Tira being DLC and Lizardman possibly being CAS created has thrown me through a loop. I have no clue who's left for the base roster now.

My hopes for Cassandra have grown. I still need to temper my expectations in case of disappointment though.

Groh would not be the first character to be adopted.
Yeah, I'm just not seeing it. Nothing to indicate Groh is from India. Also, for what it's worth, Vergeben just said that this guy is certainly not his father either.

Lizardman ain't CAS only. We saw his signature shield/ax in the trailer.

It's not impossible that his axe isn't a weapon under Sophitia's style, much like Leixia had a couple of Yun-seong's swords in SoulCalibur V.
I can't see Sophitia using an ax and it wouldn't even fit her style of movement.

Also, when Lizardman had the axe and shield the hands he used were opposite to Sophitia and Cassandra. With Soph having her shield in her left hand with her sword in the right, while Lizzy had shield right axe left.

In the clip he's using the weapons in the same hands as Sophitia. It could end up being Sophitia's weapon, it takes nothing to give her an axe and shield option. But I could end up being wrong.

I can't see them making Lizardman, a prominent character as shown in the story trailer, as a CAS avatar. He fills a niche, and he looks too distinct. I'm calling it now, he's in the game.

The Libra of Souls trailer showed the CaS Lizardman(SCIII/IV Version). The story mode Lizardman has a Sword & Shield again. I trust Hayate when he said Lizardman would be on the main roster as a bonus character having no story mode of his own, but is in the main story as henchmen.

It can go either way. His distinct look is still here, it's just now here as a CaS character and his implementation into the story could easily be a CaS creation.

That said if Lizardman does make it into the game I think he will be called Aeon to distinguish him from all the others.

Nah, I doubt it. He's the iconic Lizardman, and that was his name at this point in time.

I think so too.

The entire race is called Lizardman, it would make sense to differentiate the main one from them if he's not CaS.

But the characters' names aren't Lizardman.

The Lizardman army aren't going to have unique names while the main one has the generic 'Lizardman' name. That makes no sense.
I still doubt that he'll be his own character, it makes sense that he is CaS.

The CAS character is individual, not part of the army. And no, it makes ZERO sense.

A CaS created Lizardman is whatever the story wants them to be.

What about Lizardman being CaS makes zero sense to you?

Give the preset Sophitia's style and you have SCI/SCII era Lizardman. If one of her weapon customs is an axe and shield then the Lizardman preset will look like SCIII/SCIV era Lizardman.

How does that not make sense?
  • He has little to no impact on the story so he doesn't need his own storymode
  • The preset can be used in the story as an opponent
  • A CaS Lizardman means we don't loose his iconic look
  • It matches with SCI/SCII era Lizardman who was a Sophitia clone

Lizardman is kind of iconic and a staple of the series?

Besides, the artwork of Lizardman we saw is too distinct to be a mere CAS.

He's still in the series, he's just CaS in this installment.

Which makes sense story-wise as SCI was when he was no different from any other Lizardman. The brief glimpse we've got was not that distinct from the CaS preset. It has a sword and shield like Sophitia and it could easily be an image of him with one of her custom weapons.

I think Aeon is a lock now, as is Hwang/Yun. Just not enough characters to fill all those slots at this point.

So for sure in my mind:
Cervantes
Aeon
Hwang
Raphael

Everyone seems to think Rock, but it still would seem weird to me that they would make Asta's style MORE like Rock's then give Rock his own slot. I think he could be a slot swap for Asta though. Cass I feel has to be in, but if she's not going to be a part of the story, maybe there is one surprise there.
