Soul Calibur 6 CaS Discussion

Broken Destiny was kind of like soul calibur 4.5 in a manner of speaking. It was mainly based off soul calibur 4 but with additions in CaS and more single player content, but with scaled back graphics. Still have it today for my old psp that I hardly ever touch. It's actually really impressive how much content they packed in to it.

and more single player content

Eh... more and less. It had the Gauntlet mode (an elaborate tutorial with less fighting than quick tests of reaction), quick battle (like in SCV), and a few score-based challenge modes, but it lacked SCIV's Story Mode and Tower of Lost Souls.

The amount of items they had in CaS was definitely impressive though, and that they had the whole main cast (minus Star Wars and bonus characters) plus Damp and Kratos.

Haven’t seen any circlets yet.

But the IV 2Ps would be nice to have. Covers lots of essentials too.

Even though most of 4's 1P outfit designs were bad, the 2P outfits were quite good on most of the characters and general enough to work on various created characters, I'd be interested in seeing them return as well.

I just had a thought: if customizing regular characters is done as you would any other CaS, does that mean that 1P recolors won’t feature the same broken states as the defaults?

In that recolors in the builds we've seen so far still do breaks in the color 2 variants, I'd say it's safe to say that recolor and only recolor will preserve breaks and Critical Edge effects, but if you, for the sake of argument, did a custom edit and used all of a character's gear, then it wouldn't do the same, because at that point, you're on the same level as a normal CaS. So if you like everything about Mi-na except for her hair break, you could make a custom Mi-na using all of Mi-na's equipment and her nonbroken hair, and her hair wouldn't break. Or use her broken hair and just have short hair all the time.

Right, but is that at all confirmed? From the footage we’ve seen of Sophitia being customized, we can see that by default it shows her outfit as specific CaS pieces already chosen.

Don’t know if anyone is aware but after doing some digging I found that your CaS does have a win pose if you finish a round with CE

Of course we’re not lucky enough to get the camera angles sad face but hopefully we can edit the lines we say at the end. Oh well was just trying to help

That being said, I really wanna see properly what the Battle Comments do. If they indeed let us customise what CaS say in specific scenarios, then I think it is a great addition that allows us to flesh out characters a lot better.

It seems like that's all they could possibly be. What would they be otherwise?

They could be just text that appears, you can use them on the main roster too so idk

That's the only other possibility I can think of but can you imagine how lame that would be, white subtitles at the bottom of the screen with no audio? It would be next to pointless and nobody would be able to pay attention to it in the heat of battle. I'm betting its audio because its available in all the same situations during a fight that the main cast already say additional situational lines of dialogue.

The only reason I think it's text is because all the quotes are the same for all the characters, and there's stuff I can't imagine some characters saying. Like Nightmare saying "Give me strength o' Great One" or whatever it is.

Ah OK. The mystery deepens then I guess.

If I’m not mistaken, the Bong-seon pieces from SCIV are still in this game, aren’t they? The Bong-seon circlet could be a fitting equipment piece.
