First Tira gameplay video I've seen:

Did they change ANYTHING? -_-
I may be missing something, but I don't see anything new. Still has random mood swings, still takes self-damage, even on whiff.

I dunno, but I think they're still working on it. :>

I guess for some reason, I have this fear that they're going to focus more on the new/more popular characters and forget about Tira & just import her from SC4 haha

I know it's not the case, but I never said it was a rational fear =P
 
Seriously, if she barely changes, I'm going to throw Namco out of a window. >.<
She was so dumb in SC4! I love playing her, but she's slow and all her Jolly moves barely serve a purpose..

The weird move seen at 0:25, 0:41, and 2:20 is weird. I wonder what it does.. It doesn't stun while hit on the ground at 0:25, it missed (0:41), and at 2:20, they blocked.
She does a weird move when she's backwards at 1:48, like a turnaround form of 44K.

She lost 0-3 against someone that, from the looks of it, barely knew what they were doing.. If that's not a cry for help, I don't know what is.

--And I like her 1P a LOT more when she doesn't have the arms on. (Seen from 2:06-end)
Hilde's fabric thing hanging off her left side makes me see her as Mrs. Clause..
 
well as far as I know Tira doesn't lose health on some life grabbing Gloomy moves like the 66K or 66A
that's some news to me
 
Hey people, don't worry about the fact that SC5 Tira looks the same as SC4...
Even Kayane in her blog stated that she had the same moves just because they wanted to include her in the demo. However she got some new stuff.
Here:
She is mostly the same as in the current Soul Calibur IV.
She still has the stances Jolly and Gloomy, her two personalities. It is still random and she still loses life. Her provocation still allows changing her personality.
Some of her moves have changed commands. She has granted a few new moves.
HOWEVER, I asked if they were going to change, deepen her stances…But they said they just had included the character in the Demo, so she’s far from being the final Tira, and things can change.
For example, I spoke of the fact it would be nice that she no longer lost life in Gloomy stance, or that there was a way to chose between Jolly or Gloomy stance to gain a better control of the character. Tago-san answered me that they are still in the stage of creation of the character, so all ideas from the community to improve the character are welcome! You can express any changes that you would like to see to the producers, especially regarding the random use of stances, the loss of life, and similar issues.
See? (Even though that happened a month ago) I believe they are still working on her and the only thing they need is our contribution to that. They are waiting for our wishlists and stuff, so all you have to do is to link Daishi the thread with your ideas. So don't worry, but make sure Daishi knows what you want before it is too late.

just please try to keep it tidy so it can be easily read it recently had to have a big clean up because of the discussions going on in there

just dont feel stupid or feel your ideas are too small or something any contribution will help
we really need to make sure they make quite some big changes with her i think

and i think the move on the video at 0:25 is her SC3 2A+B which i listed on the SC3 moves list that ought to be back or not removed in the first place really,
theres no excuse for her been low tier like she is now when she should be great really,loads of potential and shes a special character

SC3 moves i would like back,some would need to be better though,i got these from when i posted all her SC3 moves a while back in the thread,they got rid of or if the SC3 versions were better so i will put those in too

some of these may seem unbalanced but i havent really edited what i say,i just copied them from earlier,but i dont see why they cant have these,its one of the things that made SC3 tira so better

they ought to have her like SC3+ moods,plus main SC4 moves and JF's plus some new things
and sorted out self damage and randomness so more controllable and the self damage is fair
i like the randomness but it needs to be able to be managed too

ive couloured in the main things i want back to make it easier

polonaise spin 44A.A.A a 4 hit mid where she spins round,had to mash a little to get 4th hit

aufttakt beak 4B.B 2 hit mid,doesnt seem that good,but at the end of the day still another move they could have kept
however when used with soul charge it stunned

44B strayed robin this makes her enter her low spin stance-2 guard breaks if charged,one is 2 hits and seems guaranteed to get a small hit after!pretty good,plus a crappy low kick but in 5 could be used as a stun like vodka said

piercing talon strike!4A+K,B current 4K.B but the first hit stuns,they should make it do that in 5 it says its a guard impact too!wow!doesnt look like it though

vibrato flutter 6A+K not bad 2 hit mid that stuns guaranteeing a small hit after another they shoudnt have got rid of,needs improving though

facing away B+K has a guard break if held,why they get rid of??

