Also you can use your aGI for the second hit of the 66K BE. And for other mids like 22 B, etc that you can see coming. It helps to charge your aGI to level 6 so you can get him with 80+ damage combos. And also use your throws.

How?=o Both of these chars are monsters at mid and close range. Alpha does have the stronger throw game, but even if its slightly in alpha's favor me thinks at most it can be 5-5.
True, both characters are strong, but Alpha has better everything :P not only his throws, but punishment, and general damage output. In this MU, Mitsu dies after 2-3 mistakes, Alpha doesn't.

I think it can be 6:4.

Well, when it comes to 2KB BE the risk/reward is always in your favor.

4B isn't that good in this MU I think, it's risky. Not only due to being JFT/CE punishable but also I think 2363B should kill it most of the time. And if you step it, it's 1B:B, agB or B+K.

@Synraii, best players to test out this theory are Dranakal & wolflonethe (EU PSN.)
I just make too many silly mistakes for it to be remotely valid.

I'm doing a terrible job versus Astaroth and I don't really know how to play against this monster... I know JG his bullrushing BE and that's about it lol. The Astas I meet often use 44A upload and non-upload a lot. Any general suggestions against him, please. Thanks

Hello guys, I am back from my retreat, I train the game again !

Some remarks :
1)

I believe the Mitsurugi - Alpha discussed previously to be 5-5.

Alpha has better "everything" (haha Ring) as in :
- Better throw damage
- better damage overall (punishment/launcher, etc...)
- better JG damage (theorically you could JG into JFU but I sure can't do it yet, and can't do it at all if I confirm the move I JG'd).

Mitsurugi though has better :
- mobility
- better antistep (6B8 being antistep/antibackdash at -8 is a huge problem since Alpha has TONS of -8 moves)
- better damage opportunity
- better zoning game.

Still Alpha is a monster so it might be 5,5-4,5 for Alpha but I don't feel like it yet (It doesn't help I am getting bodied by the best FR Mitsu so I may be biased haha).

PS : Ring, you should test before writing stuff (wtf are you doing in the Alpha forum?) 4B is definitively good in this MU since it effectively stuffs even 236~3B ! It doesn't work against delayed 236~3B though.
As always it is not to be abused too.

Omega 66A can be punished ! FD says it is -13 but the range against Alpha makes it to be -12.
EDIT : Okay, the FD says it's -12 now, my FD is 5 month old ...

You have 2 options (okay 3 if you count CE) to punish it :
- 214~2A : 12 dmg punishment for +8 adv and mix up.
- JFU if you want to take risks and show you mad skillz.

For the record, I am using 214~2A haha.

Does anyone know the vs Hilde match-up? This MU is a blindspot for a me, since I very rarely play Hilde players. I played a good Hilde recently and got beat pretty badly. It seems like Hilde has some tools that really mess with aPat, like 22B, B+K, and her amazing step/spacing in general.

Depends on the hilde but the most common case is her is to bee in a mid range battle with you most of the time where she is threatening, so bG is good here as a bait to 22B into death, also learn the JG onA+B series and especially C3A. Spam throws vs charge hildes as they cant effectively break while guarding and dont get cocky when her back is to the edge as bot her throws will RO you, so back off and play flowchart midrange with her.

Oh and don't go totally 33B happy, her sidestep will cause it to whiff often. I like to wavedash in and force 66B throw mixups when pressuring. In clutch try it from full screen with meter and hit A+B+K if she tries to retaliatefor lolz. No really, this works XD

bG? did you mean bA or B+G or did you actually mean b then block ?
