information of every character.

Not any better. All though the idea is great. Idlemind hit it on the head.....

A good starting point might be to speak in dry fact at first, because if the list is intended for newbies it needs to speak in terminology that newbies would understand. An example:

The idea behind a list like this is for newer players to have a UNBIASED idea of what characters are capable of what. Not this "Fun to button mash at low level play cause its funny"......that is totally biased and will mislead the niave into something that may not be true. Personal opinions of characters (and believe me I have quite a few of my own) should NOT be part of that.

Mitsurugi
-Style: Mixups, pokes .
-Suited for: Balanced.
-Difficult: Beginner.
-Why use: Everybody uses him, scrubs love to CAS one and put him a 120 and kittien's voice.

Like that red statement should NOT be in that list at all. We are not 8th graders trying to be cool. We need UNBIASED information

Lots of things are on here that make you say WTF?! I'll name 5:
1. aPat isn't very safe(One of the safest characters in the game)
2. Mitsu is very unsafe(He has arguably the best frames in the game)
3. Cervy's mixups could be a bit better(He has one of the best grab-mid mixups in the game, he has 1A, B and post 4B BE on block, he has lots of options)
4. Algol is a punishment based character(He isn't that fast)
5. Ezio has bad lows and bad oki(He has a STCing 2K, a stomp that does 36 damage, and 11_77K. He also pretty good oki. Just use 6K2, 2A+B, 66B, or 44B)

Personal issues with the character need to be left out. Such as:

Maxi:
-Style: Stance mixups.
-Difficult: medium-advanced
-Why use: use If you started as a button masher, like stylish characters, like Bruce Lee and like having multiple stances with different uses.
-Pros: He is the noob-killer by excelence, his hair, great punishment, good use of BEs, good stance 50/50s and as always, great damage.
-Cons: You can only achieve the fury kicks during one stance so you have to loop into BL if you want those 50/50s, if your opponent knows all of his stances and what links into them you will have a hard time, requires good execution if you want best damage on whiff punishment and his hair.
-Players you should be looking out for: IRM, iadorebunnies, oosaka, HRD, Marginal and Saitou (i dont know if he is still active)

references to "noobs" and such are not something you should see in a list like that. We have new members that will see this and get the wrong idea about not only the CHARACTERS but the PLAYERS you listed as still playing said characters. Keep personal issues and opinions out.

Fair enough, i´ll change it.

*watched*

this is an interesting idea; i hope to see some cool analysis. i do see errors in the original post, but i wont correct it because it will make me look like a:

"Controlling Tyrant"
"know-it-all"
"Ass"
"Pirate"

Please correct every mistakes you see, i dont mind, actually, i appreciate it.

okie dokie

so for terms like "mix ups" , "whiff Punishing", "spacing".....are they like that to not make the reader confused and to let them use their imagination or are you covering a genral idea?

to be more specifc, there are a lot of ways in how spacing, mix ups, and whiff punishing can be applied.

im just wondering.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EX: How do asta and ivy apply spacing? Differently? similarly?

PERSONALLY i think asta can space for anti rushdown.

PERSONALY i think aeon uses his spacing as a tool to trap his opponent and score ROs/wall combos (Spacing rushdown?)

PERSONALLY i think zwei plays a spacing game but more for a pressure game when he has a health advantage (hence is big damage)

i have no idea what terms would be used for that.

keep away????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i mean if you are just stating it for the general idea...then that is fine.

Siegfried:
-Style: Yomi based spacing.
-Difficult: medium-advanced.
-Why use: Use him if you can read minds or if you are manly.
-Pros: multiple stances with different uses, iAGA, 3B, 22A, 66K, good grab range, really good ring out game, landing a SBH B means half life and good poking game.
-Cons: A move like Hilde´s 22B that TCs and TSs can kill SCH, which means that 3B starts becoming unsafe if your opponent knows it, omega, he lacks good damage without meter, JG kills him and he has serious whiffing issues.
-Players you should be looking out for: Heaton, mkhspartan, Shen Yuan (now mains Ezio), Solo, Pantocrator, Slayer and KDZ (inactive).
Could you change the spelling of my name to MKH Spartan, not mkhspartan. Thanks.

I also do like the idea behind this thread, could help people newer to the game in seeing how characters work. What might need changing is some of the opinionated bits, while amusing in some cases, aren't actually information required in a short overview.

I was meaning the general idea, but you are right and I actually thought of this too, but I dont know how those terms would be called either.

I have no time to start a discussion about if my post is correct or no, I really have no time and a long post would be very boring to read, so the people will chose who to believe (sorry if it sounds rude , that is not my intention).
The reason to include jokes in the post was to make it funnier to read for some people, you may like it or no, but don't say that shouldn't be included because that depends of the people who reads it.

If you have no time to start a discussion or correct your posts.....I have no time to read your posts. Sorry if that sounds rude.

You gotta think of it from a professional stand point, If I go to McDonalds and look at thier menu and it says "Buy a Big Mac because burger king is for noobs and nobody likes the whopper" I would turn out the store and walk away. You cant sell me on the way you think by bad mouthing everyone and they momma.

So if you dont got the time, desire or whatever to put an actual "adult mentality" to your post for something like this...... ala verga puto. I aint got time for you either.

again sorry if it sounds rude

For what it's worth, I think the Pirate evaluation is largely correct. I'll offer the caveat, though, that his mixups become pretty weak at very high levels, at which point he's primarily getting damage through whiff punishment and countering movement.

So much stupid things you said in one post man.
First, can you tell me where i need to put "adult mentality"(some jokes, yeah, but that's personal taste) on the post? I made almost a page of the characters, if you need it I can put a shorts in my hand and upload a youtube video explaining the same I said there.

I thought you didnt have time.....Nor wanted to get into a long discussion. Therefore I dont have time to tell you how to make your posts. Give respect before you get respect.

I just dont see how people can take you seriously when you post shit like that. Seriously homes, grow up a little.

Mother of god... So, ok... as you say, for saying some jokes in the post and that the rest is completely wrthless isn't it? Ok, i get it, I don't care what you think, I post my thoughts in my way if the people can get something from it, fine, if not, that's not my problem.

A good starting point might be to speak in dry fact at first, because if the list is intended for newbies it needs to speak in terminology that newbies would understand. An example:

In the above example, I try to keep away from personal opinion on things like difficulty, etc. Execution is not everything in measuring difficulty for example. The job of something like this is to provide information for people to draw their choices from, not to imply your own point of view of the character. The fact is, characters are designed to excel at a particular play-style (unlike in some other Namco game where everyone has the same poke, induce whiff, punish, wall carry, oki mixup. There, got that out of my system lol). The job of a list like this is simply to explain what that particular play-style is.

PS: Trolling people who are genuinely trying to contribute is in poor taste. Even for me :\

^quoting this cause Idle puts things better than me. Im a little more crude than he is. He uses big fancy words and junk that redneck retards like me dont understand. Maybe some smarter people in this thread will get it

and decided to make one for the SCV roster
_SC5_books_ENG.png

It's called Soulcalibur V by Future Press

As for those who have commented about Zwei... you're mostly wrong dudes :/ just don't say anyting unless you're Kerrigan, or FLG, or even Oreo. THEY know...

I quite like how online hero Oreo gets a mention and Hayate, one of the writers of the guide AND the best ZWEI player in France doesn't get a mention. Stay classy 8wr people. >_>

As for the futurepress guide, look at Siegfried's frame data for 2KKKKK in there on the notes part. It just reads 'shit' Pantocrator put it in and noone noticed before publish, lol. Still got my FREE copy of it here *leans back in chair smugly*.
