In case anyone is interested in pre-ordering extremely early, you can now pre-order Soulcalibur VI from Bamco site, Amazon or Gamestop:
https://www.bandainamcoent.com/games/soulcalibur-vi#editions

Do be warned however that you may feel insulted that the Gamestop site says it's made by Capcom lol...

Quite the mistake on Amazon’s part including Capcom there lol.

Yes and no. It's a closed press event, so there will be an embargo for a few days to a week. It depends on what the agreed upon release of information is that Bandai Namco outlines.

I'm not very knowledgeable on how companys handle their game advertisements, but what's the point of a closed press event followed by an embargo? Why don't they just have a public event on say the 20th and just release the info to everyone then?

-disable armor crush for aesthetic purposes

I'm hoping for this too, if possible i'd prefer something like MK where clothes got deteriorate/torn rather than character losing their whole clothes on an explosion, which looks weird imo. I can understand as well that it may take more efforts and time to do so instead of the first option, so in that matter i guess i'll prefer just have characters wearing their own clothes in the full matches just like in SC1,2,3 and other fighting games.

PS: Sophitia losing her whole boots and became barefoot after getting hit by a sword? How is that even make sens lol

Interviews are conducted and different details are given to different interviewers. For example, A gets detailled info on characters, B on story mode and C on mechanics.

This way, many sources can bring some hype but also write complete and clear reviews without taking others' information :)

I know it will never happen but i would love to see something similar to weapon master mode from SC2 in this game. i miss having a really crazy in depth single player mode in these games. and this time they could add challenges that could help you get better at the game.

Probably a placeholder. From what I've seen, most games without a release date have December 31st listed on the preorder page.
Agreed. Given that the dev team has been quoted as saying the game is "70% finished" I think it's very likely we'll see the game release well before the end of 2018. Fingers Crossed!

Most definitely fingers crossed were all yearning here long enough. now excuse my ignorance but one of the guys on here quoted the devs as saying that development started after the 20th anniversary. Does that mean last year? if so it kind of worry's me bc I'm sure guys were not looking for another rushed put together copy paste product like scv was.

How do you guys prefer Rank mode? Universal Rank mode or Per Character Rank mode?

Personally i prefer the second option, i like to not have to worry too much about my league points if i'd like to try a new character in Rank Mode.

Am I the only one who wants them to reduce all the flashy effects? (Sorry if it is a reiteration I am a bit new here)

I mean there is no need for that and it is not good for the eyes to constantly see all that special effects on the screen. It is annoying. And it worries me. I don't want to have another experience like T7 which abuses of that kind of effects.

It is OK for a 2 minutes trailer, but that's enough. They just need to completely get rid of those unbearable effects it is a cancer in all new videogames and it is not realistic and not necessary in fighting games that use swords (not guns... sorry Cervantes).

I hope @Vergeben and @Hayate can share this particular thing with Namco because I am sure not the only one who preffers old style Soul Calibur I/II/III where the effects were almost inexistent instead of all that unrealistic "explosions" in SCIV and SCV, I just want to see one sword clashing with another one with some realistic particles instead of all that uggly exagerated effects.

They need to reduce them. I just don't want another Tekken 7 uggly effects and explosions when a collision is made.

Please, at least give the option to turn all those effects off!!! It is a must I mean I won't be able to stand playing during more than an hour when all those flashiness is happening on the screen. I constantly got headaches while playing SCIV and SCV.

But I never got a headache when playing SC I to III.
I am sure you know what I mean. I hope I am not the only one who desires NO more flashy effects. It is ok ONLY for the Specials. But not for the regular moves, please!! I don't want the "Push a Button for Awesome" philosophy that also happened in Dragon Age 2...

And I am being very serious here. This thing killed a great franchise too:

When I press a button I just want responsiveness, nothing else.

The "No More Flashy Effects" campaign has officially started.

I insist this is a big thing that can be corrected in time only before the game is released. If they take the wrong direction and abuse from the special effects it could kill the game for many. I mean the best would be to give us an option to activate or turn off just the special effects in order to avoid getting an unnecesary headache.

That's the main reason why we need to insist to make them clear that flashiness is not a good thing at all. Not if they abuse from it. Judging be the gameplay they have shown us it seems that every single movement produces an exagerated effect. That gets repetitive very fast and in the end it turns annoying.

Not necessary and completely avoidable. Considering they are at 70% I think now is the perfect moment to start pushing those effects back and reduce them anymuch as it is possible before it is too late.

unfortunately i tink you are in the minority on this one. the special effects and slow-mo are one of the big reasons evryone was so hype for tekken 7 and pretty much the one thing that made tekken tornaments watchable.

I'd prefer per character rank but at the same time overall rank no matter which character you use is also fine. id say which ever is fine with me.

you know I am surprised that no one has mentioned since the first trailer that multi hit combos seem to be gone. it seems like this game is back to being a poking game like it was intended.

I'm a little bit more confident in this new team working on this title due to them knowing how much is ridding on them redeeming them selves to the sc community as a whole and there bottom dollar $$$$ they've slacked in past title time to prove them selves and from what I see there listening and there interacting back at least with us.
