Soul Calibur 5 Guest/Bonus/CAS Character Discussion

UBER-FACT: i was not talking about your nonsense, the one i just demolished was other's dude nonsense :D
Your nonsense was nice too,but more than else lack of info, when you get info you self-fixed yourself ---> bravo,no need to demolish :D

Next time be sure the vagina people are attacking is yours one before get mad and wall-text :D
You're going to have to be a bit specific on who you're referring to as far as "demolishing" goes (you probably should've quoted them). I don't know who the guest is, but I gave valid reasons on why he might be a likely contender. Also, no need to come off as insulting to anyone. This is just a speculative discussion, not an argument.

Gatsu: I just tend to text a lot. I was posting that for my own benefit more than anyone else as it is a decent summary of what I've now come to understand and believe based off of all the knowledge at my disposal currently. In the future though if you could refer or quote who you are talking to it would be beneficial for all involved so that the wrong person does not take offense to something :sc4rap1:

The fact that a Soul Edge hypothetically appeared in a different universe in a different franchise being wielded by a different villain (ahem, if you haven't guessed already, FFXIII-2) just crushed all the other games' chances of even getting a guest character into the game.
Wait, if there was a character that had a weapon like Soul Edge, wouldn't that be a reason NOT to include them? Would Namco really let two Soul Edges in SCV? I'm not too sure about that. I'm not saying it's impossible to add FF XIII-2, but that weapon far from guarantees it.

Another "you say at me?" :D
No,you not :D

On the contrary you made many good points and even gived correct info to the #1 "you say at me?" dude to self fix himself

Is'nt that hard
" the dude whining about Ezio as hypotetic guest because blah blah will not fit,is the same that want a 2011 cheerleader with a chainshaw. Lol."

:D

well did not expect that. Definitely Soul Edge.

Well I think we now know the guest character. it's going to be someone from XIII-2 probably.

here's a link to what Exodus is talking about (assuming I can post links here?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7M3TROcIro

then again this might just be a coincidence...or an issue with copyright.

I saw that a short time ago and of course “Soul Edge” immediately popped into mind. Certainly I agree it raises the possibility of an FFXIII-2 guest char(s). Not only because of that one sword, but also due to other previously stated reasons, and because FFXIII-2’s plot seems to revolve around traveling through a “gate” to “alternate timelines” (just from watching the trailer). Certainly more than enough reason by Soul Project’s standards for crossover!

However, I also think it could just be coincidence / “inspired by” and not actually indicate any formal arrangement between the companies.

[EDIT: googling, it looks like plenty of FF fans independently are pointing out Caius’s sword’s resemblance to Soul Edge (e.g. “why does he have the soul calibur [sic] sword?”). Given that, I am revising my confidence levels below.]

Right now I am leaning 65% FF guest, 25% Assassin’s Creed, 10% other. ±20% confidence for each (LOL). As long as it isn’t just this Caius character, but also Lightning (she looks cool IMHO and is more iconic), I’m fine with this.

Well, an eye on a sword has been pretty iconic in Namco's history for a long time now, I doubt a similar BFS with an eye would just randomly pop up (and be used by a mainstream villain) in a Square Enix game (Namco Bandai's rivals when it comes to the JRPG world) without something sneaky happening behind the scenes.

okay I've taken enough abuse because of the gimmick about the lollipop chainsaw. You thought I was really serious? but yeah I don't like the thought of that asura character being in because he totally doesn't fit the SC world even less than the star wars characters did. assassin's creed I don't know. One person pointed out what I was wrong about so I don't need other people repeating the exact same thing. calm down. sheeesh.

Norik: Bamco will make money if they offer to have a character in their game from a different company. If they did one of their own characters they would not make much of a profit considering all it is extra advertising for their own games whereas if they get a character from a different company they often have to pay for the privilege of being a guest. This might not be true with Namco but it is often how other companies deal with guest characters.

