Soul Calibur 5 Guest/Bonus/CAS Character Discussion

Not entirely true, since Vesperia and Graces were both originally on 360, plus Abyss is making its way to 3DS of all things.

We could be getting Colette if anything, lololol. (i hope not)
Actually Tales of Vesperia was only available for the 360 in the United States and would therefore be crossed off the list of being multi-platformed in all regions. Graces was originally on the Wii and then on PS3 but no 360. I also highly doubt they will include characters that are only on systems in one part of the world. The game will likely have to have been released for both systems in both NA and Japan. Abyss was never on the 360 so that game too is crossed off the list.

to me Tales of Vesperia wasn't made for Japan because Japan had Tales of the World which featured all Tales of ___ characters including the characters from the Vesperia game so I'm pretty sure Japan had access to that game some how because it wouldn't make since to have a japanese game not come to it's home country and then the same company come out with a game that features those characters. that's like having Halo 4 only come out to all countries but America which is the country that give it the widest attention. Same thing with CoD Modern Warfare 3.

SHIT OF BULL.

Why is everybody pointing at AC? To me you're just fans who want it to happen. I think it's most likely that we'll get a namco/bandai-related character.
Like Link,Kratos,Spawn,Dante(near to be in SC3),Vader,Yoda and the other useless SWW dude?

Reverse argument: To me you're just a not fan who don't want it happen and try to prove it :D

I hate when a discussion about what is POSSIBLE get the road of "i like/dislike this so i try to proof that is in/out"

Believe me,i played both AC and AC2,but i'm not a fan of AC.
On the contrary to be honest,as much i like things (very artistic, best locations ever seen in a VG),i find it poor games, specially the first.
I like Ezio character btw,but that's not the point.

The point is that (even if after seen the pink-purple hair faggy with teh wannabe SE,nearly surely is some FF13X2 shit) as long we don't know for SURE who is the guest, AC for many simply rational reasons is potentially a strong candidate

And this as simple it is i hope close the neutral part of the thing

About personal tastes
I WANT Ezio to be the Guest?
Personally i will prefer NO Guest,i like SC and i will like they keep it pure as possible.
Is not possible,Guest yet confirmed.
So? So i want the Guest to be less invasive, less break-atmosphere as possible
Under that point of view yes,i will like Ezio, being a char that can potentially be a SC char and not a ZOMG watch at me i'm zuper zpecial Guest with bullshit zuperpowers and faggy haircut(hi Caius).
Ezio is an italian(real country, real world),Renassaince age, assassin that use blades to fight. No magic,no shit, just high skill and deadly technique. Plus is design is cool, full of details(SC approve) but still with some realistic not bs fantasy touch... basically you can place him near to Mitsu or Sieg and don't see a break of visual/art style.
He even is a "type"he is the italian assassin as Mitsu is the jap samurai or Sieg is the german knight
Basically, all in the Ezio char "respect SC rules" of both universe and art style ---> can become a SC char

Is the opposite of a bs Vader that will never be a SC char, and don't want it.
Is just a tv spot of something totally unfitting in my SC game, something there just to scream "i'm VADER from SW"

Same with Caius actually(even if i must admit, for SC is not fugly as SW trash), i watch him and there is nothing about SC, just 2011 childish nonsense fantasy badazz wannabe ugly design(like our Zwei to be honest) with no sense in SC universe or art style.

A pink-purple FF faggy,with a feather in hairs,black i'm zo badazz wannabe outfit and a fake(ugly) Soul Edge.
Place that thing near to Mitsu or Sieg and only reaction can be

Howabout we all just shut the hell up and wait a little longer. I swear if I hear a non SC fan say "Mickey Mouse should be in the next one!", I'll be in prison.

Whining about people speculate about Guest in the Guest speculation thread is'nt maybe your best move ever :D

Said that i agree, see some ridicolous names in this thread are stabs to my poor SC-fan heart :D

See Gatsu's second-to-last post.

I played AC2. I found the "game" aspect of it to be primitive and boring. I found the plot thin and the characters unconvincing. However, I did love by the freedom of running through a gorgeously-reconstructed renaissance Italy and enjoyed the atmosphere created by the soundtrack.

Most relevantly, although I found the characters' behaviors and backgrounds unconvincing as mentioned, I at least appreciated Ezio's design and armament. And as has been explained many, many, many times before, he "fits" in the SC world so much better than almost any other character, and is so much less aesthetically offensive than other video game characters. This is why a good number of us hope that Ezio/Altaïr is the guest.

I in no way consider myself a "fan" of the character. There are plenty of other video games and video game characters out there I consider superior. But I do think that this is the best known option for an SC guest character currently available.

I've never bought another AC game. I've never made an Ezio CAS (although my cousin did, and I subsequently deleted it). I've never used "Ezio" as a username or petitioned Namco to include him in the series. I'm tired of people using the straw man argument that people want AC guest characters because they love the game or the character. Read and respond to the logic of our posts, which has nothing to do with how much we like or dislike the character, but don't attack the concept on the basis of an invented or ascribed fan status.

