Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

There is a conversation about the female outfits in SC that could be had but it’s hard to tolerate from Kotaku who regularly post front page NSFW cosplay for clicks. Would be nice if they had talked more about how the game actually played.

Oh boy...

At least you can cover up your women in this series if you wanted to. And what about Voldo whose kind of dressed the same way as Ivy?

There is. If you don't like the games clothing design styles it's not the game for you. There's enough room in the world for multiple tastes and I see no reason for the game designers to apologize or make excuses. So tired of people trying to make every single game conform to some silly standard of modesty regardless of whether everyone even shares that standard.

A game could have every woman wearing a frock but one and it be considered a slut fest to these people. No room for variety. I suppose Hilde is a super slut.

Also sick of people apologizing and making excuses for things that are just fine. No game will make everyone happy. Accept and stand up for the people who appreciate your style, don't try to conform to those directly opposed in every way and don't apologize to them. Simply ignore them, and accept your niche. More respect and loyalty will be earned that way.

I'm a woman and all I can say is if you're a serious gamer then you don't give a damn about what the characters are wearing and care more about if Siggy will whiff in this game lol. I never got why some people get so offended by certain female characters looking sexy. There are sexy people in real life too but I don't think they'd go up to them and tell them to stop looking offensively attractive cuz that would be stupid. Why do it for VIDEO GAME characters LOL

It's just some dumb clickbait, that's Kotaku's thing. If you're getting annoyed they've reeled in you in well, getting clicks from annoyed people is their whole gimmick.

Kotaku is cancer, same as Polygon, you should all know by now that these so called gaming sites are more about stroking their agenda driven activism than reporting on the finer details of vidya. Also we live in a time where these tossers are no longer the gate keepers of the industry so just ignore and move along.

If you actually want vidya sites for general gaming news then I recomend bookmarking these links so you can read about latest news without having to put up with politically charged shit in it.

Also this one is more specific to fighting games.

Is this true? I hope so, I've seen a lot ruined by this crappy ass activism. Considering the apologetic nonsense and excuses I've seen not sure their grasp is entirely removed yet.

Me 10 minutes ago: "I wish I could listen clean versions of some of the Soulcalibur VI songs that we've heard in the demos..."

*Randomly searches on YouTube and finds out a few songs got uploaded yesterday and it was by someone on 8WayRun*

Me now: Thank you @Iceweb38, you have truly made my day :_D

...so anybody hoping that there won’t be Quick Battle? V was kind of a port of Broken Destiny mode-wise if you think about it.

But it seems weird to me that “Under a Pledge” sounds closer to the original theme than “Undying Legend” and what little I head from “Standing Against the Storm” which got even more arrangements I think on Maxi’s other stages.

And what a stupid name...

Over the past 10 years I've literally seen Youtube and is independent content creators put a massive dent in journo ring fencing. Developers and publishers are going to them directly more and more these days, not only because of their reach with individuals who have investments in similar franchises but they also tend to know what they're talking about. Even though Maximilian is an e-celeb, People prefer his personality more than any turd at Shitaku and just look at what happened with him recently, he actually got a recent build of SC6 exclusively. It's a big sign that the old guard has lost it's grip and it's also something that the journos have known for some time.

Games Jornalism is Dying.PNG

Most people want to be entertained just by the things they like, they don't want the things they like to be turned rotten by people who have massive sticks far up their arses. Old games journalism is in a zombie mode state right now and I think it will be a slow death just like terrestrial TV but it will die.

Just been on the currrent Soul Calibur thread on /v/ and someone posted this of the author being patronizing in a passive agressive manor to another female who points out that what she wrote is akin to body shaming.
