Anti-Character Discussion

2Aing the shit out of him doesn't work. He can just do that move where he jumps back, then jumps foward and hits you in the toes (4B+K?). Even random things like 6A+B somehow move his feet out of the way of my chucks when i throw 2A. I find i have to just keep pushing foward on him to keep pressure on him with lots of 6A's and LO Ks, but in doing this, i'm taking a lot more risk than i'd like. I can sometimes turtle up and beat them that way, but that just shows that I'm more skilled than them, cause Maxi's punish game is crap.

I guess I should say block, 2A then attack/loop to be more precise.

If anyone has something against his WS B, then I'm all ears.

I guess I know who my next 6A+B punisment character I'll be working with. :)

maybe when u're at bad disadvantage, but it's generally a pretty linear move and maxi has a pretty darn good step. I use 66K, 8wr left A and 66B+K a fair bit vs Kilik hahaha. He can't punish the latter.

ah, 66B+K. I always forget about that move. I usually don't really like pushing people out like that, but that seems like a perfect counter to that type of kilik shenanigans.

Yeah i don't like using it as well, but it helps in this particular matchup. Does a number on the soul gauge as well.

sigfried cos when i guard his moves he tends to knock me just to far away to hit him. been trying different things. just GI abvious moves and trying to keep in close and keep pressure on.

and recently kiliks asura dance that lil jump and GI, argh everything i try to inturupt with catches me out a lot. probily cos i dont really see it often. but im picking it up.

Mina's been slowly driving me nuts lately. How you you catch a Mina that's determined to run away? Seems like everything I do except 66K is shut down by that retreating low she has.

I have yet to play a good Mina with my Maxi, but I know that can be very annoying. I actually play a decent Mina myself, and I was just using her against a good Maxi yesterday. Her 4A really can mess up Maxi's offense. I would guess to use similar tactic to when you fight an evasive kilik, but i can't really say for sure if that works the same. One thing is for sure, you must watch your feet from all distances.

Most of her moves have crappy properties when you are closer than tip range of her weapon, so once you get in, try to stay in if you can. Try to anticipate her 4As and nail her with something like either 66A or 66B+K. Maybe even throw out a LO K if she tries getting away after your 4Bs. Once shes on the ground, stay on her ass.

what about sophie? im to the point now where i can read her 1A,A coming but everything else for me is hard to read. if i get in close she has her stab that will interupt almost anything, if im at a distance she can run up with what appears to be highs but are actually lows...etc!! she does nothing but frustrate me. HELP ME!!

You have to be patient with Sophie. Her 236B's punishable on block. You can interrupt some of her canned strings while she's in the air with a quick A or 2B too. (Beats guessing on what height to block) A lot of her options up close will get shut down with 2A. Her 66B's high. You can knock her out of it and evade the hit with 88_22KK.

Uber: Sounds like I'll have to work on execution (I'll think stuff like 66B+K but never actually do it etc) and recognizing the punishment opportunities better vs Mina.

Mina is not very troublesome at all, she's a very unsafe character if she doesn't use attacks at tip range. Get in on her, the retreat move is very unsafe. Keep stepping to HER right (Your LEFT). U will escape pretty much EVERYTHING. Anything she uses to stop steps that direction (except 9A) is unsafe.

Sophitia can be a bit troublesome. Remember that u can WL her 236B punisher pretty much every shift if she decides to use it. If you block her 11A and she does the charged A, do WS A and follow with loop wakeups. Her 1K is unsafe as well, punish with 6A. Don't ever duck. Break throws with A pretty much 75% of the time. Don't get overly fancy. Keep bombarding her with strong mids from your loops....don't get too cocky with LO B stuff. Not much else to really say. 236:B and A+B are the only things to be scared of.

im defiently gonna try that. i need to get into training mode and set up that 236B. thats what really fucks me up. appreciate it holmes!!

Probably known, but Cervy's 4A+B loses hard to LO K. Maxi has plenty of time to set it up with 4B. Fun for spammer busting.

also if you start that 4B and follow with the B after that, right as he starts to go into that 4A+B, you will get him with a ton of frame advantage.
i like it also cause he's trying to spam this fancy move and you knock him down with something so simple and stupid, you can punish the crap out of him after that

I just like all the pretty lightning sparks colliding. (LOK's for when Cervy's already teleported back, and is coming for you with the GDR.) Knocks Cervy right out of his GDR. Totally demoralizing.

totally dig that one as well. Theres a move that you acn almost expect if you block that gdr. Cervy throws 3 verts at you (i dont know the notations) I will throw the WR A, knock him down and then continue to punish for the next 10 hits.

I do have an issue with the better cery players. Cervy has a wicked stun game. Theres a string that a lot of people use that its just "one hit" stuns. They can do it all the way across the map, it involves turning you around, low stun then high etcetcetc!!!......

if anyone can make sense of what i just typed, i would love for some tips on shaking that one. There seem to only be a few of those hits in that string that are shakable but you are so behind of frames by then it doesnt seem to matter

pretty much as a general rule, whenever you see yourself get stunned, start shaking like a mad man and hit G. You can shake a lot of those stuns cervy does.