There is also the fact we have constantly explained why AC is a likely candidate and I for one am not a fan of the series but also think it is one of the more likely candidates. One of a few although again Final Fantasy XIII-2 (lightning or Caius) looks very good as well.

The facts about the guest character:
1. Already Decided.
2. Is not going to be a console exclusive guest.
3. The guest is a character from a game that both the 360 and the PS3 have been able to play.

other details:
1. not likely to be a fighting game character (why promote other companies fighting games...not to mention nearly all of the fighters in the other games do not work for Soul Calibur as it is a Swords and Souls game (weapons) whereas nearly all other fighting games are hand-to-hand/martial arts.
2. The Tales of series does not work because not all of the games have been on all systems. This crosses out the entire series. Not sure what other games Namco is overly famous for but Tales based on the 3 facts above is not going to be included.
3. Surprisingly facts 2 and 3 make the list of possible guests a hell of a lot smaller. You can only look to multi-system games in order to try and guess the guest character.

It could be ninja gaiden, final fantasy, and many more. It doesn't even really have to fit, just look at CIV. The took a completely unfitting series and made pretty good characters (except for yoda, of course).

Don't get mad at me, but these are my opinions ok?

Both the game and Ezio are soulless crap. F.cking murderer, son of a ... Also one of the best "soulless" games ever.
Crappy combat system+ripped off Prince of Persia platforming, what is cool about that? When I first played AC, I tought it'll be fun but, the game is breking records on "best repetitive game" section.

After that, I borrowded AC2, I thought I should give a chance but, really man I can't undersand how you guys stand it but this game is so "cool". When the game starts it screams "I'm soo f.king cool" but it feels empty. I get this feeling on Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, Gears of War, God of War and similar games too. I can't stand anyting about them so please, no guests from AC, please.

That it requires no skill other than mashing the action button and occasionally think a little. Most people who play those games don't really give much to the game play, but they just want to see a cool story, the graphics, etc. I myself can't play it for more than five minutes, but lots of people seem to like it for the reasons stated above.

It's like CoD with no multiplayer and without everything else that makes it fun.

Just from a visual stand point, characters like Ezio and Altair *fit* within the soul calibur universe and at least look semi-period appropriate; plus I'd be interested to see them work in a sword based fighting style that utilizes the wrist blade. Though AC feels too much like an obvious choice at this point it'd feel too much like they're just pandering to the AC crowd at that point for extra sales "OOH! A new game that let's me play Altair!"

Though I will say this; since they have an armor break system, they BETTER NOT do that bullshit they did with the star wars characters where their armor doesn't degrade visually; I want to AT LEAST see cracks in the armor or tatters in the cloth, something.

SHIT OF BULL.

Why is everybody pointing at AC? To me you're just fans who want it to happen. I think it's most likely that we'll get a namco/bandai-related character.
Hey! I haven't actually played AC actually. I only replied to what was being said, but he has the most relevance to the theme of the game out of the list of most recent protagonists, that and castlevania.
2. The Tales of series does not work because not all of the games have been on all systems. This crosses out the entire series. Not sure what other games Namco is overly famous for but Tales based on the 3 facts above is not going to be included.
I agree with your points however there is tales of Vesperia... It just wouldnt appeal because its old..

Not entirely true, since Vesperia and Graces were both originally on 360, plus Abyss is making its way to 3DS of all things.

We could be getting Colette if anything, lololol. (i hope not)

For me, he's the only cross platform character I can think of that's popular enough to be a guest that would actually fit in. It's wishful thinking mostly.

Truth be told, I'd MUCH rather get the Prince of Persia.

That would be nice actually, since I just found out that Collette and Amy have the same VA anyway, (what a difference) I like Collete, she would add some humor to the game like falling down or whatever.

However Presea would be the better choice...IMO. I just love her character and Tara Strong doing her voice...Its hard to find completly new weapons for the series at the same time though. Kratos would have been my first choice and Zelos would have been hilarious considering all the women in the game and the reactions Amy or Talim would have seeing him would be a real treat but... we have Patroklos...(howecer you spell it)
