I would like to put together a 24/7 live stream for SC5, the same way SRK has their 24/7 channel. Unfortunately to do this, I'm going to have to set up another streaming setup at my house. So in order to make sure I have enough funds for this I'm going to have a donation drive/raffle.

MarkMan from MadCatz has graciously gifted us a pair of these new sticks. So what I'm doing is, starting right now until next month, everyone who donates $5 will be entered into the raffle for one of these sticks. You are free to donate more and buy additional raffle entries at $5 each. The MSRP of these sticks is $159.99, so this is your chance to get one for cheap.

The arcade stick is for the Playstation3, but because of MarkMan's genious designs for these sticks, they are very easy to modify to make them multiplatform. MarkMan and MadCatz are in no way involved with this raffle, so do not send them emails with questions, or hold them responsible for any issues.

First off, you are correct. MadCatz earlier products were pretty garbage. However. When Markman(Competitive player From Tekken fame) stepped up, helped Madcatz step up their game, back with SF4. With the Tournament Edition fightsticks.

Before these sticks came to be, if you wanted a solid arcade stick you imported/bought a Hori, get one custom made, or make one yourself. With these TE Fightsticks you get one of the best consumer sticks on the market. The buttons and stick are real Sanwa(authentic Japanese parts). Not fake shit. The controller boards inside the stick are a MUCH improvement over madcatz controllers of the past.

The MLG pro controller line is also another product that proves the Madcatz of today isn't the Madcatz of back then. When MLG players found out Madcatz, not Razer. Was handling the official controller A LOT of people had the same reaction you did. So its understandable(well, not to a lot of the guys here. The Fighting Game Community already holds the Fightstick line in high regard).

Plus. Even if you don't like the stick or want it. I'd donate anyway (already did) to support our community. If you happen to win, you could EASILY resell it on ebay or something. Fightsticks are HOT.

 

Yeah the Madcatz TE is the best! Till this came along, I really liked this stick at SCR. Only problem I have is the curved button layout which makes three-button slides awkward, gotta slide in an arc or find another way.

true. there's only about a dozen people that I know of that are good online that I've actually faced. don't know about PS3 because I don't have one but all my friends do.

That could well change in SCV - a lot of new blood, so xbl is probably the best bet. =/

How about doing this scientifically? Cycle between them for a week during a month, see who gets the most action and/or gets the positive feedback?

Unless of course online is unplayable to begin with, then just go with the slightly more playable one - XBL.

I'm putting together a spec for the stream box; not including the capture card and a console, I've got the price for the actual computer to less than $600. Of course, this assumes the onboard video of the Intel H67 is enough and I won't have to get a discreet video card since I wont be streaming any PC games.

Does this also count for the SF Pads? Cause i have three at home with broken rubbers...takes around 2 months till they break. Im saying this because i need those rubbers :)

Not trying to be an ass here but one of those sticks cost almost as much as a brandnew Xbox 360 with 2 games...while i believe your sticks are better than those pads, the price policy is just insane.
