Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I think Namco dropped the ball with their DLC management.

Other companies like Capcom and SNK have done good work with theirs but Namco with SC6 have just not done as it's supposed to and killed the interest.

Yes, Setsuka and Hwang are coming but is there any players to play to engage when they come? Is no excuse because they finished Tekken's Season 3 completely and they have yet to finish Season 2 of SC6 which is inexcusable.

SamSho just finished their Season 2 with Warden and they came later than SC6 so there is no excuse.

Project Soul just dropped the ball with their DLC practices.
I am a patient person but patience has it's limits.

The truth is that maybe Haohmaru was a mistake as it took too much development time (boooo guests) but this lagging behind for SC6 DLC is just blah.

Last year they finished their Season 1 in August and I just explained the DLC stuff with other companies.

Get a move on Project Soul.
Other companies are in the same boat and they are smaller than Namco and have pulled through.

There is no excuse.

This is not a problem because Setsuka is releasing next month & is going to be Extremely OP.

So looks like Yun-seong is the next DLC after slutsuka release, he probably will stole Hwang ID like Maxi did it with Li Long, sorry @DanteSC3 Kappa

Recent datamine

Apparently these files have been in the game since November. The modders only realized mid march what the numbers were for, but then they couldn't keep it a secret...spilling the beans around March 31st/April 1st.

I'm a bit annoyed that they didn't just tell everyone when they first discovered it...

The major datamine from January 2019 was vague. Some were easy to figure out, but other were hard to figure out. Hilde aka YELL was the hardest to figure out & I even doubted her inclusion due to the vague codenames & not liking her for being OP in SCIV & SCV. STAR was the 2nd hardest because it could mean one of three characters: Yun-seong, Algol, & Viola. Yun-seong is the easiest to pick for story & poll reasons. Project Soul was smart not to include 2 Dao users in the same Season Pass. I don't hate Yun-seong at all, but I'm simply telling the truth that he was terrible in SCIV. I think a Season 3 could be in the works even though the World Tour was cancelled.

I remember Okubo talking about less balance patches.

That's not quite how it went down. Here's a quick version of the timeline:
  • Hilde patch was released. Characters IDs were included but not discovered by any modders as they were in an obscure location.
  • Modder finds it and shares it with some people in a modding discord.
  • 2-3 weeks later, it leaks outside of the discord and the whole world knows about it.
That said, if this happens again, I will be mean and try to keep it quiet.

Edit: I misunderstood a bit what you meant, but yeah, the numbers remained hidden for many months. Once they were discovered, their meaning was understood instantly.
