We reported a few months ago that SOULCALIBUR VI was added to the official lineup for EVO 2020. EVO 2019 being the largest SOULCALIBUR tournament ever, it was nice to see VI get another year at the premiere event. Unfortunately, due to complications caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus, the event has been officially cancelled. This was just announced on the @EVO twitter.
In addition to the release of Hoahmaru and his stage this weekend, there was a balance patch! BANDAI-NAMCO posted the official patch notes a few hours ago...
We've been waiting patiently for the release of the next character: Haohmaru. Finally the wait is almost over! NAMCO-BANDAI has confirmed that the next sets of DLC will be released on March 31. In addition to Haohmaru, DLC9 will contain costume pieces from Samurai Shodown; most notably costume pieces for Nakoruru.
EVO, the yearly tournament just released their games list for the upcoming championship this summer. Among the staples of Street Fighter, Smash Bros, Marvel and Tekken; SOULCALIBUR also made the list for the second year in a row! Last year's EVO was attended by over 700 players and was won by Yuttoto from Japan.
EVO 2020 takes place this year between July 31 and August 2 in Las Vegas. It is considered the largest and most important fighting game tournament in the world and players tend to save up all year to be able to attend. More information about the event can be found on the EVO website.
For a while now, we've been wondering what Haohmaru would look like in Soulcalibur. Mostly, we wanted to know how he would be different from Mitsurugi. Well at this weekend's EVO Japan 2020 tournament, they revealed the first gameplay trailer for Haohmaru.
Namco-Bandai has made it a point to mention that Haohmaru will not have a story mode in SOULCALIBUR VI. This trailer's story is just for the trailer and will not be further expanded upon in the game itself.

Yesterday, Facebook disabled our connected app here at 8WAYRUN. They claim we are "creating a negative user experience that is in violation of our Platform Policies". Naturally, that vague accusation doesn't mean anything. Trying to get in contact with Facebook about this returns canned responses which in no way give us further details on the problem. As Facebook, like many web platforms have no real customer service; it doesn't look like this problem will get fixed anytime soon.
As such, Facebook integrated features on this website, such as single sign-on may be broken.
