And is it legit?

My uncle got an e-mail from one of his close friends who is the VP of a Foam company that he goes to (My uncle's a construction worker), and this guy never forwards him things. I am going to copy this word for word. OH and the names are blocked out just because most other people do that too.

Ok guys, my lawyer's paralegal sent this one to me and if it doesn't work, they are aware that we will be coming to visit them for a law suit for false advertisement :-)

THIS TOOK TWO PAGES OF THE TUESDAY USA TODAY - IT IS FOR REAL

To all of my friends, i do not usually forward messages,

But this is from my friend ******* ******** and she really is an attorney. If she says this will work, it will work. After all, What have you got to lose?

Im an attorney, and i know the law. This thing is for real. Rest assured

Aol and Intel will follow through with their promises for fear of facing a multimillion dollar class action suit similar to the one filed by PepsiCo against General Electric not too long ago.

Dear Friends: Please do not take this for a junk letter.

Bill Gates is sharing his fortune. If you ignore this, You will repent.

Microsoft and AOL are now the largest Internet companies and in an effort to make sure that INternet Explorer remains the most widely used program, Microsoft and AOL are running an e-mail beta test.

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and will track it (If you are a Microsoft Windows user) For two weeks time period.

For every person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will pay. You $245.00 for every person that you sent it to that forwards it on,

Microsoft will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that recieves it.

You will be paid $241.00. Within two weeks, Microsoft will contact you for your address and then send you a check.

Regards, ******* * ****** General Manager Field Operations.

Please give me your opinions on if this is legit, fake, or harmless to try.

It's not me who got this, i'm just trying to help out my uncle cuz he's confused as hell. I personally told him not to do it but he just wants to know.

my first instinct says bullshit, but the ....uh...perfect grammar and sentence structure tell me that this must be 100% legit. i'd suggest emailing it to everyone you know immediately.

I don't think it would do any harm to try this. And by "this" I mean jumping off a tall building.

It seems like common sense, but here's a tip: If someone you don't know sends you an e-mail offering you money...

It. Doesn't. Work.

See that's the thing, it is someone he knows, not only that but he got this email from a person who is fairly trustworthy and doesn't contact him for anything besides work. I suppose that fact can work both ways though.

Yes... what he should do is contact that person and tell him that his COMPUTER IS INFECTED WITH A TROJAN...

End of story. This is complete bullshit and you're an IDIOT for even suggesting that it isn't. His friend's computer was infected with an IRC spam-bot trojan. This of course means that his computer is now a "Zombie PC" connected to something called a "Bot-Network". Now someone else has control of his machine and he is using it to send out bullshit spam like this.

Oh... contact your Uncle as well... he probably has the virus now too... the email is asking you to forward it to your entire contact list so that people will propagate the virus and the bot-net grows larger. NOOBS! They should require you to pass a test before you are permitted to use the internet.

Alright will do, but i doubt it was infected because he opened the e-mail on his iPhone and i doubt they can get viruses, correct me if im wrong. Anyways thanks Jaxel even if it was in cruel words.

Yeah, just because he got it from someone he knows doesn't mean it can't be a scam. I get all sorts of crap forwarded to me from multiple family members. Sure, they got it from someone they know, but wow..some of this stuff just sounds way too stupid to believe.

It reminds me of all those, "get rich quick!" e-mails I used to get. Now all I get is stupid Viagra spam. Well..at least that works *shrugs*

Damn Jaxel don't play around. He adamantly thinks you're an idiot! That's cold regardless of the circumstance but then again, you set it up and he knocked it down so fair trade.

jaxel is just jealous and doesn't know sweet free money when he sees it. i think he wants the email for himself.

you should definitely send it to everyone you know. its digital darwinism.

Learn what a class action lawsuit is? Also, AOL stopped being big a long time ago, and Bill Gates isn't the main guy at Microsoft anymore.
