I don't think this has been posted yet. Oofmatic asked Harada on twitter about Daishi, and got a reply:

It's a bit ambiguous as it doesn't really say if he left the company or just project soul, but either way, it looks like Daishi is out of the picture now. The leads at Project Soul has definitely changed a lot since SC5.

So, what do people think? Is this good or bad news? Daishi was the lead on SC5, so it looks like the next main SC game won't continue the same path as SC5 took.

I don´t know if it is good or bad, guess time will say that, but it doesn´t make me happy, I just hope a good future and please keep with the Alexandra girls, I need them.

Geez, I worry so much about Soul Calibur, but is because I love it so much.

Alas! Poor Daishi.
I (did not) know him.

Well, it was Daishi that pushed for a competitive focus with SCV, wasn't it? (But it was also Daishi that put in Just Guard and meter mechanics, to make it more like his beloved 3rd Strike, wasn't it?)

I guess we just hold our breath and hope that like with what happened with 3rd Strike and the eventual sequel, SCVI turns out wildly successful like SFI- pfft I can't finish that sentence

It seems like the turn over rate for lead producer on SC projects is very high. Almost every producer either quit the position or left the team all together after completing a game. I wonder what happened to Tago-san however. I mean Daishi stuck around for a bit after the release of SCV but Tago, he quickly disappeared.

Yeah, I also appreciace what he did, I think SCV has things to get better but I actually enjoy it and believe is a great game and great SC

Man, I feel bad for Daishi. I bet he's going to join another gaming company, and make his own game that's going to compete with SC...probably.

Let's see how end up SC6, as now i can't say if good or bad news

Sure Daishi did a lot of good stuff, but as personal taste i miss old style SC and Daishi was all about try to go as far as possible from it

Maybe SC6 will end up awesome classic feeling, maybe it will be fantasyteenmarketing shit, it's soon to say

I worry about where Namco is going. Daishi made a Soulcalibur game for the tournament community; SC5 is probably the best game in the series. But sadly, quality does not necessarily equate to sales.

So Daishi is gone... Hoshino is in... announces a SINGLE PLAYER ONLY FIGHTING GAME.

This is an ugly perspective, no doubt

But before get in desperation mode, Lost Souls is likely going to be a cheap F2P bullshit spin-off (SCLegends was a single player spin-off too) made for eat some DLC money$, i don't think it must be taken as hint of how SC6 will end up

Hoshino itself was'nt part of the SC2 boat?

Another problem I see is the lack of Filthierich. Filthierich was probably the only guy at Namco that was really pushing for community interaction. He got us in touch with Project Soul; mainly Daishi and Tago-san. Since he left Namco, we've had pretty much zero communication between Namco and the community.

If you don't mind me asking, would there be any way to facilitate more community interaction or are we just going to hope for the best?
