Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I take it back. Mine will be delivered to my door, why waste time walking from a store when I could be playing.
Call me old fashioned, but I still like the idea of traveling to the store to pick up a game [although most of my purchases were from Walmart and Amazon]. The Walmart near me doesn't do preorders and I wasn't sure if Amazon would deliver the game the day it releases. So GameSpot was the answer (and I likely won' t go to them after this).

As do I, I miss the big entertainment stores, most of them closed down because of online selling and digital distribution.
I pre-ordered SC VI more to ensure I got the pre-order metal case as I don't trust Game to have it.
When Dishonoured 2 came out I went to get the collectors edition and they said they were all out.
I pointed out the stack of boxes RIGHT BY THE CHECKOUT and they were like 'oh, ok'.

So how does the season pass work - do you get a code to redeem on PlayStation store? A season pass is not tied to an individual copy of the game is it? Because if my UK collectors edition with season pass amazon delivery is late I will literally go out on the Saturday and pick up a second vanilla copy from the store just so I can start playing and redeem the season pass later.

The last game I've picked up in-store was SoulCalibur V, and that was only because Dampierre was a Best Buy exclusive. It's been all-Amazon ever since, especially because they used to give 20% off discounts for preordering. Nowadays, I get games on PC more often than not, however, so the whole "going to the store" aspect is just completely gone, for me anyway. So I'm not even really bothered by Amazon taking away the discount, first from special editions, and then from everything. Sucks for people who are still on console, of course, but I really feel like consoles are becoming more and more obsolete. PS5 and the next Xbox are going to have to do something really special, in my opinion, or I'm really not sure what's going to keep them going.

I would assume it would be a code, since that's usually how packaged DLC works. I haven't had a packaged season pass yet, but I don't see why it would be any different than any other DLC.

Any and all character is always included at the cost of "potential another character" not making the cut.
And I don't see how any is more valuable than another (except for story reasons of course and not counting "replacements" from SCV which can disappear forever).
I don't even play Cass and I think that she is a good inclusion for SP.
I don't have anything against Cassandra, personally, I'm more venting against the limited slot selection that we unfortunately have, really. I haven't given up hope on Hwang just yet, and I believe he'll be in, along with Edge Master, even, it's just that the more characters we get that aren't Hwang, it just becomes a much tighter fit and crushes hope a little more each time.

Its close I CAN TASTE IT

If cassandra is unlockable or revealed before launch / dlc I guess that would put her in the top left free slot?
That still really feels like Hwang or Edge Master, to me. I think Cassandra would go to the left of CaS, with Tira going to the right of Random, assuming those two are both DLC. Two more DLC slots would be added, one above Cassandra and one above Tira, which would unify the DLC characters with the main cast characters. I'm still feeling Lizardman for the slot right of Taki, though he really would have been better where Azwel is.

What I also want to know is, if you buy season pass seperately do you then miss out on the "100 Customisation parts" that comes with the deluxe edition?

No, as the customization parts are part of the season pass. There is nothing exclusive to the Deluxe Edition aside from the steelbook and the soundtrack, but that's also available in the Collector's Edition. The video that @Univra just posted confirmed that the soundtrack is incomplete, though, as expected, so unless you just really want the steelbook, you'd be fine just buying the base game and then the season pass, and you'd lose nothing. It's been said before, but just for added clarity, there are also no pre-order bonuses aside from the Best Buy Talim mini-figure and the GameStop Ivy FiGPiN. Nothing that matters in term of game content, just small trinkets.

Aside, but I still really wish that the Collector's Edition statue was Nightmare instead of Sophitia. It would have been soooo much better.

OK now i'm finding this intriguing, supposedly 'Cervantes' has to perform 12 gun shots which ever way weather in combo or shooting straight or in air he'll then have access to this combo. whats intriguing is the fact that im hearing other characters have hidden property's as well like 'Tira' for example that she needs 9 gloomy s and she stays gloomy for the rest of the match. Maxi's stance flashes aren't actual jfs but a sign towards his seven stars rebirth mechanic which im yet to see. This game is looking more and more bad ass and cant wait to see what else is there hidden. imagine all characters with hidden attributes that shits cool as fuck!
