Can someone here read info on game disks?

Alright, I've figured a few thing about the old models and why they crash. I'll have to hex in a few things. Might take a few days since I'm out of dual layer rw's

What I posted are not filenames, it's just strings (lines of text) from the executable. There's probably more code related stuff for some of these inside the source code (which is impossible to look at), but considering there are no assets for a second guest (or any other DLC character besides Dampierre), it's very safe to conclude there are no other finished characters.
But I'm still curious nonetheless. Because my thoughts are this: We all know the game was rushed.

PS's first guest thought was Bayonetta. They even went to her creator and asked permission. However, they quickly realized that they couldn't include her in game, because her hair is her weapon, and it wouldn't translate well at all. So I don't think they ever even started doing anything on her (they did, however, ask her creator to create the 1P for Leixia and the 2P's for Ivy and Tira). Now flash-forward a little. PS has decided to fall back on their second choice: Ezio Auditore da Firenze, of Assassin's Creed fame. Now, if you conclide that they did nothing with Bayonetta in the game period, then having two guest slot files makes no sense whatsoever - unless! They intended to have a second guess from AC accompany Ezio in the game.

Now, considering that, at the time they started on this, Brotherhood was the game that was just released, that explains why Ezio is wearing his Brotherhood atire. But if they were set on including another guest, it would have to be someone from ACB (Considering all the moveset possibilities, plus popularity relavence to the series, the most obvious choice is the Courtesan, Fiora Carvazza, from ACB's Multiplayer).

Now, we know that they were working on certain characters for certain builds. Mitsu and Pat, for example, were started at the beginning, and were finished before the others (I may be wrong, so tell me if I am). Now, they know that the fans are waiting for the guest character announcement, so they begin working on Ezio at whatever time. Finally, they have him, along with Leixia, Raphael, and Nightmare, ready enough to show them off to the crowds at the (leaked) press conference. Now that he's been shown, they'll have to spend time working on Ezio.

However, when asked if there was another guest character, someone (can't remember who) replied with a "no comment", implying that there was another guest they were keeping under wraps (like the Apprentice in IV, who wasn't revealed, IIRC, until near the end). However, soon afterwards, they probably realized that there wasn't enough time to finish everybody before release. It is likely that, like with the Apprentice, they would possibly begin working on the second guest near the end of the cycle, after most of the primary cast had been completed (sans the bottom row, who, aside from EM and Algol, weren't intended to be shown until either after the game was released, or right before, as was the case with Kilik). But by this time, they realized that there was no time. The character, with barely nothing to show for itself, was removed (it wasn't that big of a deal, considering that it wasn't as if they had ever said that there was another guest, meaning there would be no backlash if the second guest wasn't in). The same with the hinted-at second CaS-only style.

From then on, they had time to focus on the last characters on the bottom row, but there wasn't enough time, so Pyrrha Omega inherited Sophie's moveset as opposed to a unique, non-S&S moveset like Alpha Pat; and Elysium and Kilik, far enough to have their models, 2D art showing wielded weapons, and even their 1P and 2P cards showing weapons as well, but not yet programmed with their own movesets, were instead abandoned to the mimic fate, each being different from eachother and EM, but retaining little of their (possibly) intended movesets.

So now we have nothing about this second guest character, aside from theat file. I know it's just code, but if it wasn't important (for example, holding certain things like at least a name or something), it wouldn't be there. Even though there's nothing else to show for the character, I am confident that, if the character is indeed real (as in planned to appear), then, with all this time now to fix the mistakes made by the game being rushed, that everything cut will eventually reappear.

Sorry for the Wall-of-Text, but that's why I want to know if it actually says anything within the file. If it's as lengthy and complete (even if it is just code) as the other files in the same folder, then, logically, the charactert it was attached to must have been pretty complete at least in that area.

And sorry if you've already looked at the file itself (you implied that from your reply), but this could hint at future content, the same way that Kamikirimusi and Zasalamel's IV models (the same as NM and Sieg) implied that they were either transfered over as a basis for a V model (meaning they were intended to be included), or they were brought over intended as Legendary Souls bosses.

Considering the list includes Boss Astaroth which is nothing but a SC4 model (assuming that is what Kami is for), I don't think it implies they got very far with the second guest.

I don't get why Kami with be an Astaroth placeholder. Ashlotte was the Astaroth bonus character, Kami was Nightmare.

But yeah, If they had indeed gotten anywhere with the second guest, then we'd have something more substantial then just a lone coding file. But that right there proves that at some point there were going to be two guests. So it's interesting to me, and I hope PS will bring the character back if they were forced to cut whoever it was.

I don't think so. Ezio would only have to jump a mere hundred years (the same with anyone from II-Revelations); Altair would have to jump six-hundred. So, based on the fact that they wanted guests that "make sense", the second guest would be someone from II-Revelations. And since Ezio appears as he is in Brotherhood, it "makes" sense that teh second guest would also come from that game. In this case, taking into account moveset, as well as popularity and relevance to the series, Fiora Carvazza, the Courtesan, is the first choice beside Ezio. And it would satisfy all of the Steel Fan, well, fans, because of her bladed fan.

It's Bayonetta. They've hinted her since she was directly mentioned to be one of the works in progress, only to be dropped because the game was rushed.

It's so obvious. Stop trying to think so hard.

Some other oddities to show. The most interesting are 2 thumbnails of what looks like Dampierre story sequences. Does anyone know if these are used in Broken Destiny?

And also, less interesting, but barely worth noting. Among the character select illustrations, there's 3 which looks like placeholders (one astaroth and 2 of patroklos, and they're 3D renders instead of artwork). I dunno why they're there. They must have been updated late in the project since they're of the final character models.

So what do the heads of the two naked female models look like?
I think it's one of the default CAS faces.

Those Dampierre pictures are taken straight out of his Critical Finish.

I.E. the sob story that makes even Nightmare cry and give Dampierre money to treat his sick daughter.

Regarding DLC music. This list of tracks were announced for the game:

And it's all already on the disc. It's possible to use a little haxxery to unlock them right away, same way with a bunch of CAS items. I think it's likely Namco won't do any "real" DLC for this game and all the stuff we're getting are on disc stuff.

So, why does Namco put all this unused crap on the disk, to slow load times?

The unused crap isn't loaded (I would assume) as long as you're not using anything that WOULD be loading it. In other words, the nude models etc don't contribute to loading times because there's no way to load them in the first place without modding.

I'm really bad with words, sorry I can't explain any better. I could be wrong though :\

My question is: does anyone think that they will make a dlc pack of weapon models. Baring that the weapon models we have seen are all present and accounted for of course.

Sectus, may I ask you something ?
You said earlier that there was a model of Zas in the game in the developpement files or something like that.
Could I ask you to take a screenshot of him like you did for SC IV Sieg and Night ?

If you scroll to the top of this page he says that Zas crashes the game when he tries to load him.

Namco has always been bad about doing any actual DLC for games. Guess there goes any chance of Talim or Zas returning or new modes being added.
