Siegfried Q&A / General Discussion

It's a Guard Break move now... I've never heard of a Guard Break varying in properties unless it's a JF or non-JF, like Maxi's dragon kick thing. This difference is very subtle.

Nightblade, B4 had like 3 (maybe 4) variations in SC4.

One of which is the late B4 input that gave a faster start up speed.

Guess I came in too late in the SCIV scene to really notice. Still, though, it's interesting that it carried over, even when in Guard Break form. Thanks for the confirm. :)

Love that B4 Clean Hits as well.

Getting the fast B4 and agA are driving me insane, I'm used to putting in everything super fast. Oh and agA clean hits too. :D

Getiin' mah copy in 18 hours. ^^
Tournament in 4 though, lol.

Will ag:A spam for the side.
dont forget 22_88A, a safe TCing step catching mid horizontal that tracks to both sides. great for consistent whiff punishing. kinda slow on startup though, but lately its been a personal favorite. and 66A, an agi guard crush that gives advantage. and dont forget 22_88BB and 22_88Bb4. they're definately combo staples. 66K shud prolly be ur new interrupt, at least for now. TCs, fast, knd on CH, and can combo into BE.

The info about him being weak comes directly from the official SCV guide makers, who have been playing the game for months. Here's their tier list:

SS: Devil Jin
S: Natsu
A: Alpha Patroklos, Pyrrha Omega, Pyrrha, Algol, Cervantes
B: Patroklos, Xiba, Maxi, Ivy, Leixia, Voldo, Tira, Yoshimitsu
C: Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Hilde, Raphael, Ezio, Astaroth
D: Aeon, Dampierre, Z.W.E.I., Viola
E: Siegfried

He must be really bad then, I don't believe that minor damage nerf would put a character on the very bottom. Maybe he was already bad in the older builds but now people were able to reveal his true weaknesses...

Bottom tier? Wow.

From what I've played of him so far, he doesn't seem bad at all. He's quicker and 66A is a guard breaker now. I noticed that a lot of moves from his stances are different. Maybe that's contributed to a lower rate.

Honestly, I've only played as him a few times so far so my opinion isn't very educated yet. But I would have placed him at high C or low B.

Let's not forget that it wallsplats quite well! :D

I'm not one to pay any attention to tiers, I've been maining Siegfried since I started playing Soul Calibur with 1. But something feels just plain wrong about him in this game. He doesn't feel right in my hands anymore.

IDK, I'm not a pro, just competent, and maybe I've been playing IV for too long, but I just can't seem to play SCV Sieg.

In my opinion SCV Sieg has everything SCIV Sieg had and more. He's stronger overall to me in every way, I just hate how some moves randomly whiff (SCH B then 88 BB, the first will whiff) and the damage nerf & post throw mix up nerf. But other than that I believe Sieg is pretty good.

just played SC V today

I feel JF ag:A timing is different from SC IV
not sure tho
maybe I still haven't used to it >_<

and I don't think he is an E tier
he should have a better tier lolz

oh yeah I love the new B4 and 66A :)

Yeah, I hear if you do it slower it will come out (Don't go for a SCIV iag:A). It's killing me, I want to know who thought that doing a slow agA input was a good idea.

And after having won my free copy of SCV (WOOHOO!!! ^_^) I can tell you all this: Siegfried is broken - BAN HIM.

Jks, but seriously - HYPE!!!

It's not about being slower.
I don't know if this will make any sense, but it seems that a:g:a demands a more clean input, since they tweaked the buffering system in the game, cleaner means that you need to lighten your touch on the first a, and not input g before you let go of the first a, otherwise it will register it as [a] and it won't come out.

I think they made the window to do a regular aga bigger just to compensate for the more strict input.

So he has his old aga, but also a slower timing aga.

I've been doing pretty well w/ him so far. I don't see how he got rated so far down on that 1 guys tier list. I also don't see how Panto thinks Sieg can't move. His backdash isn't much compared to the likes of say Pyrrah or NM but it still does it's job.

I do feel like once people get more comfortable and the speed of the game picks up he can have some issues if you aren't careful.

Will post some more details after a few more days of playing. I really need to get some more work in vs the small, fast, bitch characters.

- I.C.E.

P.S. I am loving the fact that SCH B is +2 on block. I think this is significant.
