Voldo Character Matchups Thread

I'd imagine Voldo would do well against Asty in close range. As long as you're effective with your TCs, and don't misuse Voldo's stances you could do a lot of damage. If you're good at dodging, you could probably punish Asty hard at mid range. Of course, I don't really use Voldo, so I can only recall stuff from fighting him, and knowing a bit of his moveset.
 
I haven't had any problems using Voldo against Asty/Nighty. 6:6B punishes Astaroth for free and Nightmare is pretty much always going to do whatever move has the highest probability of ringing you out or moving you closer to the edge. My hardest fights so far have been Cassandra and Siegfried. Cassandra because EVERYTHING is safe, and Siegfried because Voldo's throws just whiff on him.
 
sophie is a harder matchup than cassie in my opinion. she just does too much easy damage. casandra ha to work for it a lil more. nighty is mor a prob for me bc of his frame trap style of play
 
A lot of Tira players attack low from what I've seen. When facing her, try not to Mantis Crawl to much 'cause she'll do some major damage.
 
Ok vs Mitsu I can actually post advices... 1A you just need to learn how to block and 2K,B nobody sees on reaction so just guess mid or low and punish him hard for guessing wrong. 2K,B gives free 1[K] combo for good wakes and learn when you can and cant use 6:6B to punish for free damage because mitsu gives up ALOT of it. Also 4B used for evasion moves back alot less at his feet so 236B makes him rethink doing it
 
Something-Unique's Kilik owns my Voldo. Part of that is Something-Unique being a better player, part of that is goddamn Asura Dance and WS B. I think a lot of Voldo's damage comes from 2A+B~CR mixups while his opponent is grounded and Kilik has so many OTG options that own 2A+B. I would say this is in favor of Kilik.
 
anybody havin trouble with maxi? i cant seem to punish an he keeps movin out the way. it may b bc i dont have general knowledge of the character or maybe someone knows sumthin i dont. suggestions?
 
Guard Impact Maxi. I find his attacks are pretty easy to impact compared to other characters. And use lots of pokes.
 
Whenever i play Voldo, i can't ever remember beating a Taki. Some players are just too quick for me =(
 
Voldo actually owns Taki really hard. A+B tech crouches pretty quickly and leads into good damage combos so you can stuff her high bullshit. 1B will go under a lot of her crap, including mids. If Taki does 1BA into PO, CR B will beat every single option she has except PO 8K. Even if she does PO sidestep or PO hover, you'll go right past her and she's not in range to punish a whiffed CR B. If you know that she's going into hover, though, you can just do 236, wait for her to land, and do BS WR B, BS 1[K], BS 2B+K, MCHT 66 for 83 damage + MCHT wakes. Also if you know she's going to do PO 8K after a 1BA you can do 1B and it will beat PO 8K. 4A+K also lays the smack down on Taki...
 
Who would you say are the worst matchups for V

I have trouble with Tira and Siegfried more so then Nightmare i find nightmare relatively easy to predict

Voldo cant seem to throw The Apprentice from behind, it happens all the time online, not that i ever lose to Apprentice but its bloody annoying! Anyone else find this happens all too often?
 
well the apprentice does have a force throw escape by pressing A+B. it uses his force gauge and he breaks all throws with it. the animation is him looking like he's charged an a light comes from him, is that whats happening?

I struggle against decent Cassandra's but having said that, its only because i am not familiar with her move set. I also have issues with decent sophitias but i am now beginning to understand her patterns.

How do you Voldos find Zaslamel as an opponent?
