Right because the sole criteria for "enough characters" is how many some other game has. Melty Blood has like 100.

It's pretty much implied though. They're not gonna give away free characters, too much work, and they *could* charge.

You should never use Melty Blood as a positive example for anything anywhere.

As a major FG franchise it seems strange to me that we have such a small roster. Especially due to the conspicuous absence of certain characters in this game. All signs point to rushjob.

I just think the contrast is pretty interesting. Sorry I offended your delicate sensibilities. :P

And anyway, is there even any such thing as enough? Nonsense!

I can only see two reasons why someone would say no:
1) they don't want to spend the money on the DLC, which will become a mandatory-compatbility super patch that contains the new characters + balance patching.
2) they dont' want others to play with a new character that could potentially stomp their faces in.

It's a competitive disadvantage to not have a DLC character, although not a huge one.
 
What I'm honestly hoping for is an adoption of the Capcom method.

I was lukewarm on SFIV. Then Super SSIV came out, adding about ten new characters. It was an all-around improvement. AE was good too. It feels like it came a long way from SFIV.

But I've never seen Namco do that. I've got my fingers crossed.

Soul Edge versionB!

At this point I have to agree with you though, I'd love DLC chars, but I like the expansion model more overall at this point.

They could package in kingdom mode too, then all would be well!
 
For DLC, I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and say:
1. Talim. I LOVED her in Soul Calibur 2. Her moveset changed and it was like poof. Gone. But I still want her character, I would love to see her in the future.
2. Cassandra. No reference was made to her in Soul Calibur V. Sophitia's dead. She might be as well, and that disappoints me. Even if it probably will not happen, I can still hope.
3. Zasalamel. He can reincarnate into ANYTHING. Does not age, immortal, concept easy to understand and he was cool imo. I want him back.
4. Setsuka. Alpha Patroklos just doesn't quite cut it for me. Even though she
defeated Mitsurugi prior to the events of Soulcalibur V and also taught Patroklos her fighting style
I'm still hoping for more.

Yeah. I just get the feeling that if we get anything it's going to be all at once or not at all.

Here's to hoping this game turns a good enough profit. If it does we might just see an expansion.
 
Cjdiddy: Where does that info in your spoiler come from (if it's official)? I see it on the wiki, but it doesn't provide any sources...
 
I would really pay double the price to the game just to see these 5-6 characters who should be available in the first place make it into the game

-Zasalamel: Easily one of the most popular styles. He had a huge fanbase and everyone was expecting him to return since he doesn't age and he played an important part in SC Storyline
-Yun-Seong/Hwang: The Chinese Blade discipline was there from Sould Edge, there is no excuse for them to remove it. Yun-Seong had become the Hwoarang of Soul Series...Can you imagine a Tekken game without Hwoarang?
-Bangoo: One of the very first pics Daishi posted on Twitter was that of Rock and Bangoo, so it makes perfect sense that they were pretty much considering to add him. Hell, the whole game was supposed to be a "reboot"...kids of sophitia, daughter of Xianghua, son of Kilik etc... really why leave out Bangoo? (Also game needs one native American character)
-Talim: Not a big fan of her, but I respect she was a SC Classic so she deserves a shot at the roster. It would be good if they based her off her SC2 moveset
-Seong Mi-Na: Yeah, yeah I know Xiba is a mix of Kilik,Yun-Seong and Mina right? That's just some lazy excuse...bring her back with her original moveset plz

If we truly get DLC chars like that though and not just Dampierre, They will almost certainly add a guest character (Ezio or Bayonetta). But I really hope they respect us fans for once and add at least Zasalamel or Talim, that seem to have the most demand. Also, if is it really impossible and time consuming to add them, just give us the styles...
