Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I'm okay with the actual roster based on the leak except Inferno, but i guess they want the game to feel like SC1 ad he'll probably be just a mimic soooo.

If that roster is 100% true. There won't be too many characters with super unique moveset left, and Setsuka will be one of them,so still high chances,also same goes for Hilde. Cassandra and even Amy have chances to make in DLCs as well. Personally i'm hoping more for Setsuka and Cassandra. I would also add Zwei but don't know if they put SCV characters as DLC.

Yeah, sure, I'm down with that. Can't wait to know more about the other characters in the roster Azwel as him... no, really, I love the name, so punny. Liked Wizardman more, though. 100% gonna CaS it.

And based leaks should be: Lizzy,Cervy,Raph, Hwang and Inferno

PS: Hughhh really Inferno? i'm still shocked, i personally find him bland, and he was also very low in the poll.... but as i said, maybe it's for throw back to SC1.

So Tira slot won't be one of the 23?since she's day one character i though maybe she'll be one of the 23 but doesn't seem to be the case, not a bad thing in a sens.

Just letting you know, that image is a modified image by someone in here that I created. I even expanded the list what I would like to see.

Didn't he say there was another new character that's a female. Also they might actually do sc3 where the other character are made through cas.
 
Azwel has a lot of Blue and Red on him, especially at the end of the trailer, another indicator that he's Groh's Dad?

Oh yeah but he's not the top notch leaker that named Azwel i think?, i wonder if that ever happen it would be Xianglian.(or maybe she will simply be in the game as an alternate costume for Xiangh)

There were 3 threads which 2 different leakers posted in. The first guy didn't make many posts at all. He claimed the remaining characters (as of June) were:
  • Seung Mina
  • Talim
  • Tira
  • Voldo
  • Astaroth
  • Azwel
  • Cervantes
  • Raphael
  • Lizardman
  • Hwang
He later clarifies he's not sure if Hwang is in since he can't find any narrator strings for him. And he claims he's worked on localization for the game. He also says he thinks create-a-soul is back, and he notes that some characters fight a lot of generic enemies (Taki fights a lot of Fuma clan people, Sophitia fights Malfested enemies, Yoshimitsu and Voldo fight a lot of "mooks"). He also said he doesn't think Cassandra is in the game but she has a cameo during Sophitia's story mode.

And then there's guy number two who posted a LOT in two different threads. I initially thought this could be the same as the above guy, but looking through more posts, they definitely are not. The second guy mainly talked a lot about Libra of Souls mode (he never mentioned it by name, only as "the create a fighter adventure mode"). Here's a bunch of stuff he mentioned:
  • Lizardman is not playable, though you can make custom lizardmen.
  • Says he doesn't think Cassandra is in the game.
  • There's a create-a-soul adventure mode where you travel between different nodes doing quests and there's an item shop.
  • You get XP and money for doing side quests and some "fanservice cameo stuff."
  • At the start of the adventure mode, Zasalamel tells you that you're cursed by the Evil Seed and you must roam the world to close dimensional shifts created by Soul Edge.
  • You team up with Maxi and Mitsurugi early in the adventure mode.
  • There's one NPC who looks like they could be Talim's sister (looks much older than Talim).
  • You unlock Inferno by beating the story mode.
  • Says there's a new character who is an "evil wizard guy." (he said this as a reply to a random statement by someone describing the look of the "wizard guy" and that Inferno is a mimic, so I guess there's a third leaker amongst all of this? Or maybe he doubleposted.)
  • He lists the entire roster (this is the big list I posted some weeks ago), which is the same as the one Azwel guy posted except this one adds Inferno, and has no Lizardman or Hwang. And he mentions Azwel by name.
He said this as reply to someone asking if he was "that Azwel guy":


I should note that one of his earlier posts said that he doesn't think Seong Mi-na isn't in. But he also said he hadn't worked on the game for months so he couldn't remember all the character names (he said Cervantes, Astaroth, Raphael and some Chinese female character he couldn't remember the name of hadn't been announced yet), and he said he would look up the character names once he was able to at work so he could post about it (which eventually lead to that one big list he posted). I'm assuming the "Chinese" character he couldn't remember the name of was actually Seong Mi-na, and his original statement about Seong Mi-na probably not being in was an honest mistake.

