Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

@Dissidia I will. I don’t want to pick up SC3-5 to play with Soul Calibur Sieg. This rendition has been my favorite in all the series, same goes for Kilik.

well there will hopefully be a lot of other characters you can play if you're miffed by siegfried being changed. He can't be an emo Nightmare bitch boy forever

No, but all of humanity's reason compels it to be true. The grey slot is the only one that's really speculative, really. If yellow isn't Hwang and pink isn't Setsuka then I'll believe that grey is Edge Master.
Does anyone remember when there was a "leak" of the final SC6 roster on 4chan that mention Azwel by name? Most people just ignored it because 4chan.

But then, like a week later, Azwel was revealed. All of a sudden, people were like "WTF, let's take another look at that roster."

And guess who else was in that roster? Mother-fucking HWANG. And there was that one blank spot on the character select spot (because surely Inferno would be in the middle), and Hwang fans finally let themselves feel hope?

HA HA HA.

Anyway, I learned my lesson back then. I'm not going to believe in Hwang until I see a trailer.

It’s a factor, along with in-game evidence, that has me believing that Hwang and Aeon were supposed to be in the game, but development was cut short and they didn’t make it. But that’s where the DLC comes in, to make it right! It’s gonna happen.

Why’d they have to replace Hwang anyways?
They didn't have to.

SC2 was simply intended to continue the SC storyline by retiring some of the older characters (Hwang, Sophitia) and introducing their successors (Yun-Seong, Cassandra). It's a super common trope in fighting games. But then they brought back Sophitia because of her popularity.

Nah, I doubt people who uses Nightmare, Cervantes, Taki, Algol or Dampierre cares about Yun-seong chocolate abs.. Kappa

SoulCalibur II really was SoulCalibur V in that regard, dropping Aeon, Hwang, Rock, Seong Mi-na, and Sophitia. But unlike SoulCalibur V, we got a revised version of SoulCalibur II that restored the lost styles.

I use 4/5ths of that and I do. :sc2yun2:

Well within the sphere of possible outcomes though. In fact, I'd say if there is any one character from among the six classic roster characters who have yet to be added to the game who is ultimately omitted, it is most likely to be one of the dao wielders. Mind you, I think we're getting both by the end of the third season (if there is a third season) but I could easily see Hwang being added and not Yun-seong, at this juncture.

I still don’t get why Li Long was completely removed since his supposed death until SC3 didn’t mean much. Cervantes was a console addition...

But all the Hwang rumors pre-release felt too good to be true. Still hope we have one of the daos. Xianghua’s a bit too cutesy for a badass cutlass wielder.