LOL, someone already posted that in a YouTube video somewhere. Jokingly, of course.

There are several characters that an argument could be made for using logic. There is a very logical reason that a character or two from "Asura's Wrath" would be the guests. There is a logical reason (although the logic is pretty weak) as to why that character from FF XIII-2 would be included.

The fact that everyone seems to be overlooking is that logic has been thrown entirely out the window before when it's come to guest characters.

Would anyone have ever reasonably guessed that Star Wars characters would be included in the Soulcalibur games?

Would anyone have ever reasonably guessed that Spawn would be included in Soulcalibur games?

In terms of actual logic (From a business/money/sales point of view) I still think the most likely guest character(s?) are going to come from "Asura's Wrath" simply because the same company that is developing that game is ALSO working on Soulcalibur 5. CyberConnect 2 is doing SC5's story mode, I believe. It just makes perfect sense to me that characters from their game would be the guests of SC5. Like a "you wash my back, I'll wash yours" kind of thing, maybe Cyberconnect 2 agreed to do the work on the story mode under the partial condition that a character from their upcoming game (which incidentally is going to be released around the same time SC5 is) be included in SC5 for promotional purposes. Makes sense to me from a business stand-point.

But, as I said earlier, logic has no place in this discussion. Because it's entirely possible that we could end up with someone that makes absolutely no sense and that we wouldn't have guessed.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. You are entirely correct that NamcoBandai has proven themselves batsh*t insane with guest selections. No logic at all, other than perhaps "more popular = better."

I was referring to the logic of why Gatsu, myself and others want Ezio in the game. We want Ezio in the game for logical reasons. Also some emotional ones (aesthetics is subjective after all), but I'm just trying to explain what I meant by "the logic of our posts."

There is also the idea of "what character we think NB will put in because it would be logical," but as has already been established, NB are not very logical about guests. This was not what I was referring to in my post, although I admit that is a very valid interpretation of my argument. Sorry again for not being more explicit.

Not sure about Abyss but Vesperia did get a PS3 release in japan with an additional character(some pirate chick) :(

Oh yeah, I understood what you meant. And everybody's logic about why Ezio would fit in there makes sense, it is solid logic. All I was saying is that there are other logic patterns that some people think make more sense. For instance, in comparing the characters from "Asura's Wrath" vs. the characters from the AC games, I definitely feel as though the characters from AC would fit into SC5 better, in terms of game world realism. But in looking at the motivations for having guest characters in terms of real world reasons (game promotion/sales), having characters from "Asura's Wrath" makes much more sense.

Then you have the crazies that think that a character from FF XIII-2 is carrying Soul Edge because their sword is purple and has an eye....yeah....ok....

I don't think Ezio's range is a problem (look at someone like Natsu). Besides, he can use wide arrange of weapons, including throwing knives, smoke bombs and hidden firearms. Or he could be reversal-type character, that would be unique.

Eizo would have a terrible range.
This falls into the constant fallacy people make that Ezio's only weapon is the hidden blade. Nothing could be further from the truth - that's his signature weapon, not his only weapon. Before you ever get a hidden blade, Ezio is using a full length sword and short dagger, and can also use poleaxes, maces, throwing knives, bombs, GUNS, etc. Really he is a perfect character for SC mechanics.

I actually really like Gabriel Belmont as guest (and liked the game WAY more than AC!) but I highly highly doubt that he'd make it... NB only goes for super-famous guests usually.

Yea, unfortinatly, he probably won't make it, but there is a chance, remember the ending, (spoiler alert) game was hinting for a sequel.

the multi weapon using would only remind us gamecube owners of link. he was the only one to bring in more than one weapon in a match. and if Ezio can use different weapons it only seems more reasonable to just make a CaS character that looks like him (which can easily be pulled off) and equip different weapons to him.

well what I wanted to say originally was if Ezio has a chance of being put in then there's a chance of putting in a Tenchu character(not ayame since she wields duel short swords and we already have Taki and Natsu) but Rikimaru or that other girl. they could also(but probably not since only one game came out) put in the girl from Red Ninja. They take place around the same age so it would make since.

Taki had swords, bombs and... whatever those little spikey things were (FC 1A+B). And there seems to be multiweapon theme among the new fighting styles (ball&claw, sword&Ein).

If I were to put Ezio (or Altair) in the game, I'd give him a sabre. He could use his trademark hidden blades during some moves... like aGIs (he should have those) and throws. I'd also give him some smoke bomb attack to stun his opponent. His CE... hmmm... maybe the assassin lunge, where he jumps on top of his target and stabs him/her in the neck, maybe followed by a sad flashback where the dying victim confessess all his/hers sins and finally Ezio blesses them with his "Requiescat in pace"-line. I'm joking, of course.

Lol I will look that up.
