*UPDATED* Soulcalibur + Bayonetta = Huh?

While its nothing new that Namco has featured guest character designs in previous Soulcalibur games; this new one its a bit of a surprise, considering the source. In a new report from 1up; it has been announced that Mari Shimazaki has optioned to create three costumes for the game, including Leixia's 1P.

Mari Shimazaki was the character designer who came up with Bayonetta. The 1up article also features a bit more information about how Shimazaki found herself with the job, and a drop from Hisaharu Tago in how Bayonetta was one of their original guest character choices, but was excluded because of time constraints. Future DLC?

Now I'm not saying people aren't allowed to have negative opinions and bitch, and I may not have much of an opinion myself since I don't use or care for these characters, but I can appreciate one thing: originality.

People may not like this Ivy, or Tira's hair, but I hope you guys can at least appreciate the fact that the designs are original ideas and not rehashed and redone outfits from previous games like we've seen so many times in the SC series (See: Maxi).

thats harsh, overall these costumes are excellent. But hell everything could use a bit of tweaking, however I will say that I don't think I've ever seen a worse haircut, but her Outfit is my favorite so far, Pros and Cons people!

It's not. This is about outfits designed by Bayoneta's lead artist. It says it very clearly on the article.

Well in the end its my opinion. The dress looks pretty bitchy, not original, not stylish, not much of anything imo. It looks so unfitting..Ivy could get so cool outfits, i feel like they missed an opportunity. BTW i think Bayonetta is one of the worst chars too...so i might just dont like the style of the guest designer.

Personal preference.

I would have never guessed that Leixia's outfit was designed by Mari. And I love Tira's outfit...just not the hair. I'll probably change her hair in CAS. As for Ivy....meh. That is all.

 

i'm not a HUGE fan of Ivy's 2P...but I'm pretty sure if you change the colors on it, it can look bad ass.
