so i guess we'll get hilde before this year is out with the new seasons (prob by the end of this month if not early december). we'll get a haohmaru trailer for evo japan. then after that idk
 
After they announced Hilde I stopped trying to guess who is coming back..

This once again tells me that no matter how many fancy tales we spin and concoct, All we can truly rely on is FluffyQuack's datamining and Namco's need to sell.

I really don't understand how some of you are so optimistic and hopeful, even now when we see 5 waifu's in a row.

Because the game is in a good place with fan favourites already in the game meaning Project Soul can focus on bringing other legacy characters back. For months many of us have been in heavy debate who the fourth DLC character is going to be because the consensus here as well as other places is that Hwang, Setsuka and Haohmaru are a sure thing. You've also got to consider that game development isn't linear and I suspect Hilde was completed the fastest due to her simple moveset and more up to date animations. You need to cool your head and just wait and I say that as a Li Long fan boy.

It could be anyone at this point. I would like to believe pink to be Setsuka but it could also be another character with pink clothes. I don't feel like speculating anymore lol. I still feel punked and thrown off due to the "resurrection" line.

Anybody else notice how they even combined two of her old concepts and threw a new color palette on them? While the latter is a really amazing design, reworking it seems a pretty frugal move to me. I have a feeling we won't see much in the way of full redesigns/wholly new designs this go round since Haohmaru is a newcomer and we're missing two legacy styles that can be easily tweaked for SCVI. Just hoping we get brown-haired Setsuka considering that the majority of our female cast ran through the beauty supply store's clearance hair dyes.

I guess this is what Okubo meant. They "resurrected" her old concept design, which by the way looks really good.

Yes, but that piece is entirely ornamental, and thus strengthens, rather than contradicts, the assessment of the silliness of such armour when it is utilized in fictional combat. Varahi is a warrior goddess in Hindu lore: this piece is art, not something that went into battle. The reason I think most people find the breasts on anime armour to be nonsense is because there is some sort of implication that it is practical/fitted to purpose, which is ridiculous. Plate armour was never form-fitting: that would make already unwieldy protection literally impossible to move in. Real plate armour breastplates were affixed to the body not by contouring closely to it, but rather via straps and cinches on the shoulder and around the midsection, and had lots of space for layers of essential padding and sometimes additional chain or ring mail, boiled leather armour, or gambeson. Even a particularly "well-endowed" woman's bustline would be lost under all of that, so it's not like any breasts worked into the mold of a breast plate are actually fitting to her natural curves--and again, even if they were, that would be a bad thing for purposes of mobility. No, I'm sorry, the rare work of south asian art not withstanding, tits on breastplates are a product of the minds of silly character desiners, not real or practical historical armour actually used on the battlefield.

A) We're not talking about something being a problem because it's sexualized but rather because it's dumb as shit.

B) Even if we were talking about objections based on puritanism, your statement there would be an example of the logical fallacy known since ancient times as the "false dilemma": just because someone doesn't like one aspect of something doesn't mean their choice is between embracing every aspect or hating it altogether. For example, suppose you say "I like hot dogs, but I don't like what I've been hearing about the amount of rat shit that regulations allow to be in the average hot dog." I would not think it would be reasonable to then say to you "Well, then I don't understand why you like hot dogs: you're eating something that has more rat shit in it than some other foods!" Because presumably you like hot dogs because of the taste, or texture, or cost, or some other aspect that has nothing whatsoever to do with rat feces--and it's entirely possible to make that product without it.

But let me repeat that I'm raising that second point solely to illustrate that the logic of your statement is flawed: the actual reason most people roll their eyes at breastified armour is not that they have a moralistic objection, but rather because the very concept is dumb, dumb, dumb.
 
Glad to see Hilde back. Not so glad to see she got some stupid metal tits for armor but the rest of the design looks good. Honestly, I'll take a boobplate over the other nightmares I've had about how they'd fuck up her design.
This pretty much guarantees I'll he getting the second Season Pass. Here's hoping the Princess set gets added as an extra.
 
At first i was disappointed. I was thinking since they're not releasing Hwang or another male character first, why would they go for Hilde and not Setsuka? But now i'm actually pretty happy we got her instead of Hwang since aside from Setsuka, Hilde's probably the character i want to see the most since i played her a lot in SCIV & SCV.

I guess i was subconsciously and selfishly hoping for Setsuka to be the first character of season 2. To the point that i was disappointed with the actual reveal even though she's also a favorite of mine.

As for the reveal itself, i love everything about Hilde. Her design looks fresh. She looks really young though, i would guess she's 16 in this timeline. It looks like her A charges have a flashing red effect while her B charges are bright blue. I can't wait to try her.

I think the pattern they will go with for season two is:
-Female (Hilde)
-Male (Hoahmaru)
-Female (Setsuka)
-Male (Hwang)

It's probably the selfishness in me again, but wouldn't that make sense?
