So there was a time when this website needed advertisements to maintain itself. We tend to see a spike in traffic when a new game is released, so back then, the ads were actually paying to keep this site running. But now, with the lull in traffic, the ads barely pay to keep this website running; in fact, they only account for about 40% of this website's operating costs.

However, even though the ads aren't doing it anymore; doesn't mean this website is closing! Those non-forum sections of this website, the calendar, streams, media library, etc... are all add-ons I've written for this website and then have gone on to sell licenses for other websites. And those license sales more than enough pay to keep our home warm and cozy!

Because of this, I've decided to remove the advertisements for all registered members! If you log into your account here at 8WAYRUN, the ads will go away; they will only be shown to guests, as an incentive to get them to register and join our community. That being said, there are still advantages to becoming a Premium Member, such as username changes, animated avatars, signature images and more...

It looks like it is that wonderful time of the year everybody! Grab your cups and gather some salty tears delivered from the heavens, which is also known as the event known as NEC. For those of you who don't know, NEC (Northeast Championships hosted by @eric) is the biggest Soulcalibur V tournament that will be taking place in December. If you want more information about the event, then check out NEC 16 | Big E Gaming (http://bigegaming.com/nec-16/) or our thread here on 8wayrun in the "Tournament Announcements" section. As of right now, French players confirmed for NEC are Keev, GolD ShaD, Deus Kaliya, and GolD Drataks.

However, the spotlight today is being given to you by GolD ShaD, the creator of an epic video that insults our American players. If you don't know who GolD ShaD is, he is an Alpha Patroklos player who got 4th at NEC 2014 and turned our hero Blueboy into the color red. He has also recently out-placed the Mexican Legend Lolo at the Edge Master Series tournament in London, which transformed him into the Mexican Legend Don Quixote. The heat that has been brought to the kitchen is in the form of a video that trashes LP and essentially challenges him for being known to some as the best Alpha Patroklos.

A couple of days ago, I disabled our old event management system here on 8WAYRUN.com. Some of you noticed, most of you didn't. The reason for disabling our event system was that I was working on a new one! There were several issues with our old one... mostly that it was poorly programmed.

This new version aims to fix many of the issues with the old one, as well as add several new features. This post is not only an announcement of the new system, but also a guide on how to use several of the new features.

Namco Bandai has recently released a Lost Swords tribute video with the game's accolades. This video is closer to being a slideshow than a trailer, but that isn't what we all really care about.

The 2 million downloads is fantastic, but most North Americans don't actually want to play Lost Swords and are yearning for a traditional Soulcalibur game. Now that we have gotten the boring stuff out of the way, let's talk about the juicy parts of the news!

Devil Jin is a character that has been banned since the beginning of Soulcalibur V. Whether your reasoning for wanting him gone was due to his crazy pre-patch ringouts or his Tekken origins, the official reasoning for the ban was from the lack of a character model. This means that we are forced to use character creation mode to access him.

The potential problems with that is that there are certain hitbox issues that can be induced by the custom characters that cause unintended misses or hits. Recently, we have developed a team in response to the online players who use Devil Jin and don't want to go out to tournaments because of the ban.

The rumor mills are spinning! With the Facebook Popularity Poll ending last week, people have been wondering if Namco was about to unveil a new SOULCALIBUR title this year at E3. After all, Lost Swords is over a year old now, and was single player only. A new mothership SOULCALIBUR title tends to come out every 3-4 years, so now would be the time to get this party started.

While E3 opens to the public on Tuesday, the event actually begins for the press on Sunday. With the Microsoft keynote airing on Monday morning, and Sony during the evening, we could know the details within the next few days. As we all know, Project Soul recently held a poll on the official Soulcalibur Facebook page asking which characters were your favorite ones, the list consisting of all playable characters throughout the series (not including bonus characters that were playable in Soulcalibur III and IV). Well, the poll has now closed and the results have been posted on the Facebook page for everyone to see! It has been speculated that this could influence the roster for a potential Soulcalibur VI so let's hope that Project Soul can revive some of those old souls for us.

The "older" characters of the Soulcalibur roster have seemingly dominated the top spots whilst the new breeds have filled up the bottom half of the table suggesting that people are craving for the returns of those who did not make the Soulcalibur V roster such as Talim, Zasalamel and Sophitia.
