The music always defaulted to something while using random BGM in CaS anyways. I mean I didn’t need the desert theme to make me feel sleepy. That’s why we have that feature in the first place (but to use the intended theme for the character would be nice.)

A neat feature would be to use only certain themes for certain stages. Hearing Leixia’s theme at the Kunpateku would be really awkward.

Thank you for this tip. I am going to use this! However I am noticing very annoying things with "random stage" that bug me!

Even when picking random stage, I have found myself playing on the same stage twice! Additionally, it seems to heavily favor the original stages...I only found 2B and Hildes stage once each...as of now I have not found The nighttime temple stage or haohmarus stage through this.

The music "random" feature is also kind of broken.

I love this method though. Thank you for suggesting it! I never find 2B in arcade mode anymore and I like seeing more stages so this method is great!

Well, of the problems you noted, I just ran into repeating stages. Basically, all of stages appears, even new ones from updates. I didn't notice any priorities for the original stages. Played on PS4 btw. In fact, a random choice throws me a very interesting battle with the context. It picks opponents with connection with a story or with really good potential, throws them in a location where they can fight in lore, and even picks up suitable music! Moreover, it can successfully select the custom characters according to the plot context only I know about. Even if that's cool, I'm starting to feel a little paranoid...

Heres a shitty battle with interesting context: Talim walked through the forest at night and suddenly came across Azwel (Like in Amy's story). Game even gives me a suitable sinister music!

And heres a shitty battle with new stage (which actually, got picked second time)

Anyone else think they might have purposely dropped those files into the code for the game? It'll probably be a while before we see Setsuka, even with the team working from home, so I could see it as a way to sate the fanbase before another dry period.

The issue with this notion is that we don't know when these files were dropped into the game. Its possible they were there as early as Hilde. The modding community knew which numbers/IDs referenced which characters. I would have no idea what the numbers meant if I didn't find that pastebin telling who was who.

I notice now a few members of the modding community are going on reddit and various forums to say the files don't exist....they are lying. I don't understand why they are trying to put the cork on the bottle when it was one of them who leaked it.

This was not a "recent find" they were there before the game was patched for Haohmaru and the night kilik stage.

I mean, who could blame me? There is so much good music in a franchise and so little stages to put it in! And, actually, this part is the beginning of a part with "random select" goes to be relevant to context. 80% of picked music is really suitable to the stage or characters. Yeah, sometime i get a really optimistic and adventurous track in stages like Astral Chaos, but it's understandable.

Anyone interested if Project Soul decides to bring every character from this game over to the sequel? The guest characters are very well done in the game that I think they deserve the thought on it.

I don't think that's going to happen. I would not mind them returning but...guests have never returned in soulcalibur due to licensing unless its a re-release of the game they appeared in.

It’s possibly to contract the characters out again. Ezio had detail but I think Gerald, 2B, and Haohmaru have had more work put into then. Their own stages. One with his own story. It’s a valid talking point especially since companies have leased their characters out to Smash Bros more than once.

Smash Bros is on another universe compared to calibur though. Its not impossible, but the odds of a guest returning is like lower than low

We as Souls fans must continue to have the Hope that we can be in the same universal level as smash and tekken. But it’s plausible if they just return as dlc. It’s a win win for everyone. The Witcher series has literally been milking The Witcher III for how long now?

Aside from a point and click adventure game....the witcher series is over. Until they announce a new game the Witcher 3 is the end.

Returning guest characters are not an impossibility for a fighting game (if DoA6 can pull it off with Mai, almost anyone else should be able to as well).
Still I would not want Project Soul to go that road. Bringing back same guests will give their fans a false sense of security and stability building up to an inevitable hard downfall at some point in the future where it will no longer be possible to continue to use such guests for one reason or another.
Salvaging worthy movesets into SC original characters is in my opinion a much better option.
