people forget NM is alot safer than his SC4 counterpart, from the many vids i've seen, stuff like 3AA, 3B used to be very punishable. In general he just feel faster and safer now. His changes are just not as apparent as Sieg's.
The combo is 33B BE 4BB. Combo.
I was thinking... after a move with fast recovery Guard Bursts the opponent, would we be able to land a fully charged CE? If so, and if Nightmare is good on that gauge's damage, it should be a free round or two for Nighty.
That was a normal GS aka manual 236 input. It was this type of cancel that made us think, if he could cancel a normal GS into CE, what if he could cancel GS out of a transition like 1A6 or 33B6 into an instant CE; tacking on a nearly all purpose counter at the end of otherwise unsafe moves. IIRC, Page tried that at NEC, but he couldn't get it to come out, which he says might've been his own inability to buffer something like 1A6236236A+B+KDid he just cancel GS with CE @ 12:46? I thought someone said you couldn't do a CE outta GS.
i'm gonna miss his safer SC4 3B (think Astaroth punished that with his bullrush in a vid)

I guess on the topic, if NM in Theory Calibur V can CE out of any instance of GS, including out of moves with built-in GS transitions, would that automatically make him one of the top tiers? As op as "making unsafe moves safe" sounds, I think it would add a nice balance to his gameplay. Anytime NM throws out a CE, he still risks punishment; and as always, it's meter dependent. It also has the technical skill appeal from 2-D games of cancelling moves into supers.
I see, it would boggle my mind if you could not do it transitioning from a move, but can from neutral. I really don't think it would be to op if you could. IMO, it would really make GS complete. You would have an answer for most anything, but if you guess wrong, like someone sidestepping CE, you would get raped for it. Seems like a perfect risk/reward situation to me.
I guess worst case a neutral GS mixup might be good from a NH GSA since it knocks them so far out now. NH GSA, 236, mixup.
Well, I'm thinking aga -> guard burst -> free fully charged CE for over 9000 damage. From what I can tell, we're given a loooong time for free damage after a guard burst, and NM's CE doesn't seem to take that much time to charge.
Who knows?
Since the new 4B is the old 44BB, whats the new 44B?

@2:54 Nightmare's AAB has guard break. I can't tell does he delay the input or hold it?
This is what Keev said later after playing the game for a longer time:
Good news ! I did play Sc5 yesterday. I did play only nightmare and i can say that finally nightmare is gooooooood haha. His gameplay have changed, that's why i didn't understand the potentiale of new nightmare. In fact, nightmare don't play on tech trap and whiff punish like in SC4. Now all his move have more damage. It break the guard very speedly (I did often 2 guard burst by match, minimum 1) . It has always some huge wall combo with style. I very happy. I will play night in SC5 !!
Also, I have played the game (latest demo) and I am telling you that he is not weak at all at this moment. Almost

Yes, yes...Take away the GB from 4A and give the extremely slow and telegraphed vertical of a 3-hit string a GB property. Fucking brilliant PS, stay classy on those useless additions.
You make it sound like an extremely slow and telegraphed horizontal was much better.
