Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

I'm currently borrowing this game. Anyone wanna go round one day? I suck though.
My team as of now is based around Felicia. Magneto and Chun-li are my supporters.

Go Pocky Neko! Nyaaaa!

If you're on PSN, I'll take you on. I'm not particularly good and I still haven't really picked a team. I kinda like Dormammu, Thor and Zero, but granted, I haven't been very successful.

I reached a point in this game where I only lose if their is lag, most people don't know how to stop hulk since everyone uses the same team of people. Anyways I am planning on going to EVO and I think I will be using a tournament only team. Thinking Doom, Wolv and the my third is up for debate.

In online defense, Hulk is really buffed online. His strings become way better and a lot of his unsafe cancellable stuff becomes a psuedo mixup because of the frames lost. On top of that, it's easy to get hit by his j.h ->j.s and by attacks with decent range in general online because of the frames lost and the lag time between the initial startup of a backdash, it's cancel, and return to standing online.

Thats true but online the faster characters get the same boost, also hulk gets a handicap online since his command throws are way to unsafe to use online. I think the main reason I win is because people can't mash cr.L against hulk since he eats it and punishes it. Also the shit people try to abuse online gets punished by hulk, like haggars pipe and tron's j.H. also wolverines dive kick gets punished by hulks s.M same with trish. I can also out zone people with hulk since they forget that they can super jump on hulk. For the most part I get wins because most online players are sheep that just do what everyone else does. Bleh I can't wait to go to some offline tourneys for MvC3

Anyone got any tips for how I should use Thor? I seem to have trouble advancing or closing in on the enemy. Could also use some tips for Dormammu's Liberation attacks.

You should probably be flying around with thor and droping that elbow with your assist covereing you. Though I don't play thor so I'm just talking from what I've seen.

For Dorm you should be charging up on those dark spells every chance you get. Some people differ on what liberation they like, Some like 3D0C since it's a full screen explosion that leads into hyper. Personally I like 1D2C since I can add more damage to my S M M H S Dark dimension 1D2C liberation dark hole/ purification chaos flame. I would post some links to Dorm liberations combo's but I cant find the one where it has all of them grouped together.

Windstar: Learn how to triangle jump elbow into low with Thor. Extremely effective, given that elbow has just about the best priority normal in the game. Covering this with a beam assist would only make this even more effective.

More or less I'm getting slammed in 15 seconds and I can't get my assists out when I want them. Thor's so heavily DP focused that it's hard for me to perform any moves, let alone a triangle jump. But I'm been doing the jump elbow a bit and it has been working, I'm just not sure where to go from there.

You have to learn triangle jump with Thor, just as Zero players all have to learn to hold a button constantly for buster. Thor is already handicapped as is; one of his few weapons is that high priority mobility.

With Thor, that's just the way the ball has to bounce.

You should learn to triangle jump with every character that has the ability to tri-jump. Thor has that move where he charges up and slams into the ground doesnt he? I think it has decent priority so you can start the attack and call an assist at the same time.

Well I spent four hours learning and mastering the Triangle Jump and a few combos so I went online afterwards to try out my new skills.

Only got 2 wins in about 2 hours of play and about 30+ losses. So any other tips? I'm not fighting anyone in particular, just a bunch of random players; so the skill level tends to be all over the map.

Playing online? Use Dorm and teleport behind people for easy cross ups. Honestly though with online and lag trying to tri-jump is going to be weird, what with people not giving a shit about anything but mashing out cr.L. Though you should work on your anti-wolverine, wesker, magneto, zero, dante and Tasky. That's really all your going to see online, throw in a few tron's and haggars for assist and thats 95% of online players. Oh and learn to block against mashed out cr.L. OH how could I forget the Phoenix, you will be seeing a lot of those and they all play exactly the same. Honestly once you figure out the basic pattern for a few players your set against all other online folk.

Honestly, I encounter more Ryu, Akuma and Deadpool than I do Taskmaster or Magneto. I don't encounter Trons or Haggers.

I still haven't picked a third and seem to just to randomly pick one, mostly tried Cap'n and Storm. Kinda thinking I should drop Thor or something. Most of my opponents just spam long range crap (like Deadpool's guns) or spam hurricane kicks. Not sure if I should AG some of the crap spam because it takes forever to get in and if they're close I can usually do something about it (or try to) but not much success. I'm not able to kill one opponent on most fights.

Its impossible to really give advice without playing you and if I'm not mistaken your on PS3 so I can't help you, sorry.

just got this game today after months and months of watching vids and learning and whatnot. trying to run Jill/Ironman/Wesker atm but the last two are subject to change; i definitely want Jill on point tho. definitely need some experience, getting molested atm.

I would be up for some matches in Marvel 3, I haven't played this game in about a month (all I do is watch tourney streams but no practice :( ... )

I think I may need to refresh myself into playing some Capcom games...

All I've been playing recently is SCIV and MK9 (I loves dis game!!)

I would really like to face someone decent and all, my friend pretends it's street fighter and crouch blocks and mashes cr.L all day, it's boring, I dunno, maybe it's because it's a Capcom fighting game (never liked them all), but anyways... I'm up for some matches, just send me a message saying you from 8wr and we can battle!!!

Forgot to mention: I'm on PSN

PSN ID: CrazyGuillen

I'm on ps3. Play me if ya want.

I do remember the whole deadpool thing giving me problems when I had barely started to use hulk though. Now its no problem since getting in on people isn't that hard after I learned how to cancel dashes. If deadpool is on the ground and is shooting you with straight trigger happy then jump at him. If he is doing that super jump trigger happy then try and dash in before he has a chance to land. For the akuma assist you can attack him at certain points depending on which character your using. With hulk I push block him away and just punch him out of the air since super armor absorbs one hit.

I think MVC3 is a good game. but I traded it because I had no time for it. I wanted to take BBCS2 and MK9 serious. I felt I couldn't pencil in MVC3.
