Viola Video Discussion

I just recently had an online match vs ROME__LGB, apparently he said I suck with my viola because he said I spam with 3B, does it really make me a sucky viola player? Here was our match:

I do get irritated sometimes when I get only negative comments about my gameplay, even one of my frequent online friend said that I spam to much with her <_<
lets have some games sometime, btw lol your not a spammy viola, your friends and those people are lazy players who cant be bothered to use GI so dont worry.
The only thing I would say is 2b after 1A+B, because the 66A+B can be avoided
also 9_8 A+B is very punishable and because you were using at a time the opponent could block be a bit more aware of using it so much next time

pretty good gameplay overall you didnt really have a mix up with the orb but ill have to say that you did fine without one

Ok Here I gotta say, I like this siggy player, lots of mixups and stuff. Does anyone have problems against sigfried too, it's like after his 3B, he will immediatly attack to straight back, very fast 0_0.

Anyway as you can see I've been trying too use viola's 4BK, the timing with me can be a little off, when is it the best time to use it?

To be honest, I think you're trying to use evasion TOO much. Sometimes it's OK to just block.

After 44A BE, use 6B+K 6B 3B after second orb hit. Grants you faaar more damage than just poking him.

Also Sieg's 3B leaves him at pretty good advantage, you shouldn't be trying to attack after it.

That 6AB B+K BE -> 44A+B .. Don't do that. It is REALLY dangerous, the cancel is slow, and you'll get punished hard by higher level players after they see it the first time. Reacting to it is pretty easy.

As far as where yo use 4B+K, use it when you think they're going to use a vert. Or when the most dangerous part of their mixup is a vert that you don't want to block. TBH, 4B+K isn't a move you should use much because it doesn't grant a whole lot, and most the time you'd have been better off stepping. But In some strings it can be used well.

Damn how I wished that 4B+K was a nice counter like Asuka's b+1+3 in Tekken. Isn't there something we can do after sigfrieds 3B? Can we sidestep after 3B or does his followup attack track?

To avoid everything Sieg has after his 3B (held version of course) you need a move in which you both step left and TC. In Viola's case that move is 89B - inputted exactly like that, other inputs won't work because his K tracks quite well. Using 8~brief pause~9 will make you step further. Held version of 89B works so theoretically Sieg should eat a half-life combo everytime Viola blocks his held 3B. If he doesn't hold 3B it should still be safe to do. The only problem is it requires you to be very quick - 89B must be inputted as soon as possible for it to work, so you must perfectly and instantly recognize Sieg's 3B.

Sieg can still beat step into 33B by tapping forward to realign, then interrupting with SCH K, but if he does this expecting you to step and do 33B, the knee will be interruptable if you just stand there and do something fast.

Thanks I'll try that one!
Ok one more question, let's say I just guard his 3B, do I have more advantages or do I have to rely on her 89B ?
(Sorry for asking so many questions, it's just that I want to improve my skills!)

Im almost sure JG allows you to interrupt his knee with BB, dunno if anything slower works

Just got scv today add my psn Karrdein for matches I'm looking for some critique on my viola but can take ciders and ipload them

Anyone seen this? I know it's an anti-viola video but I think it'll help some of us know what NOT to do in certain situations

Yeah I saw it lol, something tells me some ppl will still hate her anyways lol. That's why I love Viola (and Leixia).

I really want to upload videos but I need to get a camera, im not that good with her yet though.

Get a flash drive and stick it in your ps3 and upload them to the flash drive. That's what I did abd turned out great look above
