SCV: Who To Watch For At EVO 2012

With Soulcalibur V having over 400 competitors at EVO 2012 distributed across twenty-six 16 man pools, it gets kind of crazy trying to keep track of everything, especially if you are new to the competitive side of Soulcalibur V or unfamiliar with who the players are.

I decided to compile a list of every pool for Soulcalibur V and list the players to look out for. Make sure you leave you predictions who to look out for and follow the brackets online as they are updated.

Even if i could do his JFs consistently i dont think i would. I'm actually pretty comfortable in the Viola mirror match up. Now more so since i got to fight Tokido's. If i do counterpick as anyone it'll be with Raph for those few match ups i think he actually does better than Viola in.

Raph supposedly does well in a couple match ups that arent that good for Viola. Like against Nightmare. I think he also fairs better against Algol. And it makes sense. Viola is a short range character with hardly any punishment options, while Raphael has good range and pretty effective mid-long range punishes.

And honestly i know Raph has problems, but i feel more confident with him than anyone else besides Viola. His style just fits with me.

Just a heads up. I noticed someone mention a Tira from Japan above. I'd advise all Americans to train up on the Tira match as the last time I spoke to Tokido he said the best Japan SC player was a Tira. I'm not sure if the one mentioned here is him though.

 

One thing I learned is never bet money against Signia. Unless it's a runback.
