Also, having random character profile images as a very faint bg in posts like TZ would be pretty boss.

Take a look at the BG on peoples' posts. You can see a transparent, almost invisible image of a random character as the BG.

Other optional color themes (Character based color schemes) would be nice, too. Maybe a Siegfried or Nightmare color scheme as the default and have others selectable from User CP or the Home Page.

I like those aspects of TZ's forums too though I can't stand the default theme.

I think a symbol would be nice.

We could draw some inspiration from this:

Theme based, the pentagram might be replaced with the eye of Sole Edge or the crystal orb thingy of Soul Calibur. The arrows could also be made to resemble features of the swords.

Also, I think, that Yoda/Vader/Apprentice shouldn't be used in any designs. Might spare us some unwanted attention from LucasArts' attorneys.

I concur. 8WR should have a new theme that differentiates it from CF.com, but this general style is a good idea IMHO...

Overall supposed to vaguely resemble CF.com except more modern.

The Soul Calibur orb on the right side of the header is supposed to change image depending on which hyperlink you hover over in the main navigation bar. Supposed to be reminiscent of the SCIV menu. Thought it might be cool.

The image on the left of that is supposed to change depending on what forum you're in. Mainly so each SA can have a picture of it's character.

The logo I'm not exactly happy with.

There's too much whitespace right now. (More like brownspace amirite? lawl.) But that's because I'm lazy and haven't properly populated that area yet.

Now, I need my sleep. Lol.
