Wind Dancing - Talim Combos and More!

Unfortunately I don't do as good as you guys.
I play against some of the best playas in Japan.

Haha. well to be honest I haven't really won much at tournaments either. I won three matches (but only one w/ Talim) at VGXPO back in November, and my match against 350z was my only tournament victory since joining 8WR in mid December.

Talim's just hard to win with. But doing so makes it that much sweeter due to the challenge.

I haven't won a match in a comp yet.
Have won a few rounds and some have been close (and that's in over 6 years, haha).

I'm tryin to show/prove that Talim's not a pushover.
Ya the victories are so sweet!;)

Tested the above new combo:
with the AI on Random Air Control this usually hit :2::3::6::B:, :A::+::K:, :A::A:
but with the AI on Back Air Control it usually only hit up to the :A::+::K:
Ya it does look cool though!
Maybe :2::3::6::B: :A::+::B:, :2::3::6::A:, :2::3::6::B: would be a cool one too (I still have probs hittin that move so don't really use it, keep tryin to prac it though).

Thanks for the tips JP.

And Zero, it can be Air Controlled and usually is, but it works 80% of the time for me on and offline.

Couple more wall combos...

>ws :A:+:B:, (wallstun), :3::3::A: (wallstun), :3::B::Ah:, WC :B:::B:, :A::A::B: - 82 dmg (14 hits)

>ws :A:+:B:, (wallstun), :3::3::A: (wallstun), :3::B::Ah:, :A:+:B:, :2::3::6::A:, :2::3::6::B: - 79 dmg (16 hits)

*Those two are completely guaranteed. The trick is not to rush the 33A input. If done too quickly you'll get 3A instead and whiff. If you get that random shakeable stun off of 33A then you won't be able to land those combos, However, you can land these if it isn't shaken...

>ws :A:+:B:, (wallstun), :3::3::A: (stun), :A::A::6::B::A:~:2:_:8: WC :K: (wallstun), :3::B::Ah:, WC :B:::B:, :A::A::B: - 90 dmg (17 hits)

>ws :A:+:B:, (wallstun), :3::3::A: (stun), :A::A::6::B::A:~:2:_:8: WC :K: (wallstun), :3::B::Ah:, :A:+:B:, :2::3::6::A:, :2::3::6::B: - 87 dmg (21 hits)

So, um... it's probably better to get the stun, as most people won't expect it and try to shake (it seems very random). But if you don't you can do the first one for 80+ dmg without armor breaking.

You know, I'm beginning to think that 3B,[A] will connect off of just about any wallsplat Talim has. It works after 66B (or WL B), WC K, 33A, even after the B+K unblockable if it they're not right up against the wall. Which by the way can give Talim a 100+ dmg wall combo. But I don't think anyone's gonna land the B+K unblockable in that fashion. Shame the move doesn't TC throughout the animation like 66A+B.

Maybe we should make a new list in the wiki concerning all the new wall combo's and stun combo's wich were found? Also we don't have a combo guide there so it must be done anyway.

However I don't have a clue how to do that. I would gladly like to help on it if someone taught me to.

well hey, i just found something pretty hilarious out. If i mentioned it a while ago, i dont remember.

So, I was explaining the fakeleap to somebody, and i figured out that you can actually take BOTH hops from the BT WL from it. (From what I remember, I couldnt figure out how to do this when I found the fakeleap).

When you fakeleap (11B -> WC -> 3_6_9) continue to hold 3_6_9, then press and hold B+K (just like you would a BT WL). The thing is, you must press and hold B+K as she starts the WL.

You have until her feet leave the ground to be holding B+K (if you do it too early, you'll do WC B)

It's because (like we know), she's doing her BT WL. The command to do 2 BT WL's is [B+K]. Well, when you're doing the fakeleap, the game reads 3_6_9 to start the first one, but it requires you to still do B+K for the second one. Soooo you enter them both at the same time.

So it's pretty kool. Now we can back up even more. Cause ya know, that's what we want to do. We want to get away from people *rolls eyes*. I will tell you what IS hilarious about this though. HOW BOUT THREE FUCKING WINDLEAPS IN A ROW? 2 fake leaps -> WL. Oh man somebody's gunna get their ass rope-a-doped.

*if my 2:30 am mumbo-jumbo is retarded, i can make a video to show/explain everything*

I know exactly what you mean. When I first learned of this fake WL trick from you I tried this to see if it worked and it did. Though, using 3 WLs puts Talim really far away. I recorded myself doing the three WLs into the Windsault K fake into As A+B once in training mode and puts Talim like a couple steps in front of her original position. Pointless, but entertaining indeed.

Aight.

I actually think I can find some good use for it, i just gotta go fuck around vs people again. I kinda have a feeling that, with a little work, I can start getting people to step into my WLs. That way, i can go back to landing WL A! And then I can be a happy Talim! -does the Talim dance-

... and if that doesnt work i'll just go back to bashin niggas over the head with mah shield.

What would be awesome, though downright impossible, is if you did 3 WL and then did 3 AS K:G JF's back to where you were lol.

Seriously though, it's probably impossible, and possibly useless, since AS doesn't track. Did anyone ever confirm if multiple AS K:G JF's were possible? I remember OOF saying somewhere that it might not be.

Anyway, since I'm learnin' AS K:G now, that might be good practice, so I'll give it a shot.

AS K can't be stepped. It has to be fully walked using 8WR, so if that was possible you should have at least some slight tracking by using that. I've neither seen nor gotten multiple AS K:Gs to work myself, so I'm not sure if it's possible.

I found an interesting tech trap. After counter hit 3B, 22B tech catches all except to her left (opponent's right)
I looked through to see if it was already listed but didn't find it. So here it is.

^By the way, Dogysamich, I found your post about ducking a BB....

yeah 22B launches as a tech trap... and if you get the AS B:K to land afterwards it does more damage than using the CH 3B[A] staple combo.

As for IWC, I didn't think about that. I'll have to try it later. Though lately my IWC input percentage has been slowly dropping. I used to get it 85% of the time but right now it's probably closer to 60%....

If it launches, then that's probably her better option, since it hit's grounded as well, and IWC doesn't. I might test later, to see damage difference, but I think 22B probably does more, since IWC is dependant on when they tech. If they tech standing up, then it's full damage, but if they tech to the side, it's usually ground damage.
