Soul Calibur VI: General discussion

I have nothing against Amy or her fans, but she seems too young to me to end up being playable in this game. Who knows I might be wrong, but for now I just don't see it.
 
It's definitely suspicious at least that we've got two characters with very distinct new designs in the story art, yet with Hwang they just seem to be reusing the old design.

Though of course with the season pass we're all assuming it's 3 returnees + a guest, but perhaps the season pass is all normal characters and the guest will be a separate standalone dlc or an extra bonus or something (if they're really still working things out with the guest they couldn't completely guarantee its inclusion). Would be kind of silly but not unheard of I think.
 
Pretty sure the new Amy design is just because we have never seen her this young after being taken in by Raphael. They needed a non-peasant look for her but the other two were when she was at least slightly older.
It could mean something I suppose, but I think everyone is reading too far into this stuff.

Most characters on the roster appear very similar to previous games. In some cases there are only very subtle changes.

Yeah, exactly this. They weren't going to have the SPOILER keep the same clothes for the whole story. I really don't think this is a sign of anything.
 
You know I'm thinking we'll probably see some characters cameo in everyone's story mode;

Astaroth = Rock, the Cult & Berserker
Seong Mi-Na = Hwang & Assassin
Mitsurugi (Kokonoe &/or Setsuka maybe even Arthur)
Siegfried = Salia & Hilde
Nightmare = Inferno & Lizardman
Maxi = Chie & Li Long
Xiangua = Papi
Kilik = Xianglian & Edgemaster
Raphael = Amy
Talim = Yun-Seong
Azwel = Algol
Sophitia = Rothion & Cassandra
Taki = Toki
Ivy = Geralt
Voldo = Vercci
Cervantes = Dampierre
Yoshimitsu = Other Yoshimitsu
Zasalamel = Abyss & Guardians of the Spirit Sword
Geralt = Guest Character 2
Groh = Zwei
Tira = Solnhofen

If anything it seems like even if we don't have all the characters we would like in the game it is really cool of PS to at least cameo characters in this one to show they haven't been forgotten and are possible DLC or SCVII material if the game sells well enough.

I think I'm probably going to be taking my leave from the general discussion/roster speculation threads for a while as I want there to be some surprises when I play through the game. I think I'll stick to the technical part of the website until release.

There is no Rock or Berserker cameo in Astaroth's story. Aeon's in it, however.

Yea, i'm leaving this site until i get the game.

I just want to say thank you all for the entertainment, discussions, laughs, cries (MUH SETSUKA </3), anger, and most importantly cancer. 85% of this thread (and the older one) is cancer but it was still entertaining and it felt like we were one big disoriented family. <3

I'll be back when it's time to anticipate the DLC characters/reveals. Hopefully i'll see you guys online on PS4 or Steam.

But until then:

I'm starting to get a bit concerned for online matches and if CAS or any custom edits are even available. Some comments have been thrown around that we may not get the normal character select for ranked matches and that sentiment carried over to casual as well because of how Arcade is apparently handled.

I had this awful thought that maybe the CAS sharing feature is in fact the only way any creations are shown off period and that is the primary reason for its existence. Now i really want to see how the game handles character selecting for online matches to squash this.

If I can't CaS online I'm not playing online. Was almost tempted to give it a whirl after the beta too. Oh well.

The only secret second unlockable character possibility I can picture is if you unlock them by finishing every Soul Chronicle story, or doing every stage in Libra of Soul.

Lizardman requiring you to do all of Libra of Soul would be a nice throwback to SCII Lizardman requiring you to finish all of Weapon Master, though it'd of course be a pain for tournaments unless there was a cheat code for him or 'unlock everything' dlc or something.
