SCV- New CHARACTER ideas

I need more Loner characters. I like Zasalamel because he was on his own. He needed no one and his goal was set in his mind. I also like characters who wear loose robe/cloak type things(Not like a mage robe though).
Everyone should be alone. When people all come in groups the individuality and purpose thins for the sided or background characters forced to be the supporters. (Seung Mina) It was much better when they all had their own personal reasons to find the swords rather then them all banding together just because they share a common moral view. I mean, finding the legendary swords before anyone else around you should be treated like war tactics.

How about more accurate weapons for the time.

Well honestly, with the advent of fire arms, all the styles in the game have become obsolete. Historically speaking this is around the time that sword fighting and suits of armor ceased being prevalent. Only Cervantes and Ezio could be selected if you wanted an accurate depiction of weapon fighting in the era.

I honestly don't get why they would even consider that. Though it's clear that PS doesn't know what they want to do with this series and have clearly forgotten their original concept with really makes this game sad.. It just doesnt make sense to me. They honestly should reboot the series back into the actual Middle ages were Swords and Souls actually mattered... being the strongest warrior of strength or skill was what defined a country and a culture. The age of Gladiators and European Kings or Queens was the age of fairytales which Soul Calibur could have been told as. If we look at stories of that age we can open up so many possibilities for character motivation; it wouldn't ever be a this mess. Maybe a western company should take over the series to at least give it that. What is Soul Calibur about now? Nothing, there is no consistancy and no theme which is wh ypeople think this series has a shitty to no story at all. No focus, no attention and no linearity. Soul Clibur could have been much better then this.
The narrative here is EXACTLY what Soul Calibur 5 should have been about it just fits perfectly. Patroklos should have been put in place of the hero in that story until he finds what monster his sister had become because of the cursed power Tira and her forces had consumed her with. Rather then finding the swords for some silly-willy whimsical adventure they would have had to; to please their tryannical princesses or fight against war driven enemies. Even the asian side could do the same thing, they would be trying to find the weapon for a similar cause or want to defend themselves against a European invasion. Thats where I'd put Leixia. She'd be the "Hilde" of China.

It also bothers me that nobody even seems to have reasons to find the swords anymore. Everybody suddenly has other shit going on and no need for Soul Edge.

Personally, the story should be in that same structure as Soul Calibur 1's: Soul Edge causes things to become drastic, and the characters need to slowly recover from the turmoil.

But the next one could be slightly different. It does cause some drastic things but it doesn't have a strong impact on the characters until the end of SCVI. Future games is where they slowly (and I mean very slowly) recover from it all.

Oh yeah, Germany had witch trials during those times too. *winks and points at Viola*

Pretty much both swords have ran their course seems like. The only ones who are more concerned about it are Siegfried, Nightmare, Tira, Hilde, Raphael, Ivy, Cervantes, Patroklos, Pyrrha, and Algol. Everyone else are pretty much have their own storylines but not pertaining to the cause at hand (looking at the Asian fighters) or we're stuck not knowing who they are (Z.W.E.I. and Viola). I think a reboot is in order with the premise surrounding only the two swords and their reasons for obtaining it i.e. Mitsurugi wanted Soul Edge to be more powerful, Yun-Seong wanted Soul Edge to protect his homeland, and Kilik wanted to destroy Soul Edge so that he can atone for his sins. Its stories like those that made Soul Edge, Soul Calibur, and the characters' motivations that have kept us interested in the whole story and the swords.

I think there should be characters with some ranged features, or at least somewhat. Like with Cervantes and his guns. Maybe someone with a bow, or a magical mofo
That's what I really want, a magical character that's almost completely magic. Viola don't cut it.

But we want a 3D fighter with a magic character.
While I think it would be cool I personally dont think it belongs in Soul Calibur. Other than Zwei/Viola the combat system in SC leans more towards the Realistic than the fantasy.

But I would love to see a 3D fighter with magic :)

I think the game is steadily evolving to adapt both elements. Whether it be in small details like Aeons fireball or whole characters like ZWEI, the series is more and more beginning to embrace the supernatural and fantastical, and i think the setting has enough room and versatility for both.

Most new SC characters end up looking like something out of an anime. The next game needs characters like this:

The characters are "anime-ish", sure but that aspect was kind of downplayed in the previous SC games.

EDIT:

Not anime-ish, but Final Fantasy-ish. Male characters don't need to expose their barren chest unless it's being consumed by a malevolent entity.

It's obviously shown in Soul Blade. Just later on they began to develop the characters more. They'll probably do the same approach for the new characters in SCV.

And there is nothing wrong with "Final Fantasy-ish" characters.

Well when you think about it it's moved more towards fantasy. Viola is a fortune teller, ZWEI's a werewolf, Raph is a Vampire, Voldo... Is Voldo (Or a human spider), Ivy's an alchemist with a living sword, Nightmare's a parasitic sword, and there's still more. I'm sure adding a more magically inclined character to a series that already has so much magic and fantasy wouldn't be harmful. And even with all of the magic and fantasy, there's characters who are more realistic, like Mitsurugi, Siegfried, Setsuka, and many other characters, as much as they come and go. I don't think balancing the fantasy and the realism isn't an issue.

Fair enough. I just PERSONALLY would not want it in SC unless it was a very limited thing. Like a guy with a sword who can shoot a fireball for one of his skills. And it was not spammable.

While I do agree with you, almost none of the characters in the SC universe seem realistic.
