Soul Calibur V Assets from San Diego Comic-Con!

In preparation for the upcoming Namco Fighting Games Panel at the San Diego Comic Con (the countdown on the front of 8WR is currently counting down till the panel); Namco has released some new assets and character artwork which confirm Ivy, as well as a stage without ringouts.

The most stunning of all this is that the male character silhouette that Daishi leaked to us last week is not Raphael, which I'm sure most of us assumed, but is instead a new character named "Zwei" (German for "two"). He also appears to be holding his sword in a "tonfa-like" fashion.

Look at the Left arm of Ivy!! a Snake with three pointed fingers.. OUCH!! that will gonna hurt.

 

Okay, so I'm late. :/
I knew that Ivy was going to be in sc5 so not so much of a surprise.
The two new characters are interesting with their costume designs. I hope their story and connection to the soul calibur world is interesting as well.
Zwei is his name? I think i saw some concept sketches from soul calibur 2 that had a female using a sword like that. From the pictures I don't think that he will be replacing talim's style. It seems like he can hold the sword differently in different stances? Like a tonfa and I guess like a sword. Lol now I want to see what his fighting style is like and how that will play out. Kinda excited :D

 

Why do you slag off Ivy? Amy is just a rip-off from Raphael but Ivy's movelist is unique so Amy is just a bonus character in reality...she even has to get Raphael to get whatever she wants because she is so useless..

Sorry to blow up your dream but in REALITY Amy is a full character in SC4. Bonus in SC3 but full in SC4. Stop crying.

Lets get off the subject of amy. she isn't even in the pictures in the thread. Ivy is most likely going to be in other soul calibur games because she has been in a majority of them.(besides soul blade) Um i am curious however about this new red head ninja with taki's fighting style. I wonder what her connection will be to taki and the swords....hmmmm. Is she someone's love child?? lol

 

Hmm...if Zwei were on Schwarzwind, you think he'd be a close ally to Nightmare? Seems like an interesting story to put together, but I kinda have my doubts on it. Unless you saw that he's actually on Schwarzwind somewhere, in which case, kwl.

Scwarzwind was Sieg's, so I thought he'd be Siegfried's servant.... err firend... (only if Sieg reunited with the band)

 

I doubt it - he spent the past two games apologising constantly, I don't think he's gonna go all psychopathic again...

 

Hmm... That picture actually says a lot to me...

Daishi said that the woman is Salia and the rest of the people are the rest of Schwarzwind... So, why not reuniting with his old friends?

 

I'm disappointed in the new character, Zwei.

Only because I was hoping a new character would wield a new and interesting weapon...not another sword-user. Gimme some flails, Namco!

On Twitter Daishi replied to someone and it makes it sound like he admits Zwei is a werewolf.

Well, it'd be like inferno's SC2 stage, which I actually think could be pretty cool. It would be interesting for lack of both wall combos and ring outs, meaning the only thing enabling the players are themselves, and the match is played more by a jury of skill than setup.

But some of player skill in SC is learning how to position and set up. The idea is OK considering I'll be playing on random anyway but I just hope there aren't too many stages like this.

 

Wow. I don't see this side of Siegfried often enough, I think i like it. He's getting too old for the upcoming competition. hehe. Why do they need another Sophitia style, that's not healthy. lol. Give me Amy!!!

 

I am happy with what has been revealed, and am intrigued by this new Zwei character. Maybe he will be revealed to be a member of Schwarzind? Only time will tell!

He will be a werewolf (as daishi answered some question) and will have a type of connection with the moon and a separate story, I guess he will not have relationship with members of Schwarzind

 

This announcement is amazing! And there's still room for Raphael. I was worried that the Zwei reveal would have been a character that ruled out Raph for looking too much like him.
Now just confirm Amy is back with rapier and dagger and I'll preorder.
