Whip State Tips

k im not the best with ivy, but i've come to learn some good combo's lately, but one move i can never get to land, is whip states unblockable 4a+b, the one where she raises her(sexy) leg high in the and and slams it down. its there a combo or move i could do before it to ensure it lands?

Hi, I think you're referring to Coiled 4A+B. This move is pretty useless because it's extremely linear and very easy to step. You will probably never see this move land in high level play.

There's all kinds of info you can find here in the Ivy SA if you do a bit of searching.

I recommend reading the first page of this: http://8wayrun.com/threads/sciv-ivy-general-discussion-faq.27/

I've seen in a video were a player does Ivy's whip 3A after 66B and hits the player again with 3A.
It goes like this --> (66B+3A+3A+etc.)
I've tried practicing it, but the opponent ususally falls to the ground before the second 3A can hit them. I have managed to make the attacks connect at one point, but that almost never happens and the method I used to achieve it were no different that the ones before. I thought distance played a factor during 66B, but that's not the case. Does anyone know how to let the second 3A hit after the first one stuns an opponent?

They have to be at a certain distance, and I believe counter hit on 66B may also effect this.
I can rarely get two WP 3As after 66B, but if you're at tip range, and they counter the 3A, more often than not, you can get a second in.

You have to be just within reach of WP 3A for it to work. You may also need a counter hit to succeed this. I would suggest using Coiled State 236 BB afterwards for a simple short combo. Try to avoid using WP 66 A+B as the opponent can Ukemi to avoid it.
