You're kidding me, right? HackerMike is easily one of the countries best Hilde's. Are you gonna say that Hilde is subpar too?

Wait till the Grand Finals.
 
I didn't say Hilde sucked. I just think you completely pounded her to the point where I couldn't even tell that was a Hilde playing. In all honesty, I saw nothing "hildish." Do they just all freeze in awe when Maxi does stuff? Does he not like Maxi or something?
 
KDZ, very VERY nice. The videos vs Hackermike does ALOT more justice than the other vids(no offense to those guys, but this match looked much more impressive on both sides). Your knowledge of Hilde(used her for regionals, right?) shows. Although Hacker(as well as some others) may want to brush up on their anti-Maxi. From the videos, seems they slept on him until you brought the thunder, good sir.

...I want a Mirror Match whenever the fuck I make it up there. :D

Yo D matt, the Hilde was great. Hacker played Hilde...well the way you play Hilde. Just needs to up his anti-Maxi game tis all.

I guess when someone looses to Maxi, it's the popular thing to say that the opponent doesn't know Anti-Maxi.

Apparently, it's the general consensus that Maxi players can't have Anti-(Insert Name Here) strat either. :|
 
Digging through the video section, I came across another Hilde vs Maxi matchup, though some of you might have seen this.



I think the difference in this is both players are trying to control the match with their offense, with not much anti-strat defenses from both sides. In KDZ vs Mike's vids, Mike in the end became hesitant with his charges because KDZ was evading a lot of them or spacing a lot so as to not get caught up in Hilde's Doom Combo.

I kept seeing KDZ apply close to medium pressure but be ready to block. That shuts her down. If you feint hat you're always going for the throw, it really makes Hilde think too much. He like, never, stayed in a dangerous loop either. Blocking out of loops was great bait.
 
Well watched the vids thus far, the finals were pretty decent. The hilde didn't really know how to deal with the pressure early on but made a nice attempt in the grand finals though so those vids were better. I thought KDZ Maxi missed on some good combo opportunity as well as wakeup opportunity. For instance never landed a 33A combo, using 236A is a poor followup on BT B+K, always used 66B+K in combos regardless of launcher, never CH confirmed 3B(CH) -> RO B etc. His great defense was key in the grand finals...in the first 3 matches his zoning game was pretty poor, doing BBs out of range, attempting WS B -> LI B continuously and the sorts.

Definitely a polar opposite to my maxi, but it was effective and got the job done. Nice to see when different styles work with the same character.

so KDZ were you using 66B4 when you expected a charge attack? it seemed to stop it at the right distance. maybe just the A charge though. great play. my favorite simple low was used great, 1K.
 
Really kick ass maxi vs Zas matchup from Korean players:

Watch for excellent punishment of maxi strings and great adaptation. Man, they duck everything!

same Zas player, different maxi ( and looks like a better one to me, but he still misses some basic stuff )

Zas played really well, displayed a good level of antimaxi. The maxi used a moveset that was a bit risky though in general. Not much offense could've been mounted. Gambling AAs, 4B -> LO K, doing 66B4 out of range and the sorts.
 
It's not about quality, it's about the offensive and defensive capabilities of the Maxi player... however little there is to look for.

The Maxi player flat-out refused to adapt his offense or defense to what the Zas player was doing.
He didn't even give the Zas player a chance to show if he could / couldn't adapt.

4B LO ~ K was being ducked, 4BB was being blocked.
So what did he do?

More 4B ~ LO K.
 
Maybe how I wrote it was unclear. Really kickass match between Maxi and Zas. I love how the Zas player punishes the predictable strings that the maxi player uses. Seriously though, you guys need to reduce the bile in your replies.

Also, you see the Zas player adapt. The first 4B ROK hits and after that it never works again. You see the maxi player adapt by using the 66A to start catching the Zas player stepping in the last round. Obviously it wasn't enough, but I think there was some thinking going on during the match. Also, winning doesn't mean that the vid isn't worth watching. Both Fhong and Johnny posted vids of themselves and they both lose, and in Fhong's case he loses hard to Yosh. That doesn't mean we can't learn from these vids. Thats why we have this thread, to archive this stuff, right?
