Astaroth and Viola Announced at TGS

Tokyo Game Show started today (half a day ago, due to timezones) and already a metric ton of information has been released about various fighting games for the upcoming year. Soul Calibur V is of course no exception with Famitsu getting the details on two new confirmed characters!

The first revealed character is a returning favorite... Astaroth; who if my math is correct, is now 23 years old. The second new character is "Viola"; who attacks with disembodied jewels, very similar to Z.W.E.I. She is working with Z.W.E.I. to accomplish something or another.

Someone popular, eh? We're kinda hoping the guest character is so popular that we don't need a popular character to return XD

I agree with Mage, but Vader was actually an extremely good character if you mastered how to use his force. I've seen some people use him with speeds that can match maxi at best. As foer the guest character... I want to know who!

Yes, they buy the game thinking Vader and Yoda will be awesome - it's sad how disappointed they were when they found out how bad they were.

That's why I think he is bad. Plus the cost of force with some of his moves are too much.

Please Namco, if you care about us real fans of the game, lose the glove. I know you've never had a problem with originality in the past, so why are you copying off MK, of all the horrible things to copy off of, now? Of all the cool, awesome weapons I'm sure your design team came up with, you gave her the glove from those brain dead horror movies. SMH

 

I think it's gonna be Thor and Loki. IDK why, but it just seems right. Thor on the PS3 as a timed exclusive, Loki on 360. Colors and all that. XD

Those moves have great properties. I used to play him as my secondary character. He has a crazy RO game, one of the best in SC4.Does decent damage and he's safe. Also, he has very good auto GI which works on everything, even throws. I think of him as one of the most dangerous characters in the game.

The chances of them designing, implementing, and showing this character in-game all within the time span that Freddy was announced in MK is pretty much non-existent.

I know there's alot of argueing over a guest character, but have they said, or showed anything about character creation yet? That was one of the main things that brought me closer to SoulCalibur. The only thing that made me "meh" about the last character creation was that it had a small variety customization to it. I only hope they make the customization better.

Anyone else think that it'll be great to make some characters not age anymore. Some people think it's cheesy, but it's a reasonable idea.