Note that it's technically impossible to tell who is who in 4chan posts, so it's possible some random replies were fakes (though I only found one instance where someone had to go out of their way to say that a reply was someone impersonating him). And I wanna emphasize all of these posts were made back in June and July, that's before Azwel, Seong Mi-na, Astaroth, and other reveals. Both of these leakers haven't been wrong about any of the revealed characters so far (their lists are also nearly identical except for Hwang and Lizardman).

One interesting things is that both never talked about DLC ever. Both listed Tira, but they didn't seem to be aware she was DLC (at least they never mentioned it). And never they said anything about who the other DLC characters are.

There are two more posts I might as well mention, but I don't think these two posts were made by either of the above guys. Both of these posts were part of a reply chain where leaker #2 eventually started saying stuff.

Leaker #2 replied to this message and said "he's right i'm afraid". But leaker #2 never said anything about ever knowing any DLC details, so it's possible he thought that message was right because he hasn't seen any details about her being part of the game, but he does know she's part of the Sophitia's story mode.

... Aaaaaaaand that's it! It's unfortunate it's impossible to verify who's who on 4chan as that makes it hard to trust every single post which looks to be by the same guy, and it makes it so much harder to parse all of this stuff. But I think it's extremely clear both of these guys are legit leakers. The first guy mentioned Azwel by name and he'd be the luckiest person in the world if he randomly guessed that name. The second guy mentions so many specific details about Libra of Souls mode which makes him even more believable (I should note what he said about Zasalamel being in the introduction of Libra of Souls mode matches up with one of the screenshots Namco released).

Just some thoughts to add:

It would make sense that whoever is working on localization might not know anything about DLC plans, especially if they're a 3rd party vendor scenario (possible). in this day and age it's probably not hard to swap up who you want to be DLC and who you want main game as long as you do it before you go gold. The only early planning is who will be in the game on launch, so they knew she'd be in, but maybe weren't sure who was going to be the prelaunch dlc.

All that said, i'd be sorta shocked if we got seung + talim and neither yung/hwang given their styles are pretty unique and they do serve a purpose. That said I wouldn't be that suprised if it comes down to wanting to spread the DLC.

This means for DLC options you have:

Characters I'd bet money on:

1. Hilde - too iconic not to include
2. Sets- ditto
3. Hwang/Yun - may be why they were left out, to balance out the DLC.

Less sure:

4. Lizardman- i think he'll make it here. They finally made him unique in V, and it seems like a super missed opportunity.
5. VIola- I personally hope it's her instead of Amy just because the style was very fun.
6. ZWEI- again a very unique style.
7. Rock- maybe they'll figure out what they actually want to do with him.

Other:

8. Cass- I would've included her before, but all this assumes the sources are right (not sure they are, but if i'm assuming might as well stick with it).
9. Amy- if cass doesn't actually make it, my only guess would be because they've decided that anyone not already in with a similar style/same weapon isn't making it, and if cass doesn't make it, I don't see Amy happening at all.
10. Pat- Super doubt it. Zwei/viola only make the list becuase they're unique enough styles that I could see the style returning without the character. I don't think pat's style has that chance, and falls under the similar weapon style rule i'm assuming.
11. Dampierre-no god damn way.
 
Yeah i don't think anyone knows anything about DLC characters, especially if what Okubo said is really true, like they didn't decide yet which character to include in season pass.

If the launch roster will be like already confirmed, i'll say DLC will be:

Setsuka, Hilde, Cassandra, Guest character.

Tira is special case, she's day one DLC, and also has her Story mode, while she's DLC she's also a character from launch roster.

While the other DLC characters based Okubo aren't decide yet to which one to include yet, so won't be in the game even with datamining (unless namco will be dumb enough to let the datas in like with TTT2 and Capcom with SF X Tekken Kappa )

He never mentioned him. It's interesting how Lizardman and Hwang are basically the only contradicting information between the two leakers. I personally lean towards the second leaker being correct (Lizardman and Hwang could both be bonus characters without unique movesets. That would explain why leaker #1 found mentions of both).

That's good to know. That definitely confirms that one post was just a random guy. And that means the only information about the roster which is still completely unknown are the 3 DLC characters, and the big question is if Vergeben is correct about his supposed leaked information about the DLC.
