The Resolution thread!!

as it stands now, from my view of playing against both characters, i can say that they are not broken. until you prove to me otherwise that they are that i will consider your terrible idea of banning.

Want a proof? Well for one, you could begin with Maxi. If you can find a way for Maxi to go throw a bubbletard's bubble shield, then you'll be right that Algol is not broken against Maxi.

Then we'll do the same with Talim. And then Yoshimitsu.

You said I'm doing too much theory fighting. But that's where we are. We can't throw Maxi versus Algol in a match without some theory plan.
If you can't approach Algol, you can't do shit. So theory applies.

And who did all these Algol and Hilde characters fight against? hilde, and Algol? Kilik? Sophitia? Cassandra? Ivy? Mitsurugi?
How many of these Algol and Hilde players fought against Yoshimitsu, Maxi, Talim, Cervantes, Lizardman, Raphael, Rock, Seong Mina, Setsuka, Siegfried, Taki, Tira, Zasalamel, Xianghua, and Yun Seong?

If you're idiotic enough to think there aren't serious, competitive tournament players that haven't used the vast majority of the characters in your second list to beat Algol/Hilde, then it simply goes to show you have no idea what you're talking about.

Yeah.

That's why I said "possibly most."

Kilik dominates "possibly most" of his matchups. Sophie dominates "possibly most" of her matchups. They are still unbanned. Your argument continues to hold no water.

Better yet Plume, tell me how well does Maxi and Talim match up to Hilde? Bad match ups occur, especially with Maxi. Maxi wins on one factor alone -opponent lack of knowledge-. Any good X, Taki, Hilde or Kilik is going to destroy.com your average maxi in an even match. If the Maxi is a better PLAYER, he wins the bad match up, Algol is no exception. Utilizing Maxi's 33B max range, FC1A max range and keeping Algol locked down with clever guard stun traps will do plenty good. I beat an Algol player from ATL at SB3 with Maxi.

Point in fact, yes Algol has some REALLY good match ups. But so do 50% of the characters in this game. Besides Yoshi, has PLENTY of options against bubble shield, I dunno why you threw him in there.

I really can't see why some of you are clinging to this stuff so hard. The bans were put in place as more of a precaution, to make sure the characters didn't ruin the game early and kill off enthusiasm for the young game. When a game comes out, a lot of shit looks broke at a cursory glance. Back when the game came out, everyone thought Hilde, Asta and Kilik sucked. Now look at it... I don't need to provide more examples do I?

It's so damn pointless...
If you want to find a solution, maybe the first step would be to only answer if you have something to say other than saying "no you're wrong and you're idiotic because I say so."

*checks hilde ban thread*

you were the guy that said that algol should be banned, but then you said, flat-out, that you didn't really try to find anything except for trying some specific move against a specific bubble attack.

i'm going to say this in the least scathing way possible:

at first i was willing to say "ok, well he's ignorant of algol and hilde and what to do against them. that's ok because that's a common complaint with most people who lose: they don't know what the hell they're doing." now, you're insisting a ban until the people who play said characters tell you exactly how to beat them using your character? you are starting to border on the line of stupidity at this point.

here's the best advice i can give:

Do you have a video? I want to see how hard he tried to use a bubble shield against you.

Besides Yishi, has PLENTY of options against bubble sheild, I dunno why you threw him in there.
True... Short range teleport. No wait, Algol can easily escape and start a bubble shield again.
Hmmm he can go up there in the sky above all the bubbles. ...Until Algol uses 8A+B.
He can ... probably do other things, yeah.

Plume your argument is so ridiculously bad that we can't even take it seriously. You are the one making the accusation of brokeness here so it's your job to provide proof. Prove to us that Maxi can't beat Algol.

Oh, I said that? When exactly? All I remember is me saying that I did try to find solution, but since the solution was not really a solution, I didn't bother using it, since it was bound to fail, ...because it was not really a solution.

But if what you understand by that is that I didn't try, then fine. You need new glasses.

god it hurts to know that you fail explaining that you failed before you even got to fail.

holy shit this is ignorant. i'm done with this thread. you can't win an argument against someone who doesn't know how to play the game.

People have posted reasons why they believe you're incorrect and why they do not favor a ban, primarily based on lack of evidence. Evidence would consist of Algol/Hilde/any top tier character consistently dominating high end matches regardless of player skill, or some kind of general consensus among the community regarding an ability that would completely destroy the mechanics of the game (such as Akuma in ST2).

Putting your fingers in your ears and yelling loudly to avoid having to change your preconceived notions is not intellectually honest.

Well as I said earlier, I'm not here to ban Algol. I'm here to hear solutions to beat Algol. But if there's no way for some characters to beat any decent bubbletard, then damn, go ahead and ban that thing.
Not that I care, since I'm not a tournament player. I'd rather hear solutions for everyone to beat Algol[edit: solutions for everyone to go through the bubble shield. Algol character knowledge doesn't matter if you can't get past the bubble shield.] (And avoid Hilde's combo.)

Go post in the Maxi section for Maxi solutions to Algol.

lol most recent posters on these boards takes posting WAAYYYY too seriously.

In the end, the people that matter are going to do what is right, the rest of the complainers will be an afterthought. The community moves on with the unban and most haters quietly will fall in line (once they see everyone around them getting over it) and the few butt hurt internetsians that are left to lament our decisions... will wander off and start complaining about whatever their new flavor of the month game is - somewhere else.

As I thought, you have no video to show how your Maxi supposedly beat Algol... (Who, I'd be willing to bet, was not using a bubble shield against you, or simply didn't use it well.)

Clever disguise!... Samurai Punk, IS THAT YOU!?

The esolution thread!!

though I think that is yet to happen because people aren't playing Algol at his maximum effectiveness...

This is true because the game is still somewhat new and people are still losing to things they havent seen and/or players they havent played enough casuals with. So everybody doesnt know how everybody else plays yet. Once everyone does, thats when the consistent wins will start and thats when we see who really will dominate the tournament scene.
