Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

It warms my heart to browse reddit and see that Algol is just as hated as he was 10 years ago. "Algol is popular" my ass!
For some reason, your comment reminded me when I went to EventHubs article about the recent leaks of SoulCalibur VI and found a lot of comments of people wanting Viola.

This really made me happy. To know that Viola has support, despite people saying she can't be in the game due timeline...

I admit my rationale was petty. When I heard of the hwang leak I was floating on clouds. My excitement and happiness could not be contained. Then we had all these negative comments on twitter from salty players and many literally who's.

Then all of a sudden there were people pushing algol. Like literally where the hell have these people been? Who are you to come out of nowhere and demand your character when you haven't been doing it since the game launched? Pushing for Hwang since before the game launched until now had been a horrible depressing experience. But it looks like Hwang is coming....

Hwang fans just wanted him to get a chance! Every other character except Li Long has had plenty of opportunities to garner fans or players...

Someone had me sold at Petra. Not sure if it’s my thing for Fire Emblem or my thing for exotic warrior princesses who happen to have speech problems.

But Bolta has a unique outfit. And being a blacksmith, she could have had potential

Or find a way for Ashlotte to return somehow with a gun or other weird steampunk shit in her weapon.

To me the lack of a new female was somewhat jarring. I’m not counting 2B.

Instead of poo-pooing the lack of new females just look at how they have added "assets" to the existing ones.....

With how the girls look in SC6, its obvious that the budget did not give them enough room to make a really good female in the vanilla roster. I know it annoys people but just wait for SC7. A new game will presumably have a better budget where they can implement more of their vision.

I usually hate guest chars. 2B, Geralt and co can suck one. Haohmaru is cool though, his fighting game is a weapon based fighting game. If they have another guest character, my vote would be Raiden or Noctis. I know they'll never do that though.
They could also release literally anyone from Bushido Blade and I'd be happy.

I wonder how the fanbase should ask Project Soul to change or address the creation packs in Season 2. Or what Project Soul can do about them....

Obviously since they are cheaper than the ones in Season 1, the Season 2 packs can't hold as much content...but surely the quality can be addressed?

Well, let's be more precise here: this will delay future content; we're only talking about the question of degree. Japan is already pretty badly hit and though it has a modern and robust medical infrastructure to help contain the disease some, it also has one of the highest population densities in the world. In short, restrictions on travel and the impacts on productivity in all sectors are going to be going up. And though making a game is arguably something you can do with virtually all of your staff sheltering at home, with the right cloud solutions and telecommuting tech, we are still talking about real delays for every kind of product.

And that's before you even factor in the recession that is settling in; the games industry is somewhat immune to that (as a temporary matter anyway) because of the increased purchases at the front end by people not used to being cooped up and desperate for distractions, but sooner or later people are going to begin to focus exclusively on essentials as they feel the pinch more and more. Projects will be delayed and even cancelled as this continues, you can bet your last quid. I think Season Pass 2 probably already has a firm roadmap and probably a fair bit done on Setsuka and Hwang, so I wouldn't expect the drop dates will be drastically different from what would have happened sans corona, but there will certainly be some impact, and I think the difference will be at least marginally noticeable.

I'm 100% agree with you! Something that I want to add in this comment is that Motohiro Okubo said many times that the Project Soul the development team are all safe and healthy and they still working from their homes for the Season 2 content and he also said that in Spring they will show us "great things", let's see! And also the content is DLC which everyone can download it from our homes. I think that SoulCalibur VI Season 2 is safe for now, but maybe things gonna change, who knows? If they want to delay something they will announce it! They have been working for the Season 2 since August which they announced it and I think that they are in a good way of the development! I'm still optimistic!
