Freaking out is still talking. It's getting the game out there. Leave people sweating a bit then reveal the characters that fill the rest of the slots. The only way this is a problem is if well they have nothing. Otherwise letting everyone sweat and assuming the worst and getting them talk about it only to reveal those slots filled with a full roster would create maximum hype. It could even have a character like Rock as one of the reveals and still have a huge effect. Hwang, Lizardman and Rock even at that point would create hype as it would then be way more than people had settled on accepting by preparing for the worst at that point.

If, however, Cerv and Raph is all they have or Raph is dlc then yep gonna be bad pr. If not however.
 
Is it possible that the build we saw was the same build that was being shown off at Gamescom during the IGN interview about the CaS mode when Cervantes style was "leaked"? It would make sense for Cervantes to already be in that build of the game would it not?

I still think it would be a very bad move on Bamco if this was indeed the final roster. I really can't see any advantages of having Hwang and Lizardman as dlc when Fighters like Cassandra and Setsuka would have way more market value. Not to mention a roster with empty slots in the top left and bottom right just makes absolutely no sense at all. Like none. Never in the history of gaming have I ever seen a roster released like that.

It’d be hilarious and a relief if the next reveal wasn’t one of them. The move list wasn’t finished for one... And the Hwang/Lizzy leak made at least the former sound incomplete.

Our only hope is that our second guest isn’t in the season pass and we get Hwang/Yun, Cassandra, and Setsuka.

Tira is one of the 4 DLC Characters in the Season Pass & the confidential build had 4 slots that are white.

That was my point.
Cassandra has potential and gets slapped down, caught up or out played.

Go back and read what I wrote, I spoke on her potential and quite blatantly acknowledged the reality of the situation, you’ve just read too much into my frustration.

Point still stands though vaulted potential sucks. :(

Again, it’d make no sense to put a bunch of empty slots at launch. I don’t think any game has ever done that.

Caught this on Reddit. Possible reveal st Summer Jam tomorrow?
