"Please look forward to collaborations with other works!" - Guest Character Speculation Thread

CDPR owns full video game rights to The Witcher series and its characters due to a bad deal on Sapkowski's part. He did royalty deals with a game that got cancelled and a shitty TV show, so he decided to sell the gaming rights for a sum thinking CDP wouldn't be successful either. Unfortunately for him, that's the one dev that found insane success, and he hasn't seen a dime from them beyond what they first paid way back when.

There's also God of War and Monster Hunter: World (via DLC) as options. Sounds a bit too good to be true.
The latter isn't an upcoming game, and SCVI is far more likely than the former.

Even if Gerald is the guest, I'm still expecting a Square Enix guest character. Likely Cloud or Sora, with both FF7 remake and KH3 on the horizon.

Though Zoro from One Piece would still be bada$$.

Or why not all of them? TEKKEN 7 has 3 guest characters. SC can have at least that as well!
An odd legality is that Sora is actually owned by Disney, not Square Enix.
If SCVI included a Square Enix character, it'd most likely be 2B or Cloud finally.

I do find it interesting how I was told of a more traditional styled swordsman with Half-Swording & Murder Stroke styles, which Geralt does and can do.... but was passed up on.
Then that tease of him being in an upcoming game comes from CDPR's Community Manager Lead comes out today....

@Vergeben What's your take on this?

Also, I feel there might be a theme to the reveals so far in that:
  • Mitsurugi & Sophitia are iconic characters you'd first think of.
  • Kilik, Nightmare, Xianghua, and Groh look like central characters to the story.
  • Ivy and Zasalamel are associated with magic. Also we haven't seen much of them and what a better way to introduce Geralt through those things he hates- portals?
Also I'm thinking Taki (Geralt is associated with sexy women and both slay monsters/evil spirits) is also a likely reveal.

If we think about it, Tira sorta started representing the murder stroke thing within her style, she uses a weapon that on itself is impossible to hold, without the proper armor, with your hands outside the edge.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ciri also makes it if Geraldo de Riveria is really the guest. Geronimo can drink a Thunderbolt potion for his Soul Charge and Ciri can use Elder Blood to teleport around like Grøhver
The wit in this comment must not go unappreciated.

Even the man himself is a believer!

Was hoping for someone from Game of Thrones (despite lack of moveset potential) but Geralt will be very welcome, even if he sounds too good to be true. In my head he'll be revealed with Taki...

If Geralt fits what Namco had in mind for a realistic medieval sword style, then I'm pretty disappointed. Geralt's combat motions are extremely exaggerated and Hollywood-like. Actually, I feel pretty uninterested in seeing him represented in Soul Calibur after watching combat from the Witcher games. His combat style looks extremely generic. Then again, I shouldn't really complain much as I'm extremely unlikely to be interested in any guest character.

If Geralt is in the game, then I hope that means there's only one guest character in total. Witcher is a multi-platform franchise, so it makes no sense to make him exclusive to any platform.

-2 types of potions for temporary improvements as part of his game plan
-Quen for RE
-decoction for soul charge
-CE: slash slash slash Igni slash slash Aard ground pound

I don't mean to sound rude, but in that case it's really your own problem if he ends up being a guest character and Geralt is maybe even the best objective choice for a guest character in Soul Calibur 6. He has a versatile fighting style that lends itself to lots of extended possibilities for a nice moveset, his design and character fit extremely well into the SC universe and the series in which he is from is extremely well-known and renowned. He as a character is iconic. His inclusion will be great for casual sales and in this regard he is a better choice than any anime character I can think of, to be quite honest.

If you don’t like a character, you don’t like them. Arguing about you liking them or not crazy and more often than not fruitless. So who cares.

I’m actually wondering if they might have multiple guests like Tekken, because that would upset me more than me liking liking guests in the first place.
