Sasuga Shitposting

Is anyone here ok with the idea that we’re probably only going to get like one reveal this month and then maybe a group of reveals at E3?

I am.

I’d like to see a bangin’ showcase at E3 with several characters, possibly story driven, along with a little hint of the story mode/character customization/other goodies in the game.

Oh the potential. If they are planning such a thing for E3, my hype will stay alive, if they aren’t, and E3 comes and goes without big news, the wind in my sails will die down significantly.

We're probably going to get something like that at E3, but that doesn't have to be mutually exclusive with such a low energy advertising campaign / no hype train schedule. Especially when Namco is more than happy to keep promoting all their other stuff, it's just more fuel to the fire that Namco doesn't care about SoulCalibur, which in turn leaves a feeling of unrest that SoulCalibur VI won't get as much love as it needs and thus won't be the game that it could be if it was given full support.

It would have been better if the initial announcement was at E3 if the release is going to be near the end of the year if they weren't planning to consistently release updates. Not even new reveals, either, but just behind the scenes footage, interviews, even those silly Okubo sits in a chair and says basic facts videos, anything is better than just silence. They did it to themselves, revealing four characters in January, they set an expectation that they couldn't keep delivering upon and now that's where we are.

But you're right, if E3 is a letdown, then what is already low energy may just fizzle out and die.

A letdown I remember was the final reveals for Soul Calibur V...sigh...

Anyhow, if they are going to just reveal only one character (again) next month what I want at least is some new gameplay for Zasalamel, Ivy and Siegfried to make up for it.

I am still hyped for this game, though I will be following good ol' Amy's advice so I don't get disappointed with how Namco is doing these reveals and marketing.

I finally found a goodhearted man who agreed to translate my wish list for free.
Here is a small example, please evaluate the level of translation. if such a level of translation is acceptable, I immediately write my wishist to autors

My humble wishlist:
1. Good story mode.
Most prominent complaint about SC5 was story mode (good, but extremely short and covering only story of two characters), the story mode most people seem to bring up as example of good one is SC3 story mode.
I completely agree with those opinions and ask to make a story mod like in SC3. I liked it very much not only for its presentation, but also that we were able to partially influence a journey of the character and their ending.
Also I want to ask – if pre rendered cutscenes for each character take too much time and money to make, then make scripted cutscenes like in SC3. If even those a very resource-cunsuming, then make comic-styled cutscenes like like SF5, for a few hudred dollars any artist on deviantart would gladly make them for you. Even if those are too much for budget, then just make a full texted story for each character – even that is much better than having a fully rendered story, but only for two characters.
2. Learn from DOTA experience.
DOTA clearly shown that a few thousand fans could make much more than dozens of thousands of game’s developers. So please, leave development kits for fans.
If you want to get money for that, then you could just do the same thing Icefrog did – sell best fans’ creations as DLCs and share the money between you and creators of such content.
3. Consider negative experience of SC2:HD and most Hollywood remakes.
Most old fans were crying “SC5 sucks, SC2 is the best”. And specifically for them SC2HD was released. I don’t have any insider info and I don’t know exact sales numbers. But I still see SC5 streams on Youtube and Twitch and small SC5 tournaments still happen. While online activity of SC2HD is much lower and to be honest it seems quite non-existent to me.
Also I’d like to point out representative example of Star Wars and Prometheus movies. Those remakes were loved by old fans, but younger audience considered those movies morally outdated.
Some of the young people even said that in our days “Alien” looks like Starcraft prequel and Prometheus look like something of lower quality than fan-made series Starcrafts.
One famous film critic even called those movies “nothing more than a milking machine for old fans” and pointed out that “apparently authors intend to milk fans forever, even though most of them are already quite old”.
Also I’d like to point out that a lot of professional players completely abandon video games after marrying and having children, as they don’t have as much free time anymore. And if that critic is right, then milking term of game fans is much lower than that of movie fans.
After commercial failure of SC5 and Lost Swords authors decided to went the most safest and profitable route – making SC6 as close to old fans’ tastes as possible. I don’t condemn them for doing that, but with due respect I need to say – constantly making SC2 remakes is a bad idea, it would certainly appeal to old fans, but most probably won’t be appreciated by newcomers. And experience of online RPGs clearly shown – if no new players come to the game, while old ones slowly leave, any gaming community would slowly die out.

I think next Thursday they're going to mix things up and actually announce a character removal.

"You know what? We're all sick of Sophitia. So she's gone."
Groh ?! too anime poof GONE !
Groh makes me mad. If they wanted a Norse character, we could have had some buff bearded guy instead Coldsteel the Hedgeheg. He’s like the male version of Yucki Kuroi.
@Rex Dart "Xianghua's bouncing breasts kept distracting players, so we removed her entirely."

"On another note, Ivy's butt floss is slightly thinner."
Remove Talim.
Recut the original announcement trailer except it's Aeon and Arthur.

We can all rest easy now, the pokies have returned.

I wonder if this is a legitimate leak or if it’s a measured release for the sake of hype.

Edit: added pokies

If it's going to drop on Thursday anyway, unless there's a second character, I don't see much point in two days early leak. Unless it doesn't drop until next Thursday. I dunno. Two days early hype doesn't seem worth the trouble of breaking the pattern.

A good point, but doesn’t the act of a leak itself lend to a small rise in excitement? Like, now the expectation of information on Thursdays has been broken and there will always be the lingering thought in the fans minds that Bamco could drop new info at any time.

Taki's got upgraded ;)

soulcalibur-vi-05-01-18-1.jpg

Taki's hip to waist ratio is incredible in this art, but her left leg looks like she's extending it straight down? Can't wait to see the full key art

They weren't talking about how much skin they have showing, they're talking about the unnecessary boob upgrades that Sophitia and Ivy got and how it's kinda weird that Taki's are actually smaller this time
And they look fine to you. Because, y'know, opinions and all that.

Okay. I said it wrong; had a long day and seeing facebook being mentioned drove me to the edge. I will say it isn't necessary to make them modest and shrink their boobs if the men are gonna show off their guns. 'Cause their proportions don't look that accurate either with them shoulders.

This is a game after all.

This should be possible thanks to modding on the PC version. A lot of games have camera controls modded in.

Here's an example with Street Fighter 5 (which uses same engine as SC6): https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016...-fighter-5-images-taken-straight-game-itself/

I keep on seeing this talk about modding the game. I should learn how to do that if I wanna see muh Geralt in tutu just in case.
