Hilde, Maxi, Tira and Voldo Confirmed for SC5!

A few hours ago, Daishi Odashima confirmed on his twitter that 4 characters would probably be revealed during GamesCom, in Cologne, Germany.

Probably 4 characters are going to be presented at GamesCom. Cross your fingers for your favorite character!

We now know, thanks to an exclusive video at 1UP GameVideos that Hilde, Maxi, Tira and Voldo have been confirmed for Soul Calibur 5! GamesCom hasn't officially started yet... so stay tuned for more!

Actually I think that's just a remix of a SC3 track.

Ah, that matches the music that starts at 0:56. Nice catch. Still, the first part is my favorite, so if anyone can match that (or confirm it’s new?), props.

 

So they just took an entire row from the SC4 select screen and said "okay, these guys are next"

 

The trailer looks nice, and I'm happy to see some old chars returning, but...
Until now it looks as if everyone who had something to do with Soul Edge doesn't age anymore (Tira, Maxi). Seems kinda lame to take the setting 17 years in the future, but almost everyone who returns looks like in SC4. It's just a "bad feeling"...hope it doesn't continue like this.
I'm hyped nonetheless. :)

Man I hate playing against Hilde but I do love her character as far as personality goes, I'm glad to see her return. As for maxi and Voldo... they have grow on me over the years so I'm glad they're back too ^^

I just played SC4 and I noticed that these 4 characters were put together on the same line in the characters' selection, strange....

Going back to that,... hmmm... that's interesting.

...They know what they are doing now! i hope that they NEVER EVER do like what they did in soul calibur 4!...

This 17 year skip is looking weird. Except for different hair on Mitsurugi and Siegfried, there's really no way of telling people are older. They could have given Natsu, Leixia, Patroklos and Pyrrha new names and new backstories, and this might as well have been a new game which is only a few months after the events of SC4.

I'm not complaining or anything, I just think it's another sign that this 17 year skip is rather pointless. And now as they've shown they're willing to let a bunch of people return with no signs of aging: gimme my Cassandra darnit!

 

Honestly I kind of do see Hilde a bit older.. I SEE IT. Something new about her cheekbones... She's still pretty tho O.O

 

That trailer was extremely lame. I guess it appeals to newcomers but Namco's Team Soul is really bad about these reveals, there too much flash and not enough meat and potatoes to where people can see or not if the game is going to be quality.

A 3 minute trailer showing everyones "super move" is a depressing start. I thought part of Tekken's team was working on this?

Ok first off, the information that was revealed today is not a fail in any way shape or form and secondly she brought up valid points. So as far as I am concerned. U can shut the front door.

Agree, as much as I loved that my character was reveal, the trailer was lacking. It should have focus on the four revealed characters and showed more gameplay instead of each of the eleven characters critical edge. At least we can expect some gameplay in the next couple of days.
