SC5 'Ivy' Story/Possibilities/Speculation

They just CAN NOT remove Ivy from the series T___T, Ivy has contaminated blood + she´s an alchemist, she has easy tools for not get old.

But they are gonna change her clothes and hair, that´s for shure, maybe long hair, that would be cool, and more decent clothes, she´s going to be less "I show you everything" though.

Her "bikini" in SCIV was too much for me, she seemed like a huge sausage tied and tight, she could not breath for shure xDDDD. Ivy you are an honorable woman! how could you dress like that!
 
Haha I actually thought her dominatrix costume in SC4 was pretty good, better than SC1 and SC2 for sure (the only part I didn't like was that thin stripe which was stopping the tits from pouring out on the floor, it always looked as if it could break at any moment). For me it's a tie between SC4 and SC3 costumes. 2P is a different story however.

I think SC1 had the best 2P costume. As for the others... SC2 had probably the worst, and again for me it's a tie between SC3 and SC4 for the second place. I wouldn't mind at all if Ivy's new design was based on that long haired Ivy from concept art.

I'm heavily banking on a magical reincarnation tie in. She has too much fan support and the love of that weapon is too much to lose.

In other news...Will Talim and Amy have produced the better "soul calibur award worthy breast increase" with 17 years added?
 
You think they will change the animations of her command throws?? it would be nice, SS looks too orthopedic/artificial for me :S

Also they could put new command throws to her, and new stances! Ivy is always soooooo fun to play!
 
I always found it funny how the Ivy players are split on her outfit. Half love the Domnatix outfit the others think its the worst thing ever. I personally hope she gets another one(Dominatriz something like Sc4 or Sc3. Sc2's wasnt bad but I think 3-4's are the best) in 5, but i wonder will that look work with Long hair if they decide to run with that idea.Hoepfully if they do they will animate her hair properly with her moves so looks good.

Edit: Ring your reading my mind 2p Sc2 was the best(paired with Allurine \(^o^)/) then Se 2p and then Sc3. I hate Sc4 Raggedy player 2 costume. Blahhh!
 
In her SCIV 2p costume I love the way that her hair cover her eye, more than the 1p, Ivy is so many things at the same time... that´s what make her unique though, her fighting style proves it, three in one! offert!!

(from here I´m just kidding xD) She´s emo in whip, hitting at long distances without take risks, she´s also a dominatrix and very femenine in coiled, where she holds her sword like a whip, waiting to ride someone with it xD and in sword she´s imponent, efective, she´s so tall, she´s in front of you, and you feel sooooooo litle :).

I don´t like too much her standing pose, maybe a litle change on that too would be nice, other characters have changed her standing pose, Setsuka´s SCIV standing pose is different that SCIII standing pose...
 
For 2P
SC3 2P costume was the best for me. She was dress for your funeral, how appropriate. SC 1 2P come in second it was badass. SC 2P and then last SC4 2P. SC 4 2P was really boring.

Also an interesting thing for SC2, SC3 and SC4 all here 2P have her hair gelled back. I assume that they used SC2 2P Ivy as a base model to create the SC3 and SC4 2P Ivy.

For 1P
For me it really hard to say. I like the SC4 1P Ivy despite the ridiculousness, but SC 4 Ivy was eye candy, she didn't look threatening. SC 3 1P, I love the armour, it looked like she could rip your eyes out with that thing, But the leather, was too "clean", it also had this white and purple theme that didn't look that good, and a glove on her right hand that looked out of place. SC2 1P Ivy, was just the reversed, her outfit look very cool and intimidating, but her armour on her shoulder wasn't that good.

So I really can't say which one was better, but for SC5 I hope for a mixed of her SC3 armour and SC2 outfit.


In regarding her hair, it should never be long. It should remain the way it is, because it reflect her person. Even though her hair is short it still looks feminine, and because her hair is short it make her look tougher, as though she wouldn't take shit from nobody.
 
So in that recent interview the producer specifically says SOME of the characters are returning, not most. Does anyone think that decreases Ivy's chances of returning even further? As I said before they absolutely will not get rid of her weapon and fighting style but could they give it to someone else? On the other hand, if Zasalamel can use plot to look young and stay in the game then why not Ivy?

Just looked at Daishi's twitter page and he made this comment about Ivy:

"どんだけ～。 You want to see Ivy in her forties? Really? RT @gonintaiho: アイヴィーがアラフォーとか胸熱"

Not sure what to make of that statement. The Japanese parts run through google translator doesn't make any sense.
 
I doubt she will be in SC5... as an original.

Damn straight she better return as a bonus character in SC5 with her youth maintained.

My pirate has a score to settle.
 
I really hope they don't remove her. Even thought they would kept the move list, if they got rid of her, I wouldn't be motivated to play as much.
 
I doubt that Ivy would have a kid. I mean, logically, she wants to destroy Soul Edge. If she's actually hellbent on doing so, why would she pause her journey to raise a kid? I think the best way to keep her anti-grandma is to make her fabricated soul help her become immortal, or re-fabricate one based on the previous one to help her stay young long enough to get Soul Edge destroyed. I mean, let's face it.. Ivy's been called an "old-grandma" already. Making her around 45 and still wearing the same clothes? ...ouch.
I don't think I'd like the style if it was on any other character.. I love Ivy as a person, and would hate to see that change. Although, I do hate how they changed her style so drastically.. In SC2? i believe.. They had the A+B stance where she spins the whip to her side? They removed that in SC3, and I was soooo upset. Right now is the most dependable Ivy's ever been without changing to a fixed state with each move. If anything, fix bugs. I say speed up some unblockables? Like CL 4A+B. That one is such a cool unblockable, but very rarely hits. Let WP 1/2B+K guarantee connect with WP 6A+B unblockable..

I dunno. SoulCalibur wouldn't be nearly the same if they got rid of any of the current characters.. :x

Dammit, he knows a bunch of us Ivy fans are grueling over the fate of our extremely well-aged dominatrix and it doesn't look like they'll reveal her fate any time soon.
 
Doesn't really matter to me as long as they don't get rid of her style.

I'd PREFER her to stay, but I'd settle for someone else who plays similar to her.
 
Taki will definitely not retire as long as she still has the ability to fight.:)
By the way, Daishi said afterwards that 'it's a video game', so that means Ivy will definitely return.:)
 
I would like to see along with some good attacks for her come with them, her get back spiral embrace and/or spiral tribute form SC II.
