I'm a Swiss player, I've been playing SoulCalibur in seriously (in tournaments) since SoulCalibur2 with Yoshimitsu as my main character. I need some tips how to play against Yoshi, i dont have too much experience against him+ im doing the same stupid mistakes over and over again. Unfortunately i dont have a TV so i cant test stuff right now :)
Apart from that im having big trouble with his aggressive style, he has no respect for my pseudo blockstuns, never crouches and breaks throws very well. Since Yoshi is faster and can punish Cervantes pretty well i find it very hard to break his defense, i almost never get Counterhits etc...i think this is exactly how to play against Cervantes with such a fast char since he can interrupt me so often...

What is Hates doing against you?? I know my defense sucks right now and eating tech traps all the time, but i have a lot more trouble with Cervantes than with Astaroth for example...so this is really Cervy exclusive!

Furzy: Hey! That were awesome matches, you both played very well , especially you, Furzy, played in a fun and flashy way! Sometimes you just exploded with cool stuff that connected and took all Doc's health away! And some cool GI'ing was underway its a very cool watch thank you!
As for punishment I didnt really notice anything wrong with that, I mean vs Cervy you want to definitely punish iGDR , 3B, WS A and 2A+B, and last two are very hard without proper anticipation (can yoshi even punish 2A+B?).
I dont know why you say you're bad in your post? Because you lost to me? But I beat alot of people even world elite players! And many of them really badly too xD. It doesnt mean you're bad. Actually I think you were good from when I played you. have some confidence, you have great skill and good vids.
As for improvement I suggest you get a tv-tuner xD. Your rec quality is good as of now but its probably the most you can get out of your camera.
Overally a very enjoyable display of skill. Some moments on those vids were epic! thanks for the review, im sure were going to post a lot more vids. We play each other since 2 weeks now and during those weeks we both had to adapt day by day, the vids look pretty different than our first matches. Every day some new stupid Yoshi shit i have to deal with.
Yoshi can punish 2A+B just with 2A or MCF if in range, what you forgot is AA against Cervys 3B, which is pretty annoying for me...

@Belial: Thx a lot! It's very nice to read that ^^ Still want my revenge against you though :p The NM you played against would be either Greven or Cliff. Was he a black man? If so, it's Cliff, if not, Greven. I'll try and do some vids of the other geneva players too ^^
@docvizzo: Just begin by blocking all those DGF,K i'm spamming against you and it'll force me to change my game ^^ Also be careful of the T23 move (Jin's ublockable) and the suicide. Other than that, I think you're doing pretty good!

Furzy: Glad you like my Yoshi. =) Nice games. I see you're making good use of Yoshi's strong tech trap game. Here are some things about the Cervy match-up.
- bA is one of Cervy's main tools for closing distance. It's safe, covers lots of range, and sets up pseudo-frame trap stuff. Step to Cervy's right from mid-range if you expect it coming and punish with 33B B+K since you're already moving. Use 3K to disrupt anything he tries to do if you end up blocking bA.
- B2 is a fake frame-trap. 3K stops just about everything he can do from here.
- Use Cervy's lack of range to your advantage. Use 33B to close distance, 11A to poke, and the threat of 66A+B from long range. Find other tools that work for you from mid-long range. You don't always have to be the one to close distance in this match-up.
- Whiff punish. 4KB is a nice for that.
- Don't spam Tekken moves. Many of the Tekken moves are strong, but only in the right situation. I noticed in your second round of videos your use of 23 was much better than in your first round of videos.
I have to agree with your evaluation about not punishing enough. Here are some of the major ones I noticed.

We just know each others play style well enough that it comes down to who can out think who. Two things he does do well in our matches. DocVizzo: Hates does punishes my dangerous lows (FC 3K and DGF K) 100% of the time, making it a gamble on my part. I only use FC 3K sparingly because it's not really worth the risk. Yeah, I meant bK.
IMO, it becomes a pretty even match-up in the end. I imagine it's tough for you right now because you're not familiar with all of Yoshi's gimmicks (which he has a ton of).

oh i was using tech traps a lot after WS A~3A+B, but Furzy stopped teching pretty fast, so i did 22B sometimes, but thats pretty guardable on reaction. I know he techs sometimes, maybe i should start to do it again a bit more. but if i whiff a 44B or WSA it leaves me kind of vulnerable, i have to test whether Yoshi can whiff punish me from the ground...
Unfortunately only good tech traps cervy has are after WSA,3A+B and 44K...there are some more but not very usefull, so normally it works a few times, then they stop, eat a few 22 and then just learn how to react to 22B, thats why i did 3B often again to hit grounded, but yout right, i should use it more again, make life harder for him :P

i think 2B+K works fine for hitting if they stay down, they can tech right though, but i dont think anything significant is free (if anything)

Furzy: No problem. =) I understand completely about DGF K and about having trouble punishing. When something works, it's hard not to keep abusing it until they adjust. And it took me a long time to punish him effectively and to really develop a strong game against Cervy. Much of that is thanks to my brother Botsu and Hates.
Some things I left out. That one move where he does a forward flip and lands with both swords (8B+K? 8A+K?), you can punish it with 6K2K if he lands in front of you. If he gets behind you he's safe.
I can see you still have some SC2 Yoshi instincts from his 1K, BT 8K, 66A+B combo. Hehe. I wish 66A+B connected more from 8K when the opponent is in the air.
While I'd like to go to Cannes, it's likely I won't be able to. Lack of money and the need to work take priority. =( I'd like to get a rematch with Belial, though. Gotta give him props. He stomped me in Vegas. I would've been happen to play him all day.

Got my ass kicked yesterday against doc, lost 5-3 (though I did a nice comeback, he was leading 4-0). I had another problem (again) with my camera so some matches are missing :/ I'll try and post the video tonight.
