anyways, back to the topic, yes i now know that Tekken 7 will have season 4! then SC6 better get more DLCs before Bandai Namco release SC7 for PS5 very soon like in 2021 or 2022 (my 40th birthday but i don't feel old yet lol)

i just made it myself

don't worry, you can dress Hwang as Yun-Seong or vice versa

Meanwhile, Hwang getting into season two be like:

If hwang is indeed in season 2 I am a bit terrified that his voice actor will be shit. We've only had his strong heroic voice from the dreamcast version for like 20 years...I don't count the generic guy from SC3.

that video is hilarious though, the lines sound so awkward and hwang just bitch slaps souledge and mina + yun!

Well we’ve already heard his normal speaking voice in Mi-na’s Soul Chronicle, just not his fighting voice and such.

Yes but I imagine there will probably be more effort into Hwangs soul chronicle if he comes back. I don’t think they knew there was gonna be a season 2 at that point

The voice acting in Mina’s soul chronicle left a lot to be desired in certain parts

But if you consider that Hwang was meant to be in the base roster, which I firmly believe that he was, then the voice we got would have been his final voice. I’m not sure why it would suddenly be very different. That being said, almost everyone’s voice in Soul Chronicle left a lot to be desired, and isn’t indicative of their in-battle voice. It remains fact that Hwang has a unique voice actor, not one of the generic NPC voices, so that’s assuredly going to be an estimation of what he’ll sound like.

I am a bit worried that if Hwang is indeed coming back that he might not live up to our expectations... 20 years of main character absence can cloud your hype, just like how the 6 year wait for SC6 made me crushed when the game wasn't what I wanted at launch.

times like these make me glad I'm not a pro or part of the "FGC"...it's nice to be a casual!

Being a bit of an old fart now, I've come to realize that you've got to watch it no matter where you go because at any point someone can just fuck up your life. It would be awesome for me to meet a woman IRL who's into fighting games like I am, especially Calibur but it's too fucking dangerous to chat anyone up these days at places like tournaments.

Well that’s people in a nutshell these days. Someone out there is going to try to fuck with you just for the sake of bringing you down to their level or to bolster their own fragile ego.

God I hate Social Media...and people.

What does it matter that it's at a tournament? Or are you saying you won't make the effort anywhere these days, but especially not at tournaments?

Well, not being someone who decided their contribution to the world was going to be to play video games all the time is its own reward, if you ask me. I say this as someone who--clearly, by virtue of my being here and the amount of time I spend deconstructing the art form)--loves these games. But seriously, is it really a huge surprise to anyone that a group of emotionally stunted man-children who to some extent never really left the arcades that they grew up in have been acting towards others in a manner that is objectionable? Anybody who is truly mystified by that needs to rexamine their perspective and open their eyes a little. This shit has been going on at the same or worse volume for years: I've seen plenty of it and I'm only tangentially connected to the culture these days. All that's different now is that social mores surrounding the worst of the harassing behaviours has changed and patience is running out for those who can't mature.

Eh, you know I like you Sytus, and I'm prefacing this message in this way too soften what I am about to say next: that seems like a histrionic reaction. Nobody is going to get in trouble merely for looking for love. Even in the current climate, you have to do something substantially worse than just being a little awkward in your approach. Put otherwise, I can't imagine you grabbing some teenage girl by the arm and holding her in place while you show her some porn, or cornering some kid in a bathroom stall. So I think you're going to be alright. Nobody is trying to hunt down any guy over 35 to entrap them. Be reasonably decent to the people you randomly encounter in life and you're probably going to be fine.

These people who are now facing consequences for their creepy (and at times predatory) behavior are not just innocent guys who got caught by some sort of social media honey trap. The idea that people getting called out is mostly about 'cancel culture run amuck' is regressive and reflective of a hiding one's head in the sand approach to social change, and it will only slow down the process of getting through this incredibly ugly but also incredibly necessary phase in our pop/celebrity culture. To put it into a metaphor that tracks with Soulcalibur: you live by the sword, you die by the sword: in other words, if you make your living in a field where you depend on being generally well-liked by people in a particular community, you better show an extra level of care for how you treat people. If you fail to do that and face professional consequences as a result, you really have no one to blame but yourself, as I see it.

I was leaning towards saying the same thing, @Rusted Blade , but decided to seek clarification first. I really don't think anyone expressing interest in a female in-person can expect to be all over social media for nothing more than having done so. That's farcical.

And hell, even if one person at a tournament randomly singles out one other person for cancellation over such a heinous crime, as long as one has generally conducted themselves honorably, there really shouldn't be much cause for concern.

It's not like someone couldn't do that anyway. They don't need to go to a tournament to lie about a random person on Twitter.