2A+B-should be made a low,
2B+K a move that naturally sidesteps they could have this if improved
her unblockable is quicker-should have stayed

66B+K M and H needs to be improved but should be on there because its a quick,long range move,thats the one where she runs across the room has nice range which she could do with
99_33K just 1 mid but it stuns so you can get a quick low in after

and then theres the canary waltz combos theres 4 so ill just list the guard break one 88_22A.B.A.A+B-they should have kept these too

and then 2 halycon rondo combos too "B.A.B.A its interesting because 1 of these if a mix of mid,high and low hits so would be hard to block and you can keep entering these and the canary waltz one too beside the guard break one and another,

coudnt be bothered to list them all,but some have wierd mixes likes high then low which is bad but the rondo one i mentioned is good,
if these were improved so they were less predictable it would be great,but this is one of the main things i want back,and the spin stances

77_11A.A.A 3 low spins,great

updraft B was unblockable after soul charge

oh and 3K would stun on counter leading to a good combo which is on the move list a main thing i want back too

so the point after all that is theyve got rid of quite a amount of moves when only a few were bad and some would be ok with improvements plus some good ones,including guard breaks and unblockables from the spin stances what she really needs in 4

ofcourse they pick and mixed with the moves but sc3 tira actually seems more diverse than our current one,
to me it was a bit like playing ivy in a funny way though because tira only had 1 stance in SC3,SC3 tira is way better,there was no need to get rid of most of those moves

and the other thing that made her so better was because she was so much more reliable because she didnt have self damage and the randomness of the mood switches,ofcourse i love them but they really need to be sorted out
 
She plays almost the same as sc4 which im happy about. Now I just need to apply the brave edge properties to comboes and learning how to combo into her CE. Im looking forward to learning her again.
Daishi said he just wanted her in the demo, so she's basically a SC4 copy, and that should change soon with requests from the community.

-CE is awesome at 1:30 and this example took out half the meter 1:44
plus tira's mood looks like it randomly changes once its finished, aand i assume u have the option of doing something extra with the mood change. I HAVE NO CLUE
-also GS 33B is in tira's JS now or in both

- no animation/sequence after WR B CH. instead can be comboed with WR B+K (updraft)
- Guard break at 1:23
- Brave edge 66666B with guard break at last swing


- i think tira JS has GS 44A

im more than happy to play with her in SC5. screw the mass changes, the CE is good enough haha
 
What I gathered from this videos:
- wsB no longer launches on CH
- wsB can be comboed into wsB+K
- JS 66B hits ground
- her CE results in ground stun, looks like it's possible to combo afterwards with JS 22B or GS 66B
- dunno why, but JS 88K 22B does a ridiuliously small amount of damage
 
I think Tira looks awesome and her CE is great but there is one fact that she has a lot of work, imo

Edit : Did you ever, even once, played SC3 Tira?
Yes I have, I played tira and mained her in both and for some weird reason I liked her technicality in 4 a little more compared to 3. Therefore I liked the character more in 4.
 
Love the outcome of these videos. I like her the way she is in these videos, no other changes need to be made.

I'm gonna have to agree, I'd be content if they left her this way as well, and I just posted in the wish list thread...

44K stills gives headache by the looks of it
she still seems way too jolly heavy

some cool new things but she is definitly not sorted at all she still always keeps losing
her CE is awesome however but there is still quite a bit to be done with her since weve seen more tira gameplay now i really hope this means they are close to been done with her style now,if so then it is a sick joke!
she needs the cool SC3 moves back,spin stances,more stuns and the moods more balanced so you dont always go back to jolly
and no 44K headaches or atleast if it stuns or changes stance

keep the randomness but it definitly needs to be controllable too
theres probably quite a bit more but hopefully those main things will bump up her tier,but if it still wasnt high enough then id say give her some more things like we have suggested in the wishlist, SC3 tira was great so why cant SCV tira be?i had no trouble fighting people with SC3 tira at all so it should be like that in V she is far from been done yet
