*votes SCII best OST in gaming*

I did love SC2's soundtrack, but it probably ties with 3's for me. In 2, I loved Hellfire the most, as well as the Library stage and the Indian Port theme. The Eurydice Shrine music was awesome too.

In 3, No Regrets, Molten Caverns, Lost Cathedral, and Castle Siege were my absolute favorites.

Couldn't find Hellfire or lost Cathedral...But they were damn good!

Oh, SB intro is amazing, as is the rest of thr soundtrack. I hated Siegfried's voice there, though...

"Epic Calling" and an "Oath of the Sword" are much better than a "The Stage of History". I know opinion is subjective, but I don't see why to like the SC1 character select better than the Soul Blade character select. Epic Calling and The Stage of History are the same type of song, only the older game has 50 times better sound quality to make the song sound full.

The youtubing is is cool, but a bit much now. I would like to see comments without scrolling through 50 youtube videos. Someone already mentioned the link to Glabadia Hotel. I honestly don't think we need to put every track in every game up on this thread, and several tracks from SC2 up multiple times.

Thread starter...that's a bold statement lol. Snake Eater alone owns this thread. Tree frogs son..tree frogs

I don't think the music got worse in the series as much as the atmosphere and ambiance losing it's cultural charm. They kinda go hand and hand.

Nostalgia aside, SC3 really did have some standout tracks that people look past because the experience overall kinda sucked. Raph/mitsu's/setukas stage muisic were awesome...and a huge contributor to that was that the stages had character. Imo that's what makes it seem epic.

kinda sux though, the atmosphere is kinda what drew me to the series in the first place and 4 definitely doesn't have that epic feel save like two stages. That, and alot of the level design suck layout wise. X's stage feels way to cramped, and that stage actually has a good amount of detail and character...you just can't see it

some game OST's that don't get enough props:

Parasite eve
Ridge Racer RT4
FF8 :)
Persona 3
RE 1-2 and code veronica

oh yeah, and that new prince of Persia looks like it's shaping up nice

Ever heard of a hyperbole?

This thread wasn't to argue what's the best soundtrack; infact I made a video game OST thread for just that purpose.

...and this thread is about SC2's music...not go off on a random tangent about level design.

i liked the sc2 soundtrack. My fave song on there was chasing downstream. Also soul blade had some really good ones. Moonlight shadows(li long) was awesome.

I agree R4 had an amazing soundtrack.

I know I'm breaking the mood on here, but except SCIV which I haven't listened well, SCII is the Soul game I like the OST the least.
And it's closely related to SCII being the one I liked the least overall as I tend to give the BGMs a waaaay overproportioned importance on fighters.

How the fuck can you have a thread about music in the soul series without mentioning BRAVELY FOLK SONG:

Arcade version:

Arranged version:

IMHO the arcade version is better. But still...that theme MADE Cervantes. Also deserving of honorable mention are:

A Continental Gale

Moonlight Shadows

Soul Blade's music (Khan Session, Arcade and Arranged versions) shits on everything else in the series. This is not my opinion it's a scientific fact. Khan Session needs to be DLC for SC4.

A continental gale for the motherfucking win, I never listened to the version he had up there because I'm so much in love with the arcade version of it

Arcade ver:

Also, it seems no one likes the original coliseum music from soul blade...I cannot accept this.

Arcade ver:
I like the arranged too, but something about this version makes it seem more serious...I dunno.

As for SC2, SW already posted the one that sticks out in my mind the most. Confrontation is just too good, any music that can actually get me hype before the match even starts is welcome in my book. I was so disappointed that they took it out in sc4...but then again it was in sc3 too. Doesn't make that suck any less though.

I wasn't blown away by sc4 music for the most part, the only ones that really caught my attention was reign of doom and glacial colosseum. I like reign of doom because I think it goes well with the NICE ass stage, even if the song gets repetitve (good, but repetitive). Glacial colosseum however is the one song in sc4 that made me go "Oh ****!!!" when I first heard it. Listen to it moar.

Glacial Colosseum

There's so much better OST music of gaming out there... Calibur ain't by far the best, Soul Edge still owns it hard. More searching you must do =)

epic calling is generic sounding as shit.

stage of history is the most rustic, most epic sounding horn sample ever.

beyond the horizon the orig was way better than the soul3 remake. it was jazzed up to much and the main melody was a note or so higher with a weird synth to it.

my fav song is beyond the horizon soul calibur.

towards SCII, i like above all 'Eternal Struggle'
but i think SB/SE soundtracks are the best.. aside the monumental opening, i suggest you 'Bravely Folk Song' <3

I like how Bravely Folk Song sounds towards the middle of it. =]

And I agree with ArmLegLegArmHead about what they did to not just Beyond the Horizon but most of the songs in SCIII. They put all kinds of crap in them that they some didtn sound like the original SCI tracks at all.

But my faves in SCII would have to ... well almost all of them. Healing Winds, Destiny Awaits No One, Unwavering Resolve, Maze of Blade, there's too many. I think it's my favourite soundtrack of all the games yet. EDIT: All the games of the Soul series

Close, but even I disagree(and I think II was more or less the best in the series, maybe tied with I if you're nostalgic like me). Final Fantasy Tactics...*dreamy sigh*

I remember this thread from the old forum. Personally I never liked SC2's soundtrack much and I think there are countless games with better soundtracks. SC1 music was the best of the series imo
