Algol General Discussion / Q&A

I meant about people punching you in the face, I've never seen it actually happen. just a little side rant
 
any1 else tried usin the 8A+K/9A+K moves?

The A+B's catch quite a few people out and it and i usually dnt get hit when i do the move at the right time.

Yh can probably get air grabbed hit with an air AT or w/e going up but since its not a move thats used muched they probably won't expect it.

If another Algol does it it makes me appreciate how useful teleport is cause you can go behind and have plenty of time to 2B+K. I love teleporting out of UB's 2.

9A+K catches edgemaster out quite a lot too. It stuns and you can follow it up with 2K or w/e for 40-50 dmg i think. You'll probably get CH most of the time too. Bieng a vbig techjump it avoids quite a lot and is a kinda suprising thing to pull out. Tho its -15 on block but against CPU i hit it more often then i get punished or hit whilst doin it.
 
This maybe a bit odd, but I think I found the solution to his "Hidden 2nd Unblockable"... Well, sadly it can only be done on Yoda as a critical finish but there is a reason lurking in my mind right now that may make a little more sense to why he has that particular unblockable and not his big bubble... Well Namco could always program the Unblockable Bubble to hit Yoda or something they actually did something cool and gave him Inferno's "Unblockable Barrage" from SC2... If you can think back to fighting Inferno in SC2, he used an unblockable dive bomb-like attack that took out a good chunk of health and looked similar to Algols Yoda CF... Since Algol and Inferno are both the boss characters of their game Namco decided to give Algol Inferno's unblockable for Yoda to be ground-up by... Solved???

And, No Algol at Evo... thats crap... Ramon didnt use him???
Oh, and after JMP A+K, 2B+K tech traps or you can do 3B~QI B...
After 2B+K you can do 2B, BB, or 2A and they can all catch some sort of tech...

well i have been messing with algols AA

its almost as good as his BB aside from being high

pros
-i14

-tracks step %100

same frames as BB on hit so you can get a throw mix up after training your opponet to block

-good range

cons

-high

His AA is really under rated by alot of people i know
so i though i would mention it

it can also be used if people start stepping after eating BB
 
That's true Bubbles. Algol's AA is extremely good. I don't use it as much as I should because it has shorter range than his BB.

A move that I think really under rated is 11K. It's a really good tech crouching low with advantage on hit and has really good tracking. Can also be used to start a juggle if you set it up correctly.

yeah 11K is fucking good its - on hit

but you can back dash afterword to discourage your opponent pressing the advantage
 
11K is negative on CH even... you can use it as mix-ups i guess...

also another question for you guys...
his A+B is really a great move. you can 2A+B from it (depending on range) or you can chose to tech trap from it afterwards... however i seem to have trouble making this move connect.

any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
 
His A+B is ok... it has major whiffing issues at times, and -16 on block... The only real way I can use A+B is against Maxi's 4BK * 4BBK etc, or on Ivy's WP 6AA and the likes to TC under the high... At least the move hits BT'd... I like his 44B too, its around i20 and really good frame~wise...
