Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

Just playing the devil's advocate here, but unlike Cassandra and Amy, Hwang's design seems largely unchanged from SCIII. Same goes for Edge Master.
I chalk that up to them not being able to get even close enough to potentially release him as a launch character more than anything else. Tira got the full treatment, but Aeon and Hwang bit the bullet. Aeon is literally just his SoulCalibur IV incarnation (base) with an incomplete move set, but they got enough done to use him as an NPC enemy at least. Hwang would have to be made from scratch essentially, his last appearance being SoulCalibur III. Sure, they -could- have drafted a new design for him, but under crunch time, I find it highly likely that they just drew his last known appearance.

As an aside, I’m gonna start a salt collection tray when grey is not Hilde. :sc4amy1:

It seems he was trying to sidestep at the end, but he might have been screwed over by Nightmare's large hitbox.
I saw a backdash, then a forward dash and then sidestep. I feel like if he had immediately sidestepped then he would have been fine. Or even backdashed one more time, then he would have been out of range unless you did the longer range one.

He would have avoided it if he immediately sidestepped, but he was already backwalking into the first lightning bolt. I'm not sure if a backdash would have avoided the other ones either. And that was the long range version, there are two other shorter range versions. This was a turtle Nightmare so I figured he would backwalk, heh.

I imagine salt and sodium levels must have been rising high from that Nightmare lol.

We need:
  1. Seong dojang
  2. Sacred Mt. Fuji
  3. Jyurakudai Villa
  4. Lotus Garden
5.Valentine Mansion
6. Money Pit.
7. Pirate Raid / Sailor's Rest / The Adrian

Hard to tell, the medium version looks pretty similar. The up close version is the most obviously different.

Either way, as @Crash X mentioned, I'm sure salt was achieved.

Cassandra and Zafina remind me how much Japanese devs are way more superiors when it come to characters designs. Specially females. SamSho is also another top tier level in that area.

Zafina looks fabulous in T7.
I'm surprised, I wasn't a huge fan of her in T6 but she looks great in T7.

This definitely depends on what an individual values the most in their character designs, if you catch my drift...

Pretty boys don't get to escape this, it is fate.

You are really in denial when it comes to Hwang aren't you? lol

As pessimistic as I usually am, I would genuinely be surprised and disappointed if the "resurrected" character who's taking up the yellow colored slot isn't Hwang. So far, the returning DLC characters (Amy and Cassandra) had portraits and images already in the game and Hwang happens to be one of those characters with a similar level of presence as them.

Denial and pessimism is usually fine and all to avoid disappointment but I can't imagine the first DLC being anybody but Hwang. Not only will I feel disappointed, I would feel extremely jebaited at this point.

Where are you getting the term “resurrected”? That’s an oddly specific term. Did Okubo use that?
